Chapter 318: Divination
Within a dark room, 3 people stood around a white-cloaked person.
The white-cloaked person was seated on the floor with a crystal ball in his hands. Due to the white cloak, none of their features or expressions could be discerned.
Of the 3 people, one was a red-haired old man, the other one appeared as an eccentric old man whilst the last one was a normal middle-aged man. They were Li Zun, Qian Zhong and Ku Tai!
"Virtuous Enigma, how is it? What can you see?" Li Zun asked with impatience.
The white-cloaked person known as Virtuous Enigma remained silent for a few seconds before responding, "My divination is being blocked. Either Feng Tian possesses a precious item that can shield against divination, or Heaven and Earth themselves disapprove of anyone attempting to scry into him." The voice, deep and unmistakably masculine, resonated with fatigue.
"I don’t care about that. I just want to know whether he is alive or dead." Li Zun’s impatience worsened.
"I’m not sure." Virtuous Enigma answered.
"We didn’t hire you for no answers!" Li Zun shouted with outrage. He was on the verge of slapping Virtuous Enigma to death.
"I can refund half of Senior’s funds for the inconvenience and failure of the divination." Virtuous Enigma said with a sigh. Although he sounded mysterious and enigmatic, he was scared shitless internally. He was quite confident in the power of his divination, it rarely ever failed him. But now, things were much worse since his clients were 3 Law Domain Realm cultivators.
"Is there nothing you can do? Perhaps a powerful divination technique or at least something that can garner some sort of answer?" Ku Tai asked whilst Qian Zhong calmed Li Zun.
"There is a powerful divination technique that I can employ. However, the backlash to my soul is quite severe." Virtuous Enigma responded after a few moments of silence. The technique he was talking about was his most powerful divination skill. But he rarely utilized it due to the severe backlash on his soul. He would only utilize it if he was paid enough.
The 3 Law Domain Realm cultivators looked at each other. The insinuation of Virtuous Enigma’s words was quite obvious. ’If you want me to use this technique, pay me extra.’
"What if this powerful divination technique of yours doesn’t work?" Li Zun asked coldly. He was starting to doubt his decision of hiring a Divinator.
"If the technique does not work, I will refund everything back to Seniors." Virtuous Enigma replied almost instantaneously.
Li Zun, Qian Zhong and Ku Tai did not need to think too much about the offer. They quickly accepted and made their payments.

Back at the Neutral Cultivation Alliance Branch, Tang Yin had already met Liu Hao and had accepted a Tier 7 mission.
From his previous experiences, he had learnt that missions requiring the execution and killing of Demonic Beasts gave the most contribution points. Most of the missions allowed the cultivators to keep the Demonic Beast’s corpses, which netted them extra contribution points.
Tang Yin had already left the Neutral Cultivation Alliance Branch, he was heading towards the location of his mission.
He only travelled for about 10 minutes before coming to a stop. Tang Yin quickly sent his divine sense into his Soul Sea, he could see that the Soul Sanctuary was violently fluctuating with white light. It was much more intense compared to before.
’At this rate, it won’t be long before the Soul Sanctuary crumbles. It seems that the Divinator is using a powerful divination technique.’ Tang Yin was not flustered though.
His soul’s power was only at the Mid-stage of the Principle Manipulation Realm. It was only natural that the Soul Sanctuary wouldn’t last long against a powerful divination technique cast by someone of at least the Late-stage Principle Manipulation Realm.
There was no need to wait for the Soul Sanctuary to crumble. It was still a valuable piece of defence for Tang Yin’s soul. Since he had the luxury to prevent it from permanent damage, he would naturally do so.
Tang Yin promptly entered the Abyss Firmament without hesitation.

