Chapter 198: Gu Nan’s Jealousy

As usual, the Spirit Ascension Realm cultivator was not able to unveil his disguise. 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂

"Hm? Why is Old Kong’s divine sense inside of your body?" A surprised voice came from the dome of light covering Four Seasons Island.

"Senior, Elder Kong has left his divine sense inside of my body to find me later." Tang Yin replied honestly, he could tell that the Spirit Ascension Realm cultivator in the dome of light was not particularly interested in this even though he asked.

"Alright, go." The aloof voice of the Spirit Ascension Realm cultivator faded away after dismissing Tang Yin. A small gap opened up in the dome of light.

Tang Yin entered Four Seasons Island through the gap.

He headed straight for the Spring Hall. The atmosphere around the Spring Hall was similar to last time, there were disciples coming and going.

Tang Yin turned into a purple arc of light and entered the Spring Hall. Everything was also the same inside the Spring Hall.

Numerous disciples surrounded the 3 pillars while some were talking with the disciples stationed at the stalls.

Tang Yin arrived before the only stall which had a Qi Transformation Realm cultivator placed within.

The Qi Transformation Realm cultivator was at the 5th stage and had the appearance of a middle-aged man with slightly greying hair.

"Gu Nan, I’m here to show evidence that I have completed my mission." Tang Yin spoke with slight arrogance and no politeness. He needed to imitate the old woman’s personality to truly deceive everyone. This Gu Nan was also a core disciple which the old woman knew briefly.

"Fellow cultivator, which task did you take?" Gu Nan did not seem to be dissatisfied by the old woman calling him directly by his name.

"My mission was to head to the border and kill Demonic Beasts." Tang Yin responded.

The cultivator named Gu Nan brought out a scroll from his storage ring. He then opened it and immersed himself in it.

A moment later, Gu Nan looked at the old woman before him and stated, "A Rank 3 Demonic Beast is equivalent to 1,000 sect contribution points. A Rank 4 Demonic Beast is equivalent to 10,000 sect contribution points and a Rank 5 Demonic Beast is worth 100,000 sect contribution points."

Tang Yin smirked. He brought out a separate storage ring. Inside of it were the corpses of 300 Rank 3 Demonic Beasts, 37 Rank 4 Demonic Beasts and 2 Rank 5 Demonic Beasts.

He gave the storage ring to Gu Nan for inspection. Gu Nan took the storage ring and immersed his mind inside of it to look at its contents.

Boundless shock and disbelief coloured his face. "H-How, did you kill so many Demonic Beasts and even 2 Rank 5 Demonic Beasts!?" Gu Nan questioned with a hoarse voice, he could not believe that the old woman before him possessed such strength.

"I along with a few Fellow Cultivators singlehandedly resisted a mid-scale invasion of the north zone. These are the spoils of our efforts." Tang Yin gloated with arrogance and pride.

He thought this through. Bringing out the corpses of 7 Rank 5 Demonic Beasts and hundreds of Rank 4 Demonic Beasts would attract too much suspicion and attention. Therefore, he decided to display only a small fraction of his harvest.

He also had to explain how got hold of the corpses which was why he made up a believable lie. The lie was also convincing considering that Tang Yin had not recovered from his injuries yet.

"But- This..." Gu Nan wanted to dig deeper, he wanted more answers.

"Gu Nan, is your job to interrogate disciples on how they completed their missions?" Tang Yin spoke coldly with no politeness. "If you want to know so desperately, go ask the Fellow Cultivators that I worked with."

Tang Yin said this as he was nearly sure that the Gu Nan would not actually go to the south zone’s border to find out the details. Even if he did, he would most likely get entangled in the large-scale attack of the north zone.

Gu Nan stopped speaking upon hearing Tang Yin’s cold voice. He knew that he could not get any more answers from this stubborn old woman.

Tang Yin took his storage ring back and gave Gu Nan his sect token.

Gu Nan took the sect token with perpetual jealousy.

According to the mission’s reward and Tang Yin’s haul, he would receive 870,000 sect contribution points. This amount of sect contribution points could make even an Elder of the Four Seasons Sect slightly envious.

Gu Nan unwillingly added 870,000 sect contribution points to Tang Yin’s sect token before handing it back. As he watched the old woman walk past him, conflict appeared in his eyes.

He wanted to accept a similar mission. However, he did not know whether he could obtain so many sect contribution points because either way he would be in great danger no matter whether he obtain lots of sect contribution points or not.

Tang Yin did not care about this. If Gu Nan decided to go to the border, he would most likely lose his life to the large-scale invasion.

Disregarding all of this, Tang Yin was going to visit the Elder in charge of the Spring Hall to exchange his sect contribution points for a huge amount of precious resources. After that, he would leave the Four Seasons Sect and kill a few Qi Transformation Realm cultivators to advance his cultivation before finally returning to the Drifblim Region.
