Chapter 258: Escape
The Head Elder pointed downwards and made an odd seal with his hands. "Soaring Phoenix Strike."
A thousand feet below, a white hole appeared in the sky. It was circular with a diameter of 40 meters.
A burst of white flames sprouted from the white hole. The flames exploded forward from the white hole and took the form of a white phoenix. It was around 70 feet large and had an exquisite appearance.
With an artificial screech, the white phoenix soared into the sky, right towards Tang Yin.
’It should be time.’ A metallic blue token with a sword engraving appeared in Tang Yin’s hand. It was the metallic blue sword token he had obtained from Liu Wen in the Exotic Enclosure Region!
Tang Yin directly destroyed the metallic blue sword token. This was the only way to awaken the dormant attack within.
BANG
With a huge bang, a large golden sword manifested in the sky. It was around 100 feet large and shone with a sacred light.
Tang Yin could feel the destructive power of the Peak-stage Principle Comprehension Realm radiate from the sacred sword.
The Head Elder’s eyes opened wide with shock. "That’s the Divine Sword Palace Master’s aura! You’re not Du Gu Min, who are you?"
He had believed from the beginning that the person he wanted to capture was Du Gu Min, a disciple of the Martial Beast Sect.
However, the moment the sacred sword with the aura of the Divine Sword Palace Master’s aura appeared, he had come to the realisation that he had been fooled. It was an utter humiliation to a dignified Head Elder like him.
Tang Yin did not respond. Instead, he shot towards Xiao Fei.
The sacred sword instantly shot through the white phoenix, destroying it with an insane penetrating force.
The Head Elder gnashed his teeth with intense hatred and resentment. The sacred sword was extremely powerful even for the Peak-stage Principle Comprehension Realm.
He could not neutralise it with just his cultivation base alone because he was below average amongst Peak-stage Principle Comprehension Realm cultivators. However, this was without his Spirit Beasts.
After piercing through the Soaring Phoenix Strike, the sacred sword lost 40% of its power. Nevertheless, it continued towards the Head Elder whilst bringing destruction in its path.
By now, the 10 Spirit Ascension Realm disciples of the Martial Beast Sect had retreated so far that they could not see the battlefield anymore.
Tang Yin’s Abyss Emperor Transformation was still active. By utilizing the Phantom Steps, he instantly arrived before Xiao Fei. Without hesitation, he boarded her back.
"Is it active yet?" He quickly asked.
"En, I just need a second more." Xiao Fei responded solemnly.
Tang Yin looked back with a pondering gaze. With the sacred sword’s power, it should be able to buy him a second or maybe even more.
The Head Elder tapped a ring on one of his fingers. It was an Artifact which could store the Spirit Beasts of Spirit Beast Tamers, it was much more advanced than Tang Yin’s Azure Luan pouch.
A black blur appeared a moment later. It was revealed to be a black leopard with razor-sharp claws and teeth. Its coat was as dark as the night sky, and its eyes glowed with an eerie green light. It moved with a graceful, predatory gait as if it were ready to pounce on its prey.
After the black blur, a burst of golden-orange flames exploded forth.
The orange flames revealed a figure inside. It was a large lion with a majestic fiery mane and tail. Its coat was as golden as the sun, and its eyes blazed with an intense, burning light. Its muscles rippled under its fur, and its claws and teeth were as sharp as blades.
Lastly, after the orange flames, an icy mist turned the surroundings hazy.
The icy haze parted to reveal a massive serpent with shimmering scales that glinted like ice in the light. Its eyes were icy blue, and its fangs were as sharp as daggers. Its long sinuous body was as white as snow, and it moved with a fluid, undulating motion that was both hypnotic and deadly.
Tang Yin recognized these Spirit Beasts, they were somewhat mentioned and introduced in Tian Huang’s jade tokens. He had not recorded Mortal Step Demonic Beasts in the jade tokens as there were too many. However, Principle Step Demonic Beasts were noteworthy.
The black leopard was a Shadow Panther. Its strength relied on speed and concealment, perfect for assassination. It was a High-tier Rank 6 Demonic Beast.
The icy serpent was a Glacial Snow Serpent. It was most proficient in speed, offence and illusion. It was one of the stronger High-tier Rank 6 Demonic Beasts.
