Chapter 279: Killing Three Rank 7 Demonic Beasts and Future Plan
Although battling and killing the Jade Elk was not prohibited, it would certainly draw way too much attention.
’Is it worth exposing my power and abilities to kill an infamous Peak-tier Rank 7 Demonic Beast.’ Tang Yin thought. From what he knew about the Jade Elk, it possessed powerful healing abilities. The battle could not be concluded in a short amount of time or be hidden.
So far, he deemed that it was not really worth killing the Jade Elk. After all, there were many Peak-tier Rank 7 Demonic Beasts in the Bright Yang Continent. He could just find another one that wasn’t as famous or high profile as the Peak-tier Rank 7 Jade Elk.
For now, he decided to focus on the 3 other targets he had chosen to kill.
The first target was a Low-tier Rank 7 Lava Serpent.
The Lava Serpent possessed incredible strength and agility, capable of slithering through the air as if it were swimming through water.
One of the most powerful abilities of the Lava Serpent was its ability to somewhat control the Principle of Lava. Due to only being at the Low-tier, its control over Lava Principles was not too prominent.
It was only around 200 kilometres away from Tang Yin. It resided inside a large volcano.
Tang Yin spread out his divine sense to encompass a radius of 50 kilometres around him. With a constant perception of his surroundings, nothing could ambush him or escape his notice.
Tang Yin cut through the air and made his way towards the large volcano where the Lava Serpent resided. He made sure to retract his aura and not make any commotion as he flew, nobody even noticed the small shadow that glided past them.
Within a couple of minutes, Tang Yin arrived before the large volcano. The volcano was around 30 kilometres large and had a height of 4,000 meters. Black smoke constantly rushed out from the top.
Tang Yin sent his divine sense into the volcano, he instantly found the Lava Serpent. The Lava Serpent was around 10 kilometres long and 400 metres wide, it resided at the bottom of the volcano.
Its scales were an obsidian type of black, and it had fiery red stripes adorning its colossal body. Its eyes glowed a powerful orange colour, it almost seemed as if its eyes were made out of lava. Its fangs were razoring sharp, and constant steam evacuated from its nostrils. Currently, its body was coiled at the bottom of the large volcano.
Tang Yin formed a hundred Soul Needles with his divine sense and shot them at the Lava Serpent’s Beast Soul.
HISSS
An enraged hiss filled with agony rang out from the large volcano.
BOOM
The top of the large volcano exploded into rubble and a gigantic black serpent rushed out. It was constantly hissing and thrashing its body around in agony.
It had been slumbering at the bottom of the volcano, absorbing the energy of the lava and the volcano. Suddenly, its Beast Soul was attacked by a hundred sharp needles.
With severe fury, it constantly whipped its head around to find the perpetrator. Then the Lava Serpent’s eyes focused on the lone figure standing in the sky.
This figure had blood-red hair, abyssal black pupils and a devilishly handsome appearance. Xiao Fei was nowhere to be seen, Tang Yin had temporarily stored her away inside the Azure Luan Pouch.
The Lava Serpent’s tail suddenly burnt with an orange light. It was not dazzling, but instead dull and weak looking.
The Lava Serpent whipped its tail towards Tang Yin. A large ball of concentrated lava flew towards Tang Yin.
Tang Yin was slightly surprised. The Lava Serpent had utilized its control over Lava Principles to conjure up this ball of sizzling lava.
The ball of lava was extremely quick. But for Tang Yin, it was as if it were moving in slow motion. He simply side-stepped to avoid the ball of lava.
He also didn’t stay idle after dodging the attack, he shot towards the Lava Serpent with extreme speed.
BOOM
Before the Lava Serpent could even react, Tang Yin had punched its colossal body. A huge amount of its obsidian-coloured scales shattered, some of its bones were broken as well, and it coughed up huge gallons of blood.
Only now did the Lava Serpent realise that it was facing a powerful enemy and that it could possibly face death if it did not fight back seriously.
"Human, die!" The Lava Serpent hissed with a hoarse voice. It manipulated the surrounding Lava Principles to coat its body in a layer of solid magma. It then thrust its tail towards Tang Yin.
