Chapter 2477: Chapter 2477: Even a Five-Year-Old Wouldn’t Think That Way

On the way to get the Cat Whisker Fruit, Xu Huo ran into other players when leaving the Wan Family. Everyone looked rather gloomy, probably aware of the stiff competition. Passing the level through this method seemed hopeless, so no one showed a good face.

Bubble Bean returned, saw Xu Huo holding the Cat Whisker Fruit, and couldn’t help but mock, "People who could come up with this idea must be at least twenty-nine out of thirty."

Xu Huo glanced at him, "With your IQ, it’s hard to explain why I must get this particular Cat Whisker Fruit."

Bubble Bean didn’t confront him directly, instead snorted coldly, "You’re so capable, I’d like to see if you can pass the level with this Cat Whisker Fruit!"

Ling Ling joined, smiling, "I just spoke with a few players. They’ve received an anonymous order on the Collection of Information Terminal, requesting a custom-made Cat Whisker Fruit be delivered to Mao Tong City, involving a family will. It’s likely someone will intercept it on the way, so multiple teams are needed for transport."

"A will, can’t we just send it through Beneath the Dimension?" Bubble Bean said, "Is there a need to arrange for people to deliver it?"

"I don’t know about that," Ling Ling said, "but it’s indeed abnormal, possibly very risky. Precisely because it’s risky, it makes a peculiar event. No one has likely done it before, so the chance of passing the level is still high."

"What do you think? Want to give it a try?" She looked at Xu Huo, "Should be more reliable than what you have in hand."

Xu Huo thought for a moment before saying, "I plan to wait a bit longer."

Ling Ling raised an eyebrow, "Worried it’s a trap?"

Just like Bubble Bean said, forget a will, even delivering it to the heirs can be done in many ways in today’s District 001. There’s no need for external help, even if someone intervenes at a fixed location with equipment. But involving inheritance rights, District 001 should have protection mechanisms in place, governmental agencies would intervene, so no one can cover the sky single-handedly.

Considering all these factors, the order looks more like a trap, but it’s unclear whom it targets.

"If it’s targeting us, then forget it. If it’s a District 001 matter, there’s no need to join the chaos." Bubble Bean also agreed to watch and wait for now.

However, over the next day, they didn’t find a better target, and by the day of the Wan Family banquet, Ling Ling decided to team up with other players she acquainted, trying to bring Xu Huo and Bubble Bean along, but Xu Huo didn’t nod, making Bubble Bean hesitate.

Xu Huo had been waiting for the elderly woman who did "Small Object Carving," watching to see when she would set out. Before the Wan Family banquet, she came carrying a basket, asking the Wan Family to arrange two people to escort her for delivery.

If the Wan Family needs to help with such small matters, even with more hands, they would be busied out. However, the old lady had a good relationship with the Wan Family people, she left with two players accompanying her.

The lady preferred not to use transportation devices, nor to place her half-finished Cat Whisker Fruits in the luggage compartment, so she carried them all on her. She had a small metal basket, light and sturdy.

When the young man escorted them out, Xu Huo went over and proposed traveling with the three since he had to deliver something for the Wan Family, just right to keep company.

The young man hadn’t expected he hadn’t left yet. After brief hesitation, he smiled and said, "Then it’ll trouble you."

Bubble Bean didn’t quite understand why Xu Huo chose the old lady as a target, but seeing the Wan Family truly willing to arrange two players to escort her, he wanted to see what it’s all about, even if it meant a fruitless trip and starting over.

The old lady wasn’t very welcoming of the three strangers, pushing Bubble Bean back when boarding.

"Granny, why not use props to transport directly?" Bubble Bean wanted to complete the task quickly, "I have suitable props that can transport you to the destination immediately!"

The old lady glanced sideways at him, "Delivery is one thing, but as an elderly, I’d like to see the scenery on the way, is that not okay?"

It’s a tourist line, of course it’s okay. Bubble Bean, left embarrassed, fell back two steps behind Xu Huo.

Before boarding, Xu Huo just asked the two other players their names, then no longer conversed with them.

Since the vehicle was departing from Cat Fruit Town, the first stop had many carrying Cat Whisker Fruits, both finished and half-finished. After boarding, the old lady rejected a robot’s help to store her luggage, placing her basket by her feet. As the vehicle moved, some passengers curiously asked what she was selling.

The old lady opened the lid to show a bit, passengers took a look and moved on. Next, a seller of nuclear carving Cat Whisker Fruits chuckled, "Ma’am, bringing half-finished products is because customers demand on-site creation, usually hard to sell these."

Facing players, the old lady’s attitude was completely different, smiling as she explained, "I have some ordered by customers, and brought extras, if someone likes them, I’ll sell, if not, take them home."

The other party showed a "I see" expression, enthusiastically chatted more with her, and inspected her crafted nuclear carving, impressed by her skill, carefully selected two.

The old lady’s price was high, at least double the market rate, so the buyer had to set one down, buying only one.

Others who were interested backed off upon hearing the high price since nuclear carving Cat Whisker Fruits aren’t rare, available anytime, making bus purchases unnecessary.

The old lady seemed genuinely to be traveling, after closing the basket lid, she leaned on the seat watching the scenery, players without anything to do could only wait idly for the next stop.

A half-hour later, they arrived at a small town, and because the town was small, the stop only lasted thirty minutes, enough for sightseers to disembark and return without delaying the trip.

The old lady also descended, followed by the two from Wan Family and Xu Huo, meandering aimlessly through the charming town, bought some specialties, and boarded again.

"Granny, what’s your destination?" Bubble Bean couldn’t resist talking.

The old lady glanced at him sideways, "Several major cities, plus visiting clients’ homes, if you find it troublesome, don’t follow."

"Why would I?" Bubble Bean grinned, under the mask still quite affable, "I have elderly at home too. Here, I care for others’ elders, if not home, others would surely care for mine."

The old lady eyed him cryptically, "Do you really think so?"

"Of course." Bubble Bean confidently said.

The old lady had a complex look, "Do you think I’m easy to trick because of age? Even five-year-olds won’t think like that."

Bubble Bean’s face twitched, "Granny, good people are still more in the world."
