Chapter 81: Successful Escape

The 8 spear projections reached Tang Yin in the blink of an eye. 8 large booming sounds echoed for a whole mile before slowly disappearing. The ground where Tang Yin had been, was now a large crater, Tang Yin was nowhere to be seen.

The old man looked around in confusion after seeing no corpse that had been blown to bits inside the crater. When the old man looked behind him, he was shocked.

Tang Yin stood behind the man, the restriction that immobilized his movement had disappeared at the last second. Tang Yin had used the Gale Step to quickly dodge most of the spear projections.

Nonetheless, he was not completely uninjured. He had 2 large holes in his body, one in his stomach and one in his left thigh. Tang Yin was not able to dodge the 2 closest spear projections, they had pierced his body.

"How are you still alive?" The old man asked with haggard breathing, that was his strongest attack. Yet Tang Yin was still alive, this left the old man baffled.

Tang Yin did not answer, he dashed towards the old man despite his serious injuries. The talisman on the old man’s forehead slowly faded away, he lost his composure and hurriedly retreated.

The old man felt regret, he regretted attacking Tang Yin instead of reasoning. "Fellow cultivator, this a misunderstanding, just a misunderstanding." The old man frantically shouted to Tang Yin who was chasing after him.

A ferocious leer appeared on Tang Yin’s face, he could tell the old man had used up all of the remaining Qi inside his Qi Sea and had been seriously injured by the usage of his Martial Spirit.

He was not going to let the old man escape. If he let the old man escape, he would only create many future problems which would involve a whole sect on his tail. With this thought, Tang Yin pursued the old man even more quickly.

An hour passed. The old man and Tang Yin had both slowed down due to the grievous injuries they had sustained. "Smelly brat, I’m one of the 2 Great Elders of the Drifting Cloud Sect. If you continue with this farce, I’ll have all of the disciples and elders hunt you down like a dog!" The old man had been shouting out various threats during the whole pursuit and escape.

Tang Yin did not care, he knew all about the old man’s identity when he had used the Soul Plunder on Qin Yan.

The Drifting Cloud Sect was a Rank 2 Organization, its Supreme Elder was a Spirit Vein Condensation Realm Cultivator. The 2 Great Elders were just below the Supreme Elder in terms of status, both of the Great Elders had peak Physique Transformation Realm cultivation.

Tang Yin would not stop until he killed this Great Elder, if the Drifting Cloud Sect decided to pursue this matter, he would just exterminate the whole sect when he became stronger in the future.

Tang Yin did not use Gale Step during the whole pursuit because he wanted to preserve his Abyss Qi, but this chase frustrated him, and he changed his mind. Tang Yin used Gale Step continuously, he disappeared and reappeared in succession and quickly closed the distance between himself and the old man.

Despair appeared in the old man’s eyes, he knew none of his threats were working, so he stopped wasting his breath. Tang Yin inched closer every second, likewise, the expenditure of his Abyss Qi skyrocketed.

"I’ll fight you to the death!" The old man saw that Tang Yin was about to catch up to him at any second, he gritted his teeth and turned around to face Tang Yin head-on.

Tang Yin gasped, he did not expect the old man to do such a thing. He was digging his own grave but would only make things easier for Tang Yin.

With madness and frenzy, the old man coughed up a huge mouthful of blood essence. The blood essence was then absorbed back into his body, a crimson halo appeared around the old man.

With a terrifying speed, the old man turned back and escaped in the same direction as before once again. Tang Yin was stunned, he did not expect the old man to be so cunning.

Tang Yin paused, he looked on helplessly as the old man escaped as a long crimson arc.

Tang Yin thought about something he had learned from the Shan family Patriarchs’ memories. There were a few types of Martial Skills which could allow cultivators to break through their physical limit to burst forth with a sudden increase in a certain attribute. However, the price was too steep, most cultivators would keep such Martial Skills as a last resort.

Tang Yin did not possess such a technique, and neither did the Shan family’s Patriarch, which was why he had met his end at Tang Yin’s hands. Clearly, the old man did not want to use this harmful Martial Skill as the consequences would be too harsh for him to handle.

But seeing Tang Yin’s relentless pursuit, the old man had no choice but to steel his resolve with determination and activate the Martial Skill which would not only destabilize his cultivation but also harm his physical body permanently.

Tang Yin contemplated the consequences of the old man escaping, and he frowned. Since the old man was a Great Elder of the Drifting Cloud Sect, he had the authority to order the whole sect to search for him, this would be incredibly inconvenient as Tang Yin would have to constantly look over his shoulder.