Whilst the Lava Serpent was preparing its attack, Tang Yin did not remain stationary. He had swiftly absorbed the corpse of a Rank 5 Demonic Beast. A black aura of death surrounded his right fist, and the tattoo of a black skull emerged on the back of his hand. Life and Death Seal!
Tang Yin sent out a punch with his right hand containing the Life and Death Seal towards the incoming tail laced with Lava Principles.
BANG
The sound of an explosion rang out from the collision.
Tang Yin was pushed back by a hundred feet. His right hand was somewhat bleeding, but it quickly recovered due to Passive Regeneration.
However, the Lava Serpent was not doing so well. The layer of solid magma coating its body had been blasted apart, and its tail was transformed into a bloody mess. It was bleeding profusely.
Tang Yin smirked. He once again charged towards the injured Lava Serpent...

A week flowed by seamlessly.
Tang Yin had already killed the Lava Serpent and taken its corpse, Demonic Beast Core and Beast Soul.
That wasn’t all though. He had also accomplished his goal of killing three Rank 7 Demonic Beasts. Naturally, the Lava Serpent was one of these 3 Demonic Beasts. The other 2 were Mid-tier Rank 7 Demonic Beasts, a Thunder Scale Lizard and a Diamondback Bison.
By now, Tang Yin had 4 Rank 7 Demonic Beast corpses, 5 Beast Souls and 5 Demonic Beast Cores. They belonged to the Three-Tailed Ice Wolf, an Ironclad Armadillo, a Lava Serpent, a Thunder Scale Lizard and a Diamondback Bison.
From battling and killing these 5 Demonic Beasts, Tang Yin now possessed an accurate measurement of his strength. He also realised his weaknesses, one of them being his cultivation base.
Due to his cultivation base being at the Spirit Ascension Realm, all of his Martial Skills except for the soul type Martial Skills and the Life and Death Seal had become useless.
They were extremely weak and ineffective against Rank 7 Demonic Beasts. His cultivation base was lacking. Once his soul, body and cultivation base reached the same realm, he would be unparalleled in that specific realm.
Tang Yin also decided not to kill the Peak-tier Rank 7 Jade Elk. He already possessed an accurate measurement of his strength and no longer needed to battle Demonic Beasts.
He had also understood that there were many Principle Manipulation Realm cultivators in the Emerald Beast Region that had noticed the disappearance and battle fluctuations of the Lava Serpent, Thunder Scale Lizard and the Diamondback Bison.
Luckily, Tang Yin was already long gone once their divine senses arrived at the place of battle. They were unable to locate or identify the person that had killed these 3 powerful Demonic Beasts.
The Principle Manipulation Realm cultivators were also livid. The Emerald Beast Region was a place of creation for Spirit Beasts, not a hunting ground for Demonic Beasts.
Although the Lava Serpent, Thunder Scale Lizard and Diamondback Bison did not belong to anyone, there were multiple Principle Manipulation Realm cultivators that had their eye on these Demonic Beasts.
But due to their abrupt deaths, these Principle Manipulation Realm cultivators had to search for different Demonic Beasts to tame.
Thinking about all of this, Tang Yin knew that the opportunity to kill Rank 7 Demonic Beasts had come to an end. If he tried to hunt more, he would eventually be discovered and would need to explain himself to multiple Principle Manipulation Realm cultivators.
Obviously, Tang Yin did not care. He had already gauged his strength and had already planned his next course of action. If he needed to battle more Demonic Beasts, he would just go to a different Region.
The plan now was to reach the Peak-stage of the Spirit Ascension Realm and face the 9 Tribulations.
Tang Yin wanted to gather the Lightning Essence of the Tribulation Lightning for the Nine Heavens Divine Lightning.
For now, he needed to go into seclusion, reach the peak of the Spirit Ascension Realm and consolidate his cultivation.
This was not difficult as his soul had already reached the Mid-stage of the Principle Manipulation Realm. He could advance his cultivation to the Peak-stage of the Spirit Ascension Realm without any obstacles. It would only take a bit of time to consolidate his cultivation base during each minor breakthrough.
