Chapter 323: Battling Yun Qi
"Nope, I was just asking. I’m always ready for a battle." Tang Yin turned his head to Yun Qi, with thick battle intent brewing in his eyes.
"No need to waste any time, let’s go!" With that said, Qian Zhong grabbed Tang Yin and shot into the sky, past the Array Formation. Old Mu also grabbed Yun Qi and charged after Qian Zhong.
High up in the sky, even above the pearly white clouds, Qian Zhong, Old Mu, Yun Qi and Tang Yin stood solemnly.
Old Mu and Qian Zhong stood quite far away from each other. Whereas Tang Yin and Yun Qi stood 100 metres opposite each other.
"If you give up now, I’ll spare your life." Yun Qi said with an arrogant smirk.
With a shake of his head, Tang Yin’s eyes focused on Yun Qi, and his Abyss Qi churned.
"Don’t say I didn’t give you a way out later!" With a shout, Yun Qi raised his palms and slammed them together.
Tang Yin suddenly felt the space around his body harden, it was even slowly encasing his body. He felt as if he was trapped inside a rapidly shrinking box.
’Space Principles...’ Tang Yin thought, but he wasn’t flustered. Suddenly, crimson fog seeped out of his body and created a large dome around his body. Ethereal Slaughter Art!
Upon witnessing this, Yun Qi’s expression turned ferocious, "Pierce!"
The hardened space around Tang Yin turned rigid. Instead of condensing itself, the Space Principles condensed the space into multiple spires. From the outside, it looked as if the blue sky had suddenly warped into numerous spikes.
However, strangely, the numerous Spatial Spires remained stationary, without budging an inch.
Yun Qi’s expression changed slightly. Although he didn’t know what had happened, he could sense that his Spatial Spires were stuck. It was as if something was preventing the spires from moving and were holding them in place.
Tang Yin smirked upon witnessing this. During the large amount of time he had all to himself inside the Abyss Firmament and the Moonlit River Sect, he had theorized numerous things.
One of these things was the Void Chains. The inherent property of the Void Chains was devouring. They slowly devoured everything that they bound to reinforce themselves. This was the speciality of Devouring Principles.
But where did the Void Chains come from? The void! As such, the Void Chains were also imbued with Space Principles along with Devouring Principles even though the quantity of Space Principles in the Void Chains compared to Devouring Principles was secondary.
Due to Tang Yin’s cultivation of the Mid-stage Principle Comprehension Realm, the Void Chains normally wouldn’t be effective against a Mid-stage Principle Manipulation Realm cultivator’s attack.
However, the opposing cultivator was a cultivator who cultivated the Principle of Space! By binding something containing a large amount of Space Principles, the Void Chain could increase the Space Principles contained within itself, thus increasing its own power.
Unfortunately, this would only work in an area rich with Space Principles or against attacks imbued with Space Principles.
’I need to be quick. Otherwise, the Void Chains won’t hold on for long. He’s an entire major realm and 3 minor stages above me, after all.’ Tang Yin could feel the Void Chains about to reach their limits.
Yun Qi was still perplexed. He couldn’t see the Void Chains since the confrontation between his Spatial Spires and the Void Chains was happening in the void.
Qian Zhong and Old Mu could see everything with their powerful divine senses. But they didn’t think much of it. In their eyes, Tang Yin was a Mid-stage Principle Manipulation Realm cultivator who cultivated the Principle of Space, similar to Yun Qi. Being able to restrain Yun Qi’s attack with his own attack by utilizing Space Principles was normal.
"Break!" With a shout, a vast surge of Abyss Qi flooded out from Tang Yin’s body and violently crashed into the surrounding Spatial Spires.
BANG
Out of the 6 Spatial Spires, 4 of them shattered and the Space Principles imbued within them scattered. It now appeared as if the space surrounding Tang Yin had been torn open.
As for the remaining 2 Spatial Spires, they broke through the constraints of the Void Chains before Tang Yin had released his attack and then managed to break through the surge of Abyss Qi, they charged straight towards Tang Yin’s chest.
With a slight grin on his lips, Tang Yin’s body scattered as numerous specks of starlight rapidly shrouded the surrounding several hundred metres. Starlight Veil!