Lastly, the golden lion was the strongest. It was a Golden Sun Lion. Most of its attributes were very powerful and it prevailed in offence. It was a Peak-tier Rank 6 Demonic Beast.
The Golden Sun Lion was one of the stronger Demonic Beasts with higher potential. It was more powerful than the average Peak-stage Principle Comprehension Realm cultivator.
The Shadow Panther, Glacial Snow Serpent and the Golden Sun Lion were the strongest Spirit Beasts that the Head Elder possessed.
’I’m lucky that the Head Elder took me lightly, otherwise, that Golden Sun lion alone would have decimated me instantly.’ Tang Yin let out a soft sigh of relief.
Even in the Exotic Enclosure Region with the Tyrant Ape King and the Crimson Feathered Luan under his command, Tang Yin would not dare to fight something as powerful as the Golden Sun Lion.
However, the sacred sword was no pushover. With its power, it could injure the Golden Sun Lion to some degree.
Unfortunately, with the Glacial Snow Serpent present, the sacred sword could pose no danger.
The Golden Sun Lion simply spat out a large ball of golden-orange flames while the Glacial Snow Serpent condensed around 20 icicles and projected them to the incoming sacred sword.
As for the Shadow Panther, it had already disappeared with the Head Elder.
Tang Yin’s pupils shrank. He instantly summoned thousands upon thousands of Void Chains to surround him and Xiao Fei.

The Golden Sun Lion and the Glacial Snow Serpent’s attacks first collided with the sacred sword, instantly stopping its momentum before destroying the attack altogether.
CLANG
The deafening sound of metal grating against metal reverberated through the sky.
"I don’t know who you are, but it doesn’t matter. Obediently hand over the treasure you obtained from the Exotic Enclosure Region, and I’ll spare your life." The Head Elder’s words resounded from outside the Void Chains.
The moment Tang Yin saw the Head Elder disappear with the Shadow Panther, he realised that he was in danger. While the Golden Sun Lion and the Glacial Snow Serpent dealt with the sacred sword, the Head Elder and the Shadow Panther targeted him.
The sound of metal colliding with metal was the sound of the Shadow Panther destroying hundreds of Void Chains with a single swipe of its claws.
Although Tang Yin’s Martial Skills grew with him, he was still an Early-stage Spirit Ascension Realm cultivator. The Void Chains could not withstand the attacks of a High-tier Rank 6 Demonic Beast.
The Head Elder felt a sense of foreboding in his heart. Therefore, he did not remain idle whilst the Shadow Panther attacked the Void Chains, he also attacked with his Martial Skills.
Under the bombardment of a Peak-stage Principle Comprehension Realm cultivator and a High-tier Rank 6 Demonic Beast, the thousands of Void Chains were torn apart in an instant.
What appeared behind the myriads of Void Chains sent the Head Elder into a panic.
Tang Yin was standing on Xiao Fei’s back. In front of Xiao Fei was a large black hole, it constantly warped and distorted.
"Don’t let them escape, catch them!" The Head Elder shouted to the Shadow Panther. He had realised what was happening upon seeing the tear in space.
The Shadow Panther pounced towards Xiao Fei, intending to rip her to shreds.
However, a quarter of her body was already inside the tear in space. Unfortunately, that was not enough.
Tang Yin could not let Xiao Fei get injured, otherwise, her Space Warp would be cancelled.
He summoned all of his refined Killing Intent and created a barrier around him and Xiao Fei. He also secretly took of his storage ring and swallowed it.
This was not enough to stop the Shadow Panther though. It tore through the barrier of the Ethereal Slaughter Art and arrived before Tang Yin.
By now, half of Xiao Fei’s body was already inside the tear in space.
The Shadow Panther swiped its claws, Tang Yin could do nothing except defend himself with his arms.
The Shadow Panther’s claws sliced through Tang Yin’s arms like butter. Its claws then proceeded to tear apart half of his torso.
Tang Yin grimaced in pain, but he still reacted quickly and kicked the Shadow Panther with his left leg.
This action only knocked the Shadow Panther back by a few meters. However, it was enough.
Before the Shadow Panther could attack again, Xiao Fei and the almost dead Tang Yin entered the tear in space and escaped by utilizing Xiao Fei’s Space Warp.
