While Lu Yu was instructing the future Empress, Monkey had already rushed to Mount Luojia in the South Sea. At this moment, he held himself high, looking as though he were about to discipline someone, and forcibly barged in despite the Mountain God’s efforts to stop him.

Upon seeing Monkey, Bodhisattva Guanyin chuckled and asked, "You Monkey, instead of guarding Tang Monk on the journey to retrieve the scriptures in Western Heaven, why have you come to my Mount Luojia to cause trouble?"

Monkey replied, "My master encountered your Zen Temple where, sustained by the incense offered by mortals, you allowed a Black Bear Spirit to reside as a neighbor. He stole my master’s kasaya and, despite several requests, did not return it. I am here specifically to ask you for it."

"If it is the Black Bear Spirit who stole your kasaya, you should go find him instead of troubling me here. It’s all because you, Monkey, rely on your own abilities and flaunt your treasures, provoking that old monk to harbor evil thoughts. Then you secretly made things worse by setting fire to my Zen Temple.

I’ve overlooked your misdeeds and did not trouble myself over them, yet you still have the audacity to come here and accuse me."

Upon hearing this, Monkey realized that Guanyin was clear of involvement; his confidence immediately died down, and he said, licking his face, "Kind Bodhisattva, that Black Bear Spirit really is a nuisance. He couldn’t defeat Ol’ Monkey and hid behind locked doors. The main gate is connected to the ley lines of Black Wind Mountain; if I attack forcefully, innocents might get hurt.

I hope for your merciful aid."

Only then did Guanyin say, "You, Monkey, still have a heart of compassion after all. Well, I promise you this day, by calling to heaven and earth, I shall accompany you on this venture."

So the two, riding clouds and mist, arrived at Black Wind Mountain where they happened to meet Ling Xuzi, who had come to offer birthday congratulations. Without a word, Monkey picked up his Jingu Bang and struck him on the head, sadly making Ling Xuzi, despite his years of cultivation, the victim under Monkey’s stick.

It was his fate to suffer this calamity. Ever since he caught a glimpse of Black Wind King’s great battle with Monkey, he realized that he had underestimated the Black Wind King’s strength. While alchemizing pills, he had just created several fine pills, hoping to please Black Wind King so he might seek help in the future.

He hadn’t expected Monkey Sun to suddenly appear and inadvertently take his life.

Guanyin too was shocked and said, "Amitabha, why did you kill him just like that?"

"The Bodhisattva might not know, but this creature was a good friend of that Black Bear Spirit, likely here to offer birthday congratulations," Monkey replied as he kicked Ling Xuzi’s body aside, only to discover that this demon was an old, enlightened being, and beneath him were the pills he’d intended to present to Black Wind King.

Monkey’s eyes darted around, quickly forming a plan.

In Black Wind Cave, Little Black Bear lay in his den, eating sweet honey, slowly dissipating the gloom from the beating he had received from Monkey.

A sneeze suddenly echoed through the den. Little Black Bear touched his nose and murmured, "Golden Cicada once said, ’Sneezing means someone is cursing you; it must be that damnable dead Monkey. I curse him to never taste anything good for the rest of his life.’"

At that moment, an attendant demon reported from outside that Ling Xuzi had come to offer birthday congratulations and had brought top-grade pills.

Upon hearing this, Little Black Bear’s eyes immediately brightened. He remembered how delicious the pill Ling Xuzi had given him last time was—it tasted like crunchy peanut. He wondered what flavor it would be this time.

He hurriedly waddled toward the door on his short legs but halfway there realized something was amiss and quickly transformed back into the form of a dark-faced strongman.

Stepping outside, he immediately saw Ling Xuzi in his Taoist robe. In his heart, he had always despised Ling Xuzi, who thought himself a cultivator just because he wore a Taoist robe, yet he was a cruel and murderous man, completely lacking the tranquil and effortless demeanor of the Taoist sect. Therefore, Little Black Bear had little respect for him.

However, today Ling Xuzi seemed different, possessing an unusual dignity, and faintly, there appeared to be some genuine trace of an immortal’s grace about him.

"Ling Xuzi, what kind of opportunity has befallen you that you even seem to possess the demeanor of a profound recluse?" Little Black Bear asked with a laugh.

"Thanks to the Great King’s praise, I indeed have had some insights into my cultivation recently." Having said that, he took out a pill and said with a smile, "This humble Taoist offers an Immortal Pill, daring to claim it ensures a thousand years of life."

Guanyin was also observing Little Black Bear. In her eyes, Black Wind King, having shed his disguise, turned out to be a simple and endearing Little Black Bear, with the faint presence of Buddha Light around him.

Being skilled in divination and understanding causality, the Bodhisattva traced the Buddha Light back to its source and saw a young monk with a face bearing a cynical smile, hands clasped together chanting the Buddha’s name. She instantly understood everything.

At this moment, Little Black Bear had already brought the pill to his mouth, but before he could swallow it, Monkey, unable to contain himself any longer, rushed into his belly.

Monkey caused havoc inside Little Black Bear’s belly, the pain making Little Black Bear roll on the ground, no longer able to maintain his disguise, reverting to his original form.

"Ouch, did I eat something bad?" Little Black Bear wondered aloud while rolling on the ground, trying to guess what he might have eaten wrong.

"Wukong, stop and come out to talk," Guanyin’s voice resounded in Monkey’s ears, and he reluctantly came out through Little Black Bear’s nostrils.

However, when he saw Black Wind King before him, he was utterly shocked, unable to believe his eyes as he scrutinized Little Black Bear up and down.

"What are you looking at, you stinky monkey?" Little Black Bear said indignantly, his small eyes still brimming with tears.

"This is Black Wind King?" Monkey pointed at Little Black Bear, looking at Guanyin incredulously.

"I can’t believe I was fighting a mere child!" Monkey murmured to himself. He felt his lifelong reputation was ruined by this Little Black Bear, and feared that if word got out, the entire Three Realms would know that Great Sage Equalling Heaven, Sun Wukong, actually bullied a child.

"Hmph! Who are you calling a mere child? I am a widely known Greater Demon," Little Black Bear said disparagingly, arms crossed.

Seeing this, Monkey was even more speechless. Despite his Divine Skills and Brass Eye, he had been deceived by such a Little Black Bear.

Just then, a tight Golden Hoop suddenly fell on Little Black Bear’s head, making Monkey involuntarily turn to look at Guanyin.

"This Golden Hoop is no ordinary thing; it can restrain wild nature as well as seal demonic nature. Their clan had participated in the catastrophe of the Dragon Clan during Ancient Times, deeply embedding a demonic root. It doesn’t show now because he is young, but it’s likely he would become possessed by demons once he grows up. This Golden Hoop can seal the demonic nature within him.

I wouldn’t part with this treasure if not for Golden Cicada’s sake," explained Guanyin.

Little Black Bear, on the other hand, was curiously touching the Golden Hoop on his head, finding it extremely amusing, completely ignoring the conversation between Guanyin and Monkey.

"Little Black Bear, since Golden Cicada has now obliterated his True Spirit, why not come with me to Mount Luojia, where my back mountain still lacks a Mountain Guarding God. When Golden Cicada returns after completing his trials, you can go and find him then. How about that?" Guanyin asked with a smile, actually quite fond of this adorable Little Black Bear.