Yun Qi’s expression darkened. He swiftly disassembled the Spatial Spires. There were numerous mirages of Tang Yin waltzing through the huge area covered by the Starlight Veil. 2 Spatial Spires wouldn’t be able to do anything.
"Spatial Lockdown." Yun Qi muttered calmly. The surrounding kilometre of space around him, Tang Yin and the Starlight Veil suddenly constricted once again.
However, it was different from last time. Last time, Yun Qi had solidified the space around Tang Yin to immobilize his movements. But now, he had separated the surrounding kilometre of space around himself from the space of the world. He had essentially created a small pocket dimension or arena around where he and Tang Yin existed.
"Let’s see where you can run now." As he said this, sweat dripped down Yun Qi’s forehead. Locking down such a huge area of space was extremely demanding on him. He could only keep it up for a few seconds.
Tang Yin remained unfazed. His mirages condensed from the Starlight Veil rapidly inched closer to Yun Qi.
"Spatial Shockwave!" With a shout, Yun Qi waved his arm. Dense, visible vibrations emanated from his arm before spreading out in a circular motion.
BOOM BOOM BOOM
Each time Tang Yin’s mirage made contact with the Spatial Shockwave, they exploded. Within a moment, several mirages had already exploded.
The Spatial Shockwave quickly covered the entire kilometre of space. All of Tang Yin’s mirages were destroyed, and the Starlight Veil’s size had also been reduced considerably.
Tang Yin was also exposed, he stood 50 metres away from Yun Qi.
However, before he could even do anything, another shout came from Yun Qi, "Explode!" His fist clenched correspondingly to his words.
BANG
The space between Yun Qi and Tang Yin exploded violently. The explosion covered a radius of 100 metres whilst the shockwaves created from it reached the kilometre mark.
Once the explosion subsided, Yun Qi’s eyes enlarged before narrowing into slits.
Standing 100 metres away from him stood Tang Yin. A black, menacing armour adorned his body.
The armour was an intimidating ensemble crafted from dark, iridescent metal with jagged, obsidian-like plates. Adorned with intricate, shifting runes that emitted an eerie, pulsating glow, the armour exuded a foreboding aura. The helm featured a fearsome visage with glowing eyes and sharp horns, while spikes and jagged edges accentuated the gauntlets, greaves, and pauldrons. It was the Abyssal Armour!
The Abyssal Armour was currently heavily damaged. However, it still existed. Due to the large amount of energy devoured from the explosion, the Abyssal Armour rapidly regenerated itself. It was even stronger than before its activation!
This was the first time Tang Yin had utilized the Abyssal Armour ever since obtaining it from the Heaven Devouring Abyssal Sanskrit.
From the armour’s ability to survive a surprise attack from a Mid-stage Principle Manipulation Realm cultivator, Tang Yin was already satisfied with its defensive capabilities.
"Spatial Blade." Yun Qi made a descending motion with his arm. Although nothing seemed to be happening, Tang Yin could see a blade condensed from pure Space Principles shooting in his direction with the Heaven Piercing Gaze.
Tang Yin activated the Phantom Steps and retreated, leaving countless afterimages in his path. However, his pupils quickly constricted into pinpoints.
No matter how much he retreated, the distance between himself and the Spatial Blade did not widen. Instead, with the Spatial Blade’s speed, it virtually arrived before him instantly.
Tang Yin had no choice but to counterattack. A black aura of death emanated from his right hand whilst the distinct tattoo of a skull manifested on the back of his right hand. Life and Death Seal!
Tang Yin did not have time to Devour a Demonic Beast, as a result, he had to power the Life and Death Seal with his own vitality.
However, with the powerful vitality of his Mid-stage Principle Manipulation Realm body, the Life and Death Seal did not consume much of his vitality.
Without any delay, Tang Yin sent a punch towards the incoming Spatial Blade.
BOOOM
A huge explosion immediately took place upon impact. Violent shockwaves rapidly spread out, they were so powerful, that even the surrounding space tremored.
An arrogant smirk surfaced on Yun Qi’s face. This was how most of his opponents either died or got severely injured.
With his control over Space Principles, he could temporarily shrink the space between his attack and the opponent. No matter how much the opponent retreated, no distance would be created between them and the attack. Most of his opponents would be unprepared for such a surprise as everything would happen too quickly.
Yun Qi looked ahead at the explosion, expecting to see a severely injured Tang Yin appear.
