Chapter 253: Chaotic Displacement Zone

Tang Yin had seen this old man in the Alchemy Association’s Branch. He was their strongest disciple to enter the Exotic Enclosure Region this time.

’Is it worth it? I’ve already made quite a large harvest. I’ve also only got a day to plunder one more area. However, if I fight this old man, I’ll lose precious time that I could otherwise use to kill and plunder more cultivators.’

’He is also from the Alchemy Association, the only resources he has collected in the Exotic Enclosure Region are most likely a bunch of Medicinal Herbs, which I don’t particularly need.’

After a bit more deliberation, Tang Yin decided to not waste his time killing this old man. Sure, there were many benefits to killing the old man, such as his powerful soul, high-grade corpse, a large variety of Medicinal Herbs, etc.

However, Tang Yin could use this time to collect the bodies, souls, wealth and resources of multiple Spirit Ascension Realm cultivators. He would gain more benefits if he spent his time plundering another area rather than spending most of it on one person.

Xiao Fei commanded the Crimson Feathered Luan to leave the Ancestral River Canyon.

The old man with a kind sagely appearance did not realise that his life had just been spared due to Tang Yin’s decision of him not being worth the hassle. He was still cluelessly trying to find more rare and precious Medicinal Herbs for the Alchemy Association.

As Tang Yin slowly flew away, the information of his next target appeared in his mind.

This zone was also a commonly investigated area by Spirit Ascension Realm cultivators who entered the Exotic Enclosure Region. It was called the Chaotic Displacement Zone.

The Chaotic Displacement Zone was bizarre. It was a well-rounded area where one could find any type of resource or Demonic Beast that they required. However, there was a twist to this.

The wildlife and resources in the Chaotic Displacement Zone could be found anywhere. A divine herb could be found on the outskirts of the Chaotic Displacement Zone, whereas a normal plant could be found at the depths of the Chaotic Displacement Zone.

Rank 6 Demonic Beasts could also be found at random areas in the Chaotic Displacement Zone, sometimes at the periphery, sometimes at the core, literally anywhere.

The truly strange part was that everything shifted in the blink of an eye. If a heavenly treasure appeared on the outskirts of the Chaotic Displacement Zone, it could disappear the next day, only to reappear in the core of the Chaotic Displacement Zone. This also happened frequently with Demonic Beasts, but since Demonic Beasts were living creatures, it was not too unnatural.

This was where the Chaotic Displacement Zone obtained its name from it, exactly how the area functioned.

One could walk through the entire Chaotic Displacement Zone without encountering a Demonic Beast for the complete duration of the journey, whereas others could find precious resources frequently with little danger.

The opposite was also true. One could encounter life and death situations one after another, without obtaining any treasures.

Of course, such situations were rare, but not unheard of. Everything in the Chaotic Displacement Zone relied on luck.

The Chaotic Displacement Zone was also extremely large. One could find themselves inside environments such as deserts, swamps, mountains, valleys, gorges, etc. Almost every type of terrain could be found in the Chaotic Displacement Zone.

However, similar to everything else, these terrains also shifted around. They could be at the outskirts at one moment and reappear at the depths of the Chaotic Displacement Zone in the next moment.

The Chaotic Displacement Zone was peculiar. Nobody knew why it functioned like this. After trying to find the cause for the Chaotic Displacement Zone working this way for many millennia with no answers, practically all of the curious cultivators gave up. They just accepted that such a unique region existed.

It did not matter what cultivation base a cultivator possessed. If they were lucky, they could obtain lots of resources with little danger.

However, if one was unlucky, then even a Peak-stage Spirit Ascension Realm cultivator would have to suffer in the Chaotic Displacement Zone.

Therefore, it did not matter what type of cultivators entered the Chaotic Displacement Zone, everything depended on a factor that humans could not control, luck.

Cultivators were brave and curious individuals. They would naturally want to test their luck, and what better place was there to do so other than the Chaotic Displacement Zone?

Tang Yin was confident in his strength. He also didn’t believe that he was unlucky enough to run into Rank 7 Demonic Beasts or entities that were as strong as Principle Manipulation Realm cultivators. He had already experienced such an incident in the Demon Spirit Cavern, he deemed that such a situation was unlikely to repeat itself.

