"Disciple has already achieved Yangshen some time ago, but I have no idea how to stimulate the Five Qi," Liu Qingyun raised his own confusion. After his Heavenly Gate Foundation Establishment, he had been diligently cultivating without a moment’s laziness. Furthermore, with Lu Yu’s direct guidance, he avoided many detours, which is why he could reach the great achievement of Yangshen so quickly.

However, when it came to stimulating the Five Qi, he was completely clueless and uncertain about what to do.

"The path of the Five Qi is the true separator between immortals and mortals. It is the second threshold for those who cultivate the Celestial Immortal Dao. There’s no particularly good method to overcome it; one can only wait for the opportune moment to arise," Lu Yu explained.

"However, the Five Qi are deeply hidden within the five visceral organs, and these organs correspond to the five human emotions, as the saying goes: happiness hurts the heart, anger injures the liver, worry harms the spleen. Grief affects the lungs, and fear damages the kidneys. Find more to read at freewebnovel.com

As practitioners of the Celestial Immortal Dao, if we can grasp the changes in emotions, we can glimpse the opportunity to stimulate the Five Qi. Therefore, at this stage, one needs to re-enter the mortal realm to refine their heart amidst the red dust," Lu Yu continued to explain.

"Perfect, in a few days, I will take you to the land of Kyushu. Living in Great Chu for too long, one cannot see the vastness of the world. The land of Kyushu is where the human race prospers greatly; it is very different from our place. Right now, it is the time of dynasty change, with turmoil under the heavens.

You can take this opportunity to refine your heart among the mortal dust and see if you can grasp the opportunity to stimulate the Five Qi within your chest."

Upon hearing this, Liu Qingyun’s eyes immediately lit up, and his heart already began to look forward to the wonders Kyushu might hold.

Several days later, in the Han Jizhou, Lu Yu looked at Liu Qingyun, who was wearing an uncomfortable expression, and smiled, "How does the seal of Kyushu taste?"

"I had heard about it from you, Master, but it wasn’t until today that I truly experienced its formidable power," Liu Qingyun couldn’t help but remark. When he had first heard his master mention it, he was somewhat skeptical—how could there be such a powerful seal in the world that even immortals descending to the mortal plane would be greatly affected?

Now that he had truly entered the seal, Liu Qingyun knew there was no exaggeration in these words; such a powerful seal indeed existed in the world.

"This was set up by the Ancient Human Emperor Yu, who cast the Nine Tripods to stabilize heaven and earth, resulting in such a powerful seal. Over the centuries, as the Human Path flourished, the power of this seal has grown stronger. Even now, as I step into this land of Kyushu, I too feel restricted," Lu Yu took the opportunity to impart some knowledge to his disciple.

As the two of them were talking, there was a rustling from the bushes, and a child wielding a wooden spear jumped out.

The child looked very frail, and his thin ribcage was clearly visible under his ragged hemp clothes. His face was smeared with mud, and there were leaves and weeds stuck in his untidy hair from hiding, yet his eyes were very bright.

"This is a stickup!" the child shouted in a young voice, feeling that he wasn’t being imposing enough, so he tried to puff out his chest and gripped his wooden spear tightly, hoping that this display of vigor would intimidate the two people in front of him.

"Hand over all your food," he tried to appear fierce, but the mud-covered child’s face was not the least bit threatening; instead, it looked rather cute.

The child seemed to think that asking for all the food was a bit too much, so his tone softened as he spoke, "Give half, yes, half is necessary."

Seeing the child in front of him trying to imitate a bandit, Lu Yu laughed and said, "Whose child are you, running around in these deep mountains? It’s far too dangerous."

"Not afraid, I am strong. Wolves and tigers hide when they see me," the child responded to Lu Yu’s question, seemingly forgetting his robber persona, and said proudly, patting his chest and tilting his chin up, as if it was something to be very proud of.

"But Little Great King, we don’t have any food on us either, what should we do?" Lu Yu spread his hands, his face wearing a helpless expression as he looked at the child.

"Ah? How can there be no food?" Disappointment instantly surfaced on the child’s face, as he had thought that today he would finally be able to have a full meal.

"You haven’t told us, where did you come from, where are your parents?" Lu Yu spoke softly, feeling the sorrow deeply hidden behind the child’s stubbornness.

"My mother died early on, and we couldn’t pay our taxes, so my father took me with him and fled into the mountains. Unexpectedly, he fell seriously ill and died, leaving me all alone," the child said plainly, as he had already grown accustomed to being by himself, with his father and mother becoming just memories.

"Sigh!" Lu Yu let out a soft sigh. He could guess the ins and outs of the situation from these words. The child before him was truly an orphan with no one to care for him. Thankfully, he had a good amount of strength, or else he probably would have died in these wild mountains long ago. Even so, his days were not easy.

The food left by his father was dwindling, and with almost nothing left, having no other choice, he could only emulate the thieves in stories and commit robberies.

The child stood in front of the two men, his face full of embarrassment as he looked down at his feet, silently counting his toes poking through the worn-out straw shoes, no longer exhibiting the bravado from before.

Once he knew that Lu Yu and his companion had no food either, the impulse and bravery born of hunger were no longer present. He had realized his mistake by then, he had become the very thing he had always despised since he was little.

At this moment, Liu Qingyun, who had been silent all along, suddenly acted. His figure moved with extreme speed, disappearing into the cave. After just a few moments, he returned to where he started, the entire movement as smooth as flowing water, leaving the child with eyes full of amazement.

When Liu Qingyun returned, he was holding a large wild hare that was struggling incessantly in his grasp. He smiled and said, "How about I treat you to wild hare today?"

Tears instantly slid down the child’s face. He seemed reluctant to let others see him crying. He hastily wiped the tears away with the back of his hand, smearing his face, already dirtied with mud, into something resembling a tabby cat. But no matter how much he wiped, the tears in his eyes seemed endless, continuing to flow out.

"Can I really eat it?" he asked cautiously.

"Of course, it’s specially to treat you," Liu Qingyun said, his face full of smiles, just like his own master had looked at him long ago.

Lu Yu watched the interaction between Liu Qingyun and the child quietly, and memories of when he first met Liu Qingyun flashed through his mind. Come to think of it, these two little fellows really did resemble each other, both stubborn, both clinging to hope amidst adversity. Perhaps it was for this reason that Liu Qingyun was acting in such a way.

Soon, the delicious roasted rabbit was done. Liu Qingyun first tore off a piece and respectfully offered it to Lu Yu, saying, "Please, master, have a taste."

Then, under the hopeful eyes of the child, he snapped off a rabbit leg and handed it to him.
