Chapter 270: Starlight Veil and Nine Heavens Divine Lightning
6 more months flowed by in the blink of an eye.
Currently, Tang Yin was still located inside the Dark Green Bamboo Grove.
But the Dark Green Bamboo Grove was almost unrecognizable. Broken dark green bamboo stalks were everywhere. It seemed that they had been obliterated into tiny pieces by a powerful force and scattered all over the grove.
However, the ground seemed perfectly fine and in normal condition if one ignored the broken dark green bamboo stalks everywhere.
This was naturally the result of Tang Yin’s training. Over the past 6 months, he had been constantly practising the Devastating Void Roar.
By now, he had already mastered the Devastating Void Roar, but it had truly taken quite a lot of practice, effort, time and energy to master the Martial Skill.
Tang Yin was sure that this was the most complex Martial Skill he had ever learned. But from what he had seen, the power of the Devastating Void Roar was astonishing and monstrous.
From his estimation, a Mid-stage Principle Manipulation Realm cultivator would be seriously injured if not dead if they were directly hit by the Devastating Void Roar.
Other than this, Tang Yin had consumed another 16 drops of Myriad Spirit Milk to replenish his Soul Energy during the last 6 months to continue his training without stopping.
He had also made sure not to damage the foundation of the Dark Green Bamboo Grove.
The broken dark green bamboo stalks littered everywhere were replaceable. They also did not cost too much to replace.
However, the foundation of the Dark Green Bamboo Grove would cost way too much to repair if it were damaged or broken.
When Tang Yin said that he would not damage the environment of the Heavenly Bamboo Region, he meant the foundation of the Dark Green Bamboo Grove.
The Early-stage Principle Manipulation Realm cultivator also knew this. This was one of the reasons why he had allowed Tang Yin to train in the Dark Green Bamboo Grove.
The Council of the Heavenly Bamboo Region had complained to the Early-stage Principle Manipulation Realm cultivator about Tang Yin’s stay in the Dark Green Bamboo Grove, they were unhappy.
They wanted him gone. They only viewed him as a disdainful cultivator who leeched off their resources. However, the Early-stage Principle Manipulation Realm cultivator only sent out an ultimatum.
’Anyone who approaches the Dark Green Bamboo Grove will be executed immediately.’
The Council were baffled, but they had no choice but to bottle up their emotions and desires. They knew their master, he would not do this without a good reason.
Tang Yin obviously did not know this, but even if he did, he would not care.
All Principle Comprehension Realm cultivators were weak little children in his eyes now. Although it was an exaggeration to say that he could kill them with a slap, it wasn’t far from the truth.
Now that he had mastered the Devastating Void Roar, it was time to leave the Dark Green Bamboo Grove and return to the underground cave.
Tang Yin spread out his divine sense again to encompass the Heavenly Bamboo Region.
"Hm? Fellow Cultivator, are you done with your training?" The deep voice of the Early-stage Principle Manipulation Realm cultivator spoke in Tang Yin’s mind.
"I have finished my training. The Dark Green Bamboo Grove is largely untouched, but you might need someone to clean it up." Tang Yin casually responded.
He could also feel the Early-stage Principle Manipulation Realm cultivator sweep his divine sense through the Dark Green Bamboo Region. He was confirming Tang Yin’s words to check if they were true.
After confirming that Tang Yin’s words were true, he let out a sigh of relief.
"Thank you for keeping your promise. My name is Zhu Ren, and I would like to invite Fellow Cultivator to my palace for a cup of tea." Zhu Ren politely invited.
Tang Yin thought for a moment before tactically declining. "I must decline. But if there is a chance in the future, I will be sure to visit Fellow Cultivator Zhu’s palace."
Tang Yin did not see the need to visit Zhu Ren. Every piece of knowledge he needed was already recorded in Tian Huang’s jade token. There were not many benefits Zhu Ren could provide him with.
"That is unfortunate. I wish Fellow Cultivator a safe journey." Zhu Ren spoke with regret. But he did not particularly care as long as Tang Yin did not harm the Heavenly Bamboo Region.