Tang Yin arrived before a mountain. According to the map given to him by Elder Sun, this was one of the many entrances to the Chaotic Displacement Zone. This entrance just happened to be to closest to him.

Tang Yin did not know how the various predecessors who entered the Exotic Enclosure Region thousands of years ago had figured this out, but he did not particularly care.

Without delay, he entered the Chaotic Displacement Zone with Xiao Fei and the Crimson Feathered Luan.

As the trio traversed the mountain, they did not meet many living beings. Just a few Rank 1 and 2 Demonic Beasts. There also weren’t any resources on the mountain.

However, this was just the beginning. They had just entered the outskirts of the Chaotic Displacement Zone, Tang Yin did not expect to stumble upon a heavenly treasure or a Rank 6 Demonic Beast.

Without any impediment, the group reached the other side of the mountain only to discover a valley.

The trio entered the valley. There were only 2 things of note inside. A slightly rare Medicinal Herb, which Tang Yin harvested. And a Rank 5 Demonic Beast. Tang Yin easily killed the Demonic Beast and stored its Beast Soul in the Beast Soul Receptacle and its corpse inside his storage ring.

After leaving the valley, Tang Yin, Xiao Fei and the Crimson Feathered Luan entered a tremendously large forest.

After crossing through a little bit of the large forest, Tang Yin discovered a Rank 4 and a Rank 5 Demonic Beast, he naturally took these offerings and turned them into corpses.

Just as Tang Yin planned to forge ahead, he stopped. He felt something enter the perception of his divine sense. Upon concentrating on that something, Tang Yin was delighted. It was a cultivator!

This wasn’t enough to make Tang Yin excited though. What made him excited was that this cultivator was Liu Wen! He was a prodigy of the Divine Sword Palace who possessed the Profound Nine Sword Physique.

Tang Yin was quite curious as to whether he would obtain any special benefits from devouring a cultivator with a Cultivation Physique. Liu Wen was the perfect candidate to figure out the answer to this question.

Liu Wen was only a Mid-stage Spirit Ascension Realm Cultivator. Although he could battle Late-stage Spirit Ascension Realm cultivators with his Profound Nine Sword Physique, it was not a problem for Tang Yin.

Tang Yin silently approached Liu Wen alone. He casually walked up to Liu Wen with no reservations.

Liu Wen instantly noticed Tang Yin. He also detected that Tang Yin was an Early-stage Spirit Ascension Realm cultivator. A cruel grin surfaced on his face.

"Well, well, well. What do we have here? A lost lamb." Liu Wen spoke with ridicule. He readied his sword for an attack.

"I have a question." Tang Yin spoke neutrally. He did not make any sudden movements, he languidly walked to Liu Wen.

Liu Wen frowned. For someone about to die, Tang Yin was calm, and it did not seem to be an act. Nevertheless, he still responded. "Seeing how I am about to end your life. I shall answer your last question."

A golden sparkle flashed in Tang Yin’s left eye and a blue glimmer shone in his right eye. "Why are you so-called geniuses and prodigies so arrogant?"

Liu Wen’s eyes slowly drooped, white replacing both of his eyes. The sword in his hand fell out of his grip and onto the ground. A dazed expression surfaced on his face. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮

Liu Wen might be a genius with extremely high potential due to his Cultivation Physique. But in the end, it was only potential. Without sufficient time and resources, a genius could not truly bring out their potential.

Liu Wen might have the battle prowess of a Late-stage Spirit Ascension Realm cultivator, but his soul was still at the Mid-stage. He could in no way resist the Sun-Moon Great Illusion Art cast by Tang Yin’s Mid-stage Principle Comprehension Realm soul.

"Die!" Liu Wen shouted angrily. No one had ever dared to call him arrogant before.

However, just as he lunged at Tang Yin, his reality shattered like glass, and everything turned dark.

Liu Wen did not even realise that he had been cast inside an illusion.

In the real world, Tang Yin had already crushed Liu Wen’s throat and killed him.
