Chapter 72: Real Treasury
"Spare you? You deserve to die for the injustice your Shan family conducted on my father." Tang Yin laughed brokenly, he swung his Abyssal Sword once more at the pleading Patriarch. Both arms of the Patriarch were cleanly chopped off.
Blood gushed out profusely from all 4 of the severed limbs, and the Patriarch’s screams, and pleadings only got louder. Tang Yin did not stop, he continuously mutilated and tortured the Patriarch without killing him.
The Patriarch was filled with holes, his blood had already created a large puddle around Tang Yin and himself. "Kill me!" The torture was too much for the Patriarch, instead of pleading for life, he was pleading for death to be put out of his misery.
"Kill you? I’m not done yet, feel the pain." Tang Yin’s detached voice echoed in the Patriarch’s head. Tang Yin slowly stabbed his Abyssal Sword into the Patriarch’s eyes, his blood-filled voice sounded repeatedly throughout the air. Tang Yin slowly cut off every part of the Patriarch’s body as slowly and painfully as he could while making sure the Patriarch did not die.
minutes later, the Patriarch’s mutilated body lay on the floor. He was still barely alive, various parts of his body lay all around him. Tang Yin had used the Soul Plunder on the Patriarch, he had found the location of the treasury of the Shan family. He also found out many things he did not know about the cultivation world, this knowledge would be helpful in the future.
Tang Yin walked towards a ruined house, he grabbed a long wooden pole from the ruins of the house. He impaled the Patriarch on one end of the pole and stuck the other end of the pole into the ground. He had created a bloody flag out of the now-dead Patriarch’s corpse.
Tang Yin did not stop there, he looked around for many small pieces of sturdy sticks, he impaled the various mutilated body parts of the Patriarch onto them stuck the sticks into the ground around the large main pole. He wanted to send a clear message to Maple Leaf City through this action. ’All those who provoke me will face this ending.’
Tang Yin took one last deep look at the Patriarch’s corpse, he turned around and headed to the Patriarch’s mansion.
According to the memories of the Patriarch, the treasury the 6 Elders knew of was only the Shan Family’s treasury. The real treasury was located beneath the Patriarch’s mansion, nobody except each generation of the Shan family Patriarchs knew of the existence of the real treasury.
The real treasury did not contain many items like the normal treasury of the Shan family, only the sacred and truly valuable items were stored there.
Xiao Fei had already finished killing every single member of the Shan family, Tang Yin had specifically ordered her not to turn any corpses to ash. Therefore, the charred corpses and pieces of burned bodies were littered over the whole Shan family’s territory.
It was currently night-time, it would still be at least half an hour before the whole city discovered the extermination of the Shan family. Tang Yin was sure he could loot both the real and normal treasury of the Shan family and leave Maple Leaf City within half an hour.
Tang Yin arrived at the Patriarch’s mansion, Xiao Fei sat on his shoulder. He activated his Heaven Piercing Gaze, he looked at every minute detail of the mansion, inside and out.
He noticed a small crack, this crack was unnoticeable to normal people as it was on the floor. But Tang Yin could see that there was a strange airflow around this small crack with his Heaven Piercing Gaze.
Tang Yin slashed his Abyssal Sword at the crack precisely, a large hole caved in. Once the dust subsided, Tang Yin saw a fleet of stairs leading downstairs. He slowly descended down the stairs, and both he and Xiao Fei remained extremely vigilant in case of traps.
Tang Yin constantly had the Heaven Piercing Gaze activated, once the duo reached the last step, what appeared before them was an average chamber. The chamber was created from mud and clay, it looked very primitive except for the fact that the chamber was shaped exactly like a square.
Tang Yin paused, he could see various traps and numerous details with his Heaven Piercing Gaze. These traps were invisible to the naked eye, even Xiao Fei could not see them. Tang Yin placed Xiao Fei down on the last step and told her to remain still and not to move.
The traps could easily be blocked by Physique Transformation Realm cultivators, the only reason the traps existed was so that they could alert the Patriarch once the chamber was infiltrated. However, the Patriarch was dead, the traps were inconsequential.
Tang Yin walked through the traps, numerous arrows were fired from both sides of the square wall, a large number of spikes dropped from the ceiling, and small landmines on the ground detonated.
Tang Yin calmly walked through these traps without attempting to avoid them, Tang Yin appeared on the other side of the chamber unscathed. Most of his upper robes were torn to shreds, what was revealed underneath was the Silver Plate Armour he had purchased from Shan’s Universal Needs.
There was not a single scratch on the Silver Plate Armour except for the sword strike Tang Yin had laded before to test the Armor before purchasing it.