After exchanging pleasantries with Zhu Ren, Tang Yin felt Zhu Ren’s divine sense recede out of respect for his privacy.
After all, if he used his divine sense to constantly watch another cultivator, it would be considered disrespectful and could lead to enmity from the other party.
Once Tang Yin felt Zhu Ren’s divine sense leave, he also left the Dark Green Bamboo Grove. He returned to his underground cave, he still needed to do more stuff before he completely left seclusion.
If he did not need to learn the Devastating Void Roar, he would not have temporarily left seclusion in the first place.
When Tang Yin returned to the underground cave, everything was the same. It had only been 7 months, nothing in this timeframe could have possibly changed.
Tang Yin sat down and contemplated the next soul-type Martial Skill he wanted to learn. In fact, he had already made his choice, but he was just thinking about some other miscellaneous stuff.
After putting those unimportant things to the back of his head, Tang Yin focused on the next Martial Skill he wanted to learn.
It was a Tier 3 Martial Skill named Starlight Veil.
The Starlight Veil that Tang Yin had decided to learn was a defensive soul-type Martial Skill.
It would create a shimmering, translucent veil around the user, providing a stable defence against soul and divine sense attacks. The veil would be made out of tiny, star-like particles that would emit a soft glow, which would help to somewhat disorientate opponents and obscure the user’s movements.
The Starlight Veil’s main defensive ability was to siphon as much Soul Energy from the opponent’s soul attack and whittle it down to something harmless. This would make the Starlight Veil ideal in both one-on-one and group battles.
In addition to its defensive properties, the Starlight Veil could also be used to create distractions and obscure the user’s movements by creating illusory duplicates or an array of dazzling light, making it difficult for opponents to keep track of the user’s movements.
Overall, the Starlight Veil focused on defence and illusion. It was highly effective in blocking an opponent’s attack and helping the user move around unhindered.
The Starlight Veil was not particularly difficult to learn. It would only take a bit of practice.
In terms of Soul Energy consumption, the Starlight Veil did not use up too much Soul Energy unless the user wanted extraordinary effects through its illusion properties.
It only took Tang Yin a bit over a month to master the Tier 3 Martial Skill, Starlight Veil.
Finally, there was one last Martial Skill that Tang Yin wanted to learn, or rather memorize.
It was a Tier 1 Martial Skill...
It was one of the only two Tier 1 Martial Skills in Tian Huang’s jade token.
Tang Yin obviously couldn’t learn such a Martial Skill at the moment, but he would be able to once he reached the Peak-stage of the Spirit Ascension Realm.
The Tier 1 Martial Skill was called Nine Heavens Divine Lightning.
Tang Yin would need to gather 9 different types of lightning and refine them using a special method recorded inside the manual to cultivate the Nine Heavens Divine Lightning.
Once all of these 9 different types of lightning had been refined using this special method, one would need to fuse them together with another special method to obtain the Nine Heavens Divine Lightning.
The overall power of the Nine Heavens Divine Lightning would depend on the power of the 9 different types of lightning one refined.
That was to say that if one gathered 9 different lightning bolts that were weak, the resulting Nine Heavens Divine Lightning would also be weak. The opposite was also true.
The first type of lightning that Tang Yin wished to obtain and refine was the Tribulation Lightning that he would face if he wanted to advance to the Principle Comprehension Realm.
This was why he would only be able to start cultivating this Tier 1 Martial Skill when he reached the Peak-stage of the Spirit Ascension Realm.
Of course, there was much more to the Nine Heavens Divine Lightning than this, but these were the main requirements needed to even be eligible to refine the Nine Heavens Divine Lightning.
However, no matter what 9 types of lightning Tang Yin decided to refine, even the weakest resulting Nine Heavens Divine Lightning would be monstrously powerful.
In fact, it would be so ridiculously powerful that even Law Creation Realm cultivators would be almost helpless before the Nine Heavens Divine Lightning!
