Chapter 527: Chapter 527: Let’s Go, Time to Fight

Su Wan asked, "What about you?"

The blond captain hesitated as he glanced at the delicious spread on the table. Truth be told, he had never eaten food this delicious in his life.

But after thinking about his convictions, he finally said, "Actually, you could just directly refuse the Chief Commander’s request by saying the team leaders won’t cooperate."

Su Wan nodded, stood up, and walked out. The blond captain called after her retreating figure, "Commander Su, will you cook dinner again tomorrow?"

"Not necessarily."

Su Wan returned to the command center and reviewed the message sent from the Chief Commander’s end. It was just a small-scale rescue mission, not the final assessment task.

On that civilian spaceship, there were only a few dozen passengers. The ship wasn’t large, so the number of Star Thieves couldn’t be too many.

Su Wan said, "Vermilion Bird, let’s go, time to fight."

Vermilion Bird replied, "Yes!"

Seeing the starship take off, the blond captain sighed. Ah, this Commander Su, why is she so stubborn? When they reached the mission point, they would not engage if they said they wouldn’t.

The beautiful commander was playing chess with the black-haired captain when she smiled coquettishly and said, "Is this Commander Su a bit naive, thinking that we will jump into action when we reach the mission point?"

The black-haired captain didn’t say a word.

It was only the Bearded Captain who was looking at the closing distance to the mission point with a bit of restlessness. He was actually torn. If the Star Thieves really harmed civilians, he couldn’t just stand by and do nothing!

But to just comply with Commander Su’s words was also a bit too undermining for his pride!

Actually, Su Wan knew that those team leaders, all coming from Star Warrior backgrounds, would definitely not stand by while others were in peril. But she wasn’t planning to use any desperation ploys. Instead, when the starship neared the civilian spaceship, she stabilized it and, with Mecha Vermilion Bird, instantly teleported onto the civilian spaceship!

Su Wan’s guess was correct; there were only about a dozen Star Thieves robbing the civilian spaceship, most of whom had low Beast Transformation Levels. She dealt with them quite easily.

The leader turned out to be a bit more troublesome, but with the aid of her Instant Teleportation Superpower, it didn’t take her long to subdue him.

After tying up a dozen Star Thieves into a neat bundle, she led them back to her starship in a line, leaving the captains, who had been waiting to see the new commander make a fool of herself, dumbfounded.

She handed the prisoners over to the Star Warriors to be detained, and the starship immediately headed back.

The black-haired captain watched Su Wan intently and finally asked, "You have Spatial Superpower?"

Su Wan replied, "Yes."

The black-haired captain mocked, "With such a strong and precious superpower, you use it on such trivial matters?"

Su Wan said, "Oh, maybe in your eyes, saving a few civilians is a trivial matter, but when I was young, I was almost killed during a Star Thief robbery. It was the Star Warriors from the Interstellar Guard Corps who saved me."

"You can’t dismiss something just because it seems trivial. What seems minor to you might be a life-changing event for someone else!"

The black-haired captain was stunned.

Su Wan turned around and began to pilot the starship back.

The passage of time in this assessment was different from that of the outside world; even though Su Wan had been there for half a day, only a little over an hour had passed outside.

Gu Jue stared at the screen, watching Su Wan cook for those people, his handsome brows furrowed. And then Eric leaned in close, remarking with emotion, "It’s not easy. To think that the image of my grandfather when he was young has been preserved."

Li Rui shook his head beside him, Eric was just like his grandfather, a chip off the old block. Considering how clever his wife was, she might have realized something.

Gu Jue watched Su Wan in the screen intently and, knowing she already had a plan in mind, he wasn’t worried.

At that moment, the light brain sounded an alert, and White Tiger said, "Master, the Universe Alliance has replied, saying these people were not sent by them."

"Patch through their signal."

"Yes."

Gu Jue turned and went back to his office, then the virtual screen unfolded, showing several people sitting around the round table of the Universe Alliance.

These people had all been fawning over Gu Jue with continual smiles on their faces during his leadership of the Universe Alliance Army against the Star Thieves, and it had been the same during the fight against the Insectoids.

Now, believing that both the Star Thieves and the Insectoids posed no threat to them, they were ready to betray him, or rather, they had always been wary of Landis Star, wary of Gu Jue.

Wary of Little Gu Chen, who wasn’t even ten years old yet.

They were truly a group of despicable and pitiful individuals.

The screen slowly opened, and when those people saw Gu Jue, they dared not look at him. It was always like this, with incessant scheming behind his back, even sending people to kill his son, yet because of their fear of this man, they didn’t dare to meet his gaze.

Gu Jue crossed his arms, his gaze cold, "Your denial means nothing. I can search this man’s memory. As long as there is a survivor, I can find out who sent him to kill my son."

"However, I am aware that some of you acted under someone else’s pressure, reluctantly colluding in this matter. This time, I won’t blame you who had no choice. I just want the mastermind."

"I will give you seven days. Deliver the mastermind planet to me for disposal, and as for the others, I will let bygones be bygones."

"I’m not making empty threats. You should well know that if I wanted to infiltrate a planet and kill a leader, it would be all too simple. Understand?"

The people sitting around the round table were sweating, looking at each other; still, none dared to look at Gu Jue directly.

Gu Jue: "Oh, I take it you have agreed then. I will wait for you to hand over the ring leader."

With a ’click,’ the screen plunged into darkness, and many of the leaders sitting around the Universe Alliance meeting room’s round table were drenched in cold sweat.

After a long while, one person said with a mix of anger and fear, "He, he’s just too arrogant!"

Another person slowly said, "Gu Jue has the capital to be arrogant, and if he really did infiltrate a planet to kill any of us sitting here, it would indeed be too easy."

"Does he want to make an enemy of the entire Universe Alliance?"

"He made it clear he only wants the mastermind behind this and is not making an enemy of the entire Universe Alliance."

Everyone fell silent. Did that mean that a few planetary leaders who supported the attempt on Gu Chen’s life now had to sacrifice one of their own?

Meanwhile, Gu Jue, having dealt with this matter, strode towards the examination hall to check on Wanwan’s test situation.

White Tiger chattered, "Master, do you think you’ve become more patient as you’ve gotten older? Or is it that after getting married and having children, your temper has improved?"

If it were before his marriage, the Master would not have calmly conversed like this but would have directly led the fleet to bombard the opposing planet.

Gu Jue: "It’s not that I’m not going to beat them, but rather, I want to dissolve their unity first."
