Chapter 232: Creating the Soul Sea
The method to fuse all 9 Spirit Flames into one was quite simple.
All Tang Yin had to do was bring his first Spirit Flame into the eye of the Heaven Devouring Abyss’s vortex. Then with the aid of the Heaven Devouring Abyss, he would need to incorporate each Spirit Flame into the first Spirit Flame separately.
Tang Yin took a deep breath before starting the process. He controlled the first abyssal black Spirit Flame to enter the eye of the black vortex which crackled with black and red lightning, the Heaven Devouring Abyss.
There were no changes, the first Spirit Flame remained stationary inside the Heaven Devouring Abyss.
Tang Yin moved his gaze onto the second Spirit Flame. Similar to the first, he controlled the second Spirit Flame to enter the Heaven Devouring Abyss.
He did not keep it stationary, instead, he made it collide directly with the first Spirit Flame.
Surprisingly, it was as if both of the Spirit Flames were a single entity, without any resistance or struggle, the second Spirit Flame merged into the first Spirit Flame smoothly.
This did not happen quickly though, it took around 3 days to complete the incorporation of the second Spirit Flame into the first.
During the fusion process, Tang Yin felt a faint burning sensation. It was not in his body but inside his soul. It was as if his soul was a flickering flame that was about to be extinguished. He did not know why he felt like this, nothing like this was mentioned in the Heaven Devouring Abyssal Sanskrit either.
Tang Yin did not dwell on this too much though as the burning sensation was not too deep, he could handle it.
Once the second Spirit Flame fused into the first Spirit Flame, there was no noticeable difference, except for the fact that the first Spirit Flame had become purer and vibrant.
Tang Yin also noticed his cultivation base increase slightly. However, it was still far from the peak of the Qi Transformation Realm.
Tang Yin swiftly controlled the third Spirit Flame into the Heaven Devouring Abyss, he made it collide directly with the first Spirit Flame.
A similar scene repeated itself, the third Spirit Flame languidly merged with the first Spirit Flame without any resistance or rejection.
The process this time was slightly quicker, only taking around 2 days and a half. The burning sensation Tang Yin felt was still present, but it had become slightly less painful.
Tang Yin had an inkling that the reason why the third Spirit Flame had merged with the first Spirit Flame faster than the second Spirit Flame was because the first Spirit Flame had become purer, and its devouring capabilities were also enhanced, meaning the Spirit Flame had an easier time merging with the third Spirit Flame compared to the second Spirit Flame.
The first Spirit Flame inside the Heaven Devouring Abyss became much purer, there was even a faint indescribable air passing through it.
Tang Yin controlled the fourth Spirit Flame to enter the Heaven Devouring Abyss to merge with the first Spirit Flame. Nothing out of the ordinary happened, it willingly fused with the first Spirit Flame in 2 days.
The fifth Spirit Flame was then also directed into the Heaven Devouring Abyss to merge with the first Spirit Flame. This was followed by the sixth, seventh, eighth and finally the ninth Spirit Flame.
It took a total of 2 weeks to fuse all eight Spirit Flames into the first Spirit Flame. Now Tang Yin only had a single Spirit Flame inside the Heaven Devouring Abyss.
The Spirit Flame had become slightly larger, it still retained its abyssal black colour. Other than that, it had become so bright and vibrant that it was almost blinding.
The indescribable and pure aura emanating from it was also extremely distinct. Tang Yin did not know the reason for this, every single Spirit Flame he had devoured in the past could not hold a candle with his Spirit Flame. This included the Spirit Flame of the Pink Vapour Clan’s Patriarch.
The burning sensation was also completely gone once the ninth Spirit Flame finished its fusion. Instead, Tang Yin felt a renewed power surge through his body and soul.
The aura from Tang Yin also increase with each fusion, since all 9 Spirit Flames had been fused together, the aura of a peak Qi Transformation Realm cultivator surrounded him. He could even be considered to be half a step into the Spirit Ascension Realm.
Tang Yin took another deep breath, the journey to reach the peak of the Qi Transformation Realm was filled with boundless bloodshed and corpses. However, he did not regret even a single action he had taken since embarking on the path of cultivation.
He believed wholeheartedly that everything he did on his path of cultivation was necessary to become stronger. There was no good or evil, only obtaining power mattered. As for the way to obtain power, almost anything could be done to obtain it.
