Chapter 496: Chapter 496 Xiaoyan’s Abnormality

Gu Jue was busy until late before he came back. After a quick wash, he held Su Wan as she slept, and Su Wan didn’t mention to him the issue of Little Octopus being scared of Xiaoyan.

But as the children were older now, Su Wan could take the two kids out, and since Gu Jue had previously made a small vehicle for Little Gu Chen with great expertise, he specially made two more.

Of course, the one for the little princess Xiaoyan had fuller functions and was more stable.

As for Little Gu Yu, who felt neglected due to favoritism, he didn’t think his sister’s stuff was better than his own. If there was only one little car, he would rather let his sister have it.

Su Wan took the two beautiful babies on a flyer to her mother Lin Ranyue’s home, and in a short while, Mermaid Xiaoluo happily took Little Gu Yu for a joyful swim.

Golden and silver fish tails shuttled through the pool, looking exceptionally pretty.

Holding Xiaoyan, Su Wan chatted leisurely with her mother Lin Ranyue, drinking milk tea and eating snacks when suddenly her brain-computer rang, and she answered it.

It was Teacher Lan Yu from Empire University, "Xiaowan, are you still shedding scales?"

"Not anymore, just that one time."

"That’s too bad. Oh, by the way, does your son shed scales?"

"He doesn’t, he’s still far from adulthood."

Su Wan was a postnatal mermaid, whereas innate mermaids like Xiaoluo and Little Gu Yu would go through a scale-shedding phase from youth to adulthood.

Lan Yu finally said directly, "Can you come to the school when you’re free? Actually, I’d like you to give a lecture to the medical students about the evolution of beast transformation in postnatal Beastmen."

Such lectures had been done by Su Wan before, so she didn’t need to prepare much, but...

"I still need to bring the two kids."

"You can bring the kids to play at the school! Let them experience the rich academic atmosphere of the campus in advance!"

Poor kids, so young yet already having to experience the rich academic atmosphere of school.

Su Wan consulted Gu Jue to see if she could take the kids to Empire University, and with his approval, she set off with the two children.

Lin Ranyue was a bit worried, so she followed.

Xiaoluo liked Little Gu Yu so much that he came along too, being older, he could help look after Little Gu Yu.

Once arriving at Empire University, Little Gu Yu was curious about everything, his round, bulging eyes constantly glancing around.

While Xiaoyan still hid in her mother’s arms, secretly observing the outside world, her big eyes filled with curiosity, but more so with an instinctive fear of the unfamiliar environment.

The lecture was very successful, as Su Wan was quite a legendary figure among the students at Empire University. She already had some fans, and the students were delighted to see such cute babies.

Everything was going smoothly, but as Su Wan was about to leave with the kids, a group of people from the medical school approached, carrying a huge glass vessel containing different species of Insect Beasts.

The glass vessel was marked with warning signs, indicating these were dangerously aggressive Insect Beasts. The teachers and students responsible for moving the Insect Beasts were worried about frightening Su Wan’s children and decided to quickly move these dangerous creatures away.

But then... the Insect Beasts, which were previously baring their teeth and brandishing their claws in ferocity, suddenly turned into a frightened and uneasy state. They pressed their heads to the ground and started whimpering.

This scene always seemed vaguely familiar to Su Wan, and the teachers and students also found it very strange.

"How odd, what’s wrong with them?"

As they talked, the two groups brushed past each other. Su Wan checked on her son and daughter. Little Gu Yu was fine; he had played himself to exhaustion and was now asleep in the stroller, blowing bubbles.

Xiaoyan wasn’t asleep; she still looked a bit scared. After all, the appearances of those insect beasts were terrifying. She clutched Little Mushroom tightly and burrowed into Su Wan’s arms, wishing she could bury her whole little self into the safety of her mother’s embrace.

Lin Ranyue said, "Is Xiaoyan frightened? These insect beasts are really too ugly. Next time, let’s have them put up some opaque glass."

Su Wan checked her daughter’s condition, which wasn’t too bad. She said, "It’s fine; Xiaoyan is just a bit timid. She’s scared of strangers too, but she’ll get used to it."

The two adults continued walking further away with the children.

No one noticed that the Little Mushroom in Xiaoyan’s arms seemed a little down.

She was afraid of insects? Did that mean she also hated them?

After Gu Jue and Su Wan returned, they took swift action to deal with the Beastmen and the Medical Center. Those who had been eager to study the child of Commander Gu, to see if he was a Plantman, had their ideas suppressed.

In other words, even if that child was a Plantman, what could they do? The baby was so small and adorable. Its destructive power probably wasn’t even a match for an ant-like insect beast.

Of course, this was all because Gu Jue was strong enough. As long as he remained the Chief Commander of Empire Planet, no one else dared to harbor thoughts against his children.

But while the dangers on Empire Planet were eliminated, the threats from alien planets had not disappeared.

Those who were dissatisfied with Empire Planet’s withdrawal from the Universe Alliance were itching to cause a panic to trouble Gu Jue.

They planned to start with his family!

If Su Wan hadn’t realized the accidents’ significance before, the incident that followed truly made her aware of the significant problem concerning her daughter.

One day, Su Wan took the children on a flying vehicle, intending to visit the Imperial Palace. But halfway there, they suddenly encountered a collision between two flying vehicles, causing an accident. Su Wan’s vehicle had to stop.

Just as they stopped, many insect beasts the size of small arms flew out from the hit vehicle!

These were the evolved forms of poison bees, which even Beastmen would find extremely painful if stung. Pure humans might even lose their lives!

It seemed as if the poison bees were commanded. They swarmed toward Su Wan’s vehicle!

The poison bees had sharp horns on their heads and were forcefully hitting Su Wan’s vehicle. If the vehicle broke down and allowed the poison bees to fly in... Su Wan immediately tried to drive the vehicle but found that poison bees had also entered the pipes, making it impossible to start!

People on the outside couldn’t help either because many more poison bees began attacking others aimlessly!

Just as Su Wan decided to abandon the vehicle and teleport away with the two children, little Xiaoyan in her arms suddenly started crying.

"Ugly!"

The little girl was crying because of the poison bees that clung to the glass!

And just as Xiaoyan began to cry, suddenly a silver flash passed by. The poison bees outside seemed to freeze, falling to the ground, wings pressed low, trembling!
