Chapter 512: Chapter 512: The Late Stage of Sister Complex

Su Wan sighed and stepped inside; both children immediately looked up at her. Su Wan said, "Xiaochen, it’s very late. Your sister needs to sleep, and you should go back to your room and rest as well."

"Oh."

Su Wan patted her son’s head. Although little Gu Chen thought he was already a big kid, he still enjoyed the feeling of his mother’s touch and snuggled closer with squinted eyes.

The little rascal even proudly said, "Mom, I was just telling a story to my sister. If you had come earlier, you could have heard it!"

The corner of Su Wan’s mouth twitched; she wasn’t actually very eager to listen to her son’s modified stories.

On the other hand, Xiaoyan said earnestly, "Mommy, brother said that all men are big liars! They’re all big cloven-hoofed beasts!"

Little Gu Chen added, "The wild men outside!"

Xiaoyan: "Yeah, the wild men outside."

The corners of Su Wan’s mouth twitched again, feeling that her daughter’s education was a bit offbeat. She glared at Xiaochen, "Stop talking nonsense. How old is your sister?"

"Prevention is better than cure, mom. I heard that recently many people have been asking Ruanruan for help, and Ruanruan isn’t even twenty yet, so, to prevent any bad men from deceiving Xiaoyan in the future, we should start teaching her early!"

Looking at her son’s serious expression, Su Wan thought about how her daughter had two overprotective brothers and a father who doted on his daughter. Finding a lover in the future might be harder than ascending to heaven.

Forget it, let her daughter and her future partner worry about this.

Su Wan tapped her son’s forehead, "Go to sleep! Right now! Immediately!"

"Yes, mom!" Little Gu Chen was very obedient to his mother. He turned back, said goodnight to his sister, and then left.

Xiaoyan had already been taken care of by the housekeeping robot, bathed, and had her teeth brushed. The little girl smelled sweet and was tender to hold, making one feel that a bite would probably taste sugary.

Su Wan tucked her daughter into bed, "Xiaoyan, are you sleepy?"

"Mommy, I’m not sleepy yet."

"But it’s very late now."

"Mommy," the little girl leaned into Su Wan’s arms, cooing softly, "can you keep telling me a story, please?"

How could Su Wan resist such a cute, beautiful, and clever little girl who was her own daughter and was now being affectionate with her? Her heart melted completely.

She said, "Of course, what story would Xiaoyan like to hear?"

"Mommy, tell the one where Cinderella’s body is taken by the prince’s lover, but she doesn’t actually die. Later, she finally finds a way to come back to life!"

Su Wan: "..."

After finally crafting a story that satisfied her daughter, Su Wan left her daughter’s room, exhausted in body and soul. She went back to the bedroom just in time to see Gu Jue coming out fresh from a bath.

His fluffy ears stood erect on top of his head, and his snowy white fluffy tail gently swept over the carpet.

"Sister, what’s wrong?"

This was a little pleasure the couple shared in their moments alone; sometimes just quietly embracing made their hearts come very close together.

This was no longer related to the Manic-Depressive Period.

Su Wan couldn’t hold back and shared what had happened earlier that night in Xiaoyan’s room, ending with a sigh, "Don’t ask anymore, because asking only leads to regret. I should never have told Xiaochen those stories."

Gu Jue laughed uncontrollably and said, "This just proves that Xiaochen is very fond of Xiaoyan. He will definitely be a qualified and good big brother in the future."

Mentioning a brother’s affection for his sister reminded Su Wan of her own pitiful childhood. She nodded in agreement and said, "Indeed, both Xiaochen and Xiaoyu will be good big brothers."

Gu Jue kissed her between the eyebrows. "Alright, stop thinking about it, take a bath. You’ve also had a long day. Let’s rest early."

The normally aloof Commander Gu only showed his tender side behind closed doors, in the presence of his wife.

Su Wan nodded, returned his kiss, and then turned around to wash up.

Seeing her head to the washroom, Gu Jue’s lips lifted slightly in a smile; it seemed his teachings to Xiaochen were beginning to bear fruit.

In the future, overseeing him alone was a bit risky. He needed an extra pair of eyes to ensure his precious daughter wouldn’t be whisked away by some scheming bastard!

Meanwhile, on a spaceship, a young man in a silver uniform sneezed involuntarily. He rubbed the tip of his nose, seeming lost in thought.

The Insectoids around him carefully said, "Lord God, are you catching a cold?"

Another Insectoid immediately stepped on his foot, "Are you stupid? Lord God is a godlike being, how can he be sick!"

The Insect God looked out at the vast universe and said softly, "No, I may have caught a kind of sickness."

As the Insect God, he had the duty to find a more suitable place for the Insect Clan to live, and he had been working hard to do just that. However, he couldn’t help recalling the days he spent by Xiaoyan’s side.

He missed that sweet, delicate young girl.

Yet, the Insect God was well aware that Xiaoyan was still too young, and she truly belonged with her parents for now, as she grew up.

After all, her parents were both powerful and very affectionate towards her.

Approaching a large pane of glass, the Insect God gazed at his reflection and gently said, "Xiaoyan, I’ll wait for you to grow up."

For the Insect God, a decade or so could feel just like a brief nap during hibernation, so he had all the patience in the world.

The Insect God turned and walked toward a specially made room with silver-white walls all around, equipped with many special devices. In the center, there was a head similar to that of a Cyborg, but currently without synthetic skin, made of metal.

"Can’t you find me a complete body? Even a robot would do!" Doris complained unhappily. Though discontented, she didn’t dare to be too offensive.

After all, she had witnessed firsthand how formidable Lord Insect God was!

The Insect God spoke indifferently, "If you had just taken the robot body Gaia offered to make for you in the first place, this wouldn’t be an issue, right?"

Doris was frustrated, "Back then, she wanted to get rid of me as fast as she could, eager to leave and be with her lover, fly together as a pair!"

Doris detested that man; if it weren’t for his arrival, Gaia would have always stayed by her side, and together they would have dominated the universe!

The Insect God said disdainfully, "You being the way you are, it’s quite normal for Gaia to want to get rid of you, isn’t it? What a pity though, Gaia was too kind-hearted, always treating you like a real sister."

"What? Impossible! She always hated me; she loathed me from the moment I appeared, micromanaging everything I did! Wasn’t she always very concerned about the Empire Planet, the Lin Family, and the Mermaid Planet? Well, then I’ll destroy everything she cares about!"

Thinking this, Doris lifted her mechanical head, speaking excitedly, "Lord Insect God, I’ll work hard to recover my Spatial Superpower as soon as possible. I will ensure to transfer your Insect Clan’s armies into this universe!"