"What happened this time?" Li Zun asked when he sensed Virtuous Enigma’s aura deteriorate sharply.
"The divination was successful!" Virtuous Enigma responded with a prideful grin. However, his soul had been damaged by the backlash of his divination technique. Therefore, his voice was a bit hoarse.
"But I don’t see anything inside that crystal ball of yours." Qian Zhong remarked with doubt.
"That’s because my divination was not blocked, but neither did I obtain any results. This means that Feng Tian is either dead or has escaped the boundaries of Heaven and Earth. But the second outcome is impossible. Not even a Law Creation Realm Senior can escape the clutches of Heaven and Earth." Virtuous Enigma explained in detail, afraid that the 3 Seniors before him would not believe him.
"That’s good then. Looks like our worry was for nought. However, if we find out that you’re lying... Hehe." Li Zun threatened sinisterly.

Tang Yin stayed inside the Abyss Firmament for a whole day.
This was his last resort plan in case the Soul Sanctuary failed him, entering the Abyss Firmament!
From what he had learned from the Heaven Devouring Abyssal Sanskrit when he was given the Abyss Firmament, divination and prophecies regarding him would not work if he was inside the Abyss Firmament.
It could be likened to 2 ponds, one big, one small.
The big pond was the True Martial World whilst the small pond was the Abyss Firmament.
Virtuous Enigma was using his powerful divination technique to search for Tang Yin in the big pond. However, Tang Yin had left the big pond and entered the small pond.
Tang Yin left the jurisdiction and control of Heaven and Earth whenever he entered the Abyss Firmament. But he also didn’t enter the control of another Heaven and Earth, after all, he was the Heaven and Earth of the Abyss Firmament.
Although the small pond was smaller than the big pond, it was still a pond, nonetheless.
Tang Yin was just a normal fish inside the big pond. However, once he entered the small pond, he automatically became the master of the small pond since it belonged to him.
Of course, there were still limitations to this. If a cultivator infinitely stronger than Tang Yin performed divination on him, the Abyss Firmament’s protection might waver or be breached.
But this depended on the Abyss Firmament’s size. If it was small, its breach would be highly likely. However, if the Abyss Firmament’s size was larger and it had many environments and ecosystems within, any attempted breach would most likely be unsuccessful.
Currently, the Abyss Firmament was quite small, only 10 kilometres large with no environment or ecosystem. It was simply just a 10-kilometre large expanse of grassland.
However, Virtuous Enigma was only a Late-stage Principle Manipulation Realm cultivator. Even if he sacrificed his life to fuel the divination, it could not breach the Abyss Firmament’s barriers.
On the other hand, if a Law Creation Realm cultivator performed the divination instead, the Abyss Firmament would most likely be breached with its current size.
Another limitation of the Abyss Firmament was divination itself. If Tang Yin performed divination inside the Abyss Firmament, he could only do so within the boundaries of the Abyss Firmament.
He would not be able to perform divination on anything outside of the Abyss Firmament if he was inside it whilst performing the divination.
Tang Yin glanced at Xiao Fei’s huge body inside the Abyss Firmament before leaving. It was still in its previous state of evolution. There were no changes at all.
’The flow of time inside the Abyss Firmament is the same as the outside world. It should take at least another year or two for her to awaken.’ Tang Yin estimated.
Tang Yin did not need Xiao Fei’s assistance at the moment. He swiftly left the Abyss Firmament after performing his last check on her.
He quickly sent his divine sense into his Soul Sea. As expected, the Soul Sanctuary around his Soul Sea did not display any reaction. Nobody was performing divination on him at the moment.
Tang Yin only knew the basics of divination. This knowledge was mostly obtained from the memories he had plundered from the cultivators he had killed and Tian Huang’s jade token.
As a result, he did not know that the 3 Law Domain Realm cultivators and Virtuous Enigma had already deemed him dead. So, he kept his vigilance at his peak.
Most of his attention and divine sense was on his surroundings, while he left a small fragment of his divine sense inside his Soul Sea to monitor any reactions from the Soul Sanctuary.
Tang Yin continued towards the location of his mission as if nothing had happened.
As for Li Zun, Qian Zhong and Ku Tai, they headed back towards their places of dwelling. They had already sent some of their subordinates to report the matter of the Serene Rainfall Region’s damage to their respective Rank 8 Organizations.
For now, they just needed to wait for the Rank 8 Organizations’ responses. They would deal with things according to those responses. But most of this wouldn’t have anything to do with Feng Tian since he was already dead.