With his connection with Xiao Fei, Tang Yin knew that nothing out of the ordinary had happened outside his cave abode in these 2 weeks.
Without thinking any further, Tang Yin decided to form his Soul Sea and reach the Spirit Ascension Realm.
Tang Yin looked into the Heaven Devouring Abyssal Sanskrit. As expected, the method to form a Soul Sea was unlocked and visible.
Creating a Soul Sea was extremely difficult, hence the reason for so many Qi Transformation Realm cultivators being unable to enter the Spirit Ascension Realm.
One had to immerse themselves into their soul and mind. Once they were capable of this, they would be in a state of ’enlightenment’.
Whilst in this state of ’enlightenment’, one would need to form a Soul Sea according to their Training Manual. Everyone’s method of forming a Soul Sea was different, however, the outcome would almost always be similar.
Not only was this mentioned in Tian Huang’s jade token, but he had also first hand-witnessed it in the memories of the Patriarch and Matriarch of the Pink Vapour Clan.
Tang Yin brought out an item from his storage ring. It was a sparkling fruit. This was the Spirit Soul Fruit gifted to him by Tian Huang. He had instructed Tang Yin to consume it right before forming his Soul Sea.
Tang Yin believed wholeheartedly in Tian Huang, he munched down on the Spirit Soul Fruit without hesitation.
A warm feeling circulated through his soul as if he had invincible power coursing through his veins.
Tang Yin took a deep breath, closed his eyes and focused on himself, trying to reach this state of ’enlightenment’.
A few hours passed. Tang Yin remained completely still and calm, like an ancient well. He did not know how much time had passed, but it felt like an eternity. He was currently in a completely calm and peaceful state, one would call this ’inner-peace’.
Tang Yin slowly opened his eyes.
What appeared in his vision was a completely empty space. It appeared exactly the same as the void, but in truth was actually completely different. This was the world inside his mind.
Tang Yin raised his hand and looked at himself. His body was surreal. ’This must be my soul’.
Tang Yin knew this was his soul, after all, he had the memories of 2 Spirit Ascension Realm cultivators forming their own Soul Sea. They had also experienced this.
According to the method listed in the Heaven Devouring Abyssal Sanskrit, Tang Yin started to form his Soul Sea.
He waved his arm, and a black light appeared in the empty space. It slowly enlarged before revealing itself to be a black vortex crackling with black and red lighting. It was the Heaven Devouring Abyss. The Heaven Devouring Abyss kept growing until it shrouded the whole space.
It was like Tang Yin was at the centre of a tornado, but the Heaven Devouring Abyss was at the outskirts, leaving plenty of space at the centre.
Tang Yin raised his arms, and countless wisps of white light scattered from his soul, spreading out inside the large space. However, the wisps of white light all stayed within the boundary of the Heaven Devouring Abyss.
This lasted for days, which turned to weeks and eventually a month.
Tang Yin’s soul opened its eyes. Its body had become much hollower, appearing as if it were about to scatter. There was also tense fatigue in its eyes.
However, compared to Tang Yin’s soul’s condition, the space inside the boundary of the Heaven Devouring Abyss was overflowing with wisps of white light.
In fact, there was so much that even the Heaven Devouring Abyss had to expand a couple of times before being able to contain all of the wisps of white light.
Tang Yin knew without a doubt that this was all thanks to the Spirit Soul Fruit.
If it weren’t for the Spirit Soul Fruit, he would not have been able to release so many wisps of white light from his soul. From his rough estimation, Tang Yin believed that he would have 70% less wisps of white light present in the space if he had not consumed the Spirit Soul Fruit beforehand.
The Spirit Soul Fruit had drastically improved the number of white light fragments he could generate inside his soul.
These wisps of white light were extremely important in the formation of a Soul Sea. They were the foundation of the Soul Sea, without them, it would be impossible to form a Soul Sea.
There also had to be enough wisps of white light present within the empty space, otherwise, the Soul Sea would fail to form and even if it was created, the end result would be extremely fragile and weak.
Another important role that these wisps of white light played was that they represented one’s potential.
If one could generate a large number of white light fragments, this meant that they possessed decent potential and had a solid foundation for their Soul Sea. They would also have an easier time progressing through the Spirit Ascension Realm. Likewise, the opposite was also true.
