Chapter 287: Chapter 287: Kiddo: Electric Grilled Octopus Legs, Yummy

The massive pink octopus slowly sank to the bottom of the sea.

Then it disappeared from sight.

The characters from the movie were completely unaffected by the octopus.

They couldn’t see the octopus, the audience, or the Insect Clan that appeared suddenly.

Fortunately, just as the octopus attacked, both groups managed to press the button to switch to the next scene just in time.

So even though the speedboat sank, there were no casualties, and everyone met up on the beach together.

"We are ending the movie viewing right now!"

"Okay!"

No one objected, and the two groups came together and then ended the viewing forcibly.

Just before the camera faded out, Su Wan turned her head and saw a man slowly walking out of the sea.

The man looked to be in his thirties, with peach-blossom eyes, somewhat debonair, and a wicked look in his eyes.

He wore a diamond stud earring on his left ear, shining with a bewitching red light.

The man winked his left eye at Su Wan.

His mouth opened and closed as if he said something.

But as Su Wan blinked, darkness swallowed everything.

Su Wan held Xiaochen tight, waiting for the familiar exit.

But the next moment, something wrapped around her ankle!

That soft, sticky feeling, along with the fishy smell of seawater soak.

Su Wan’s eyes widened in horror!

It was that damned octopus! That damned Lucifer!

But at this time, she was holding Xiaochen in one arm and definitely would not let go, and she had no weapons on her...

The octopus’s tentacle was forcefully pulling Su Wan downwards!

Just then, a current of electricity crackled through the air.

The air was filled with the smell of something being burned by electricity.

Su Wan hugged her son tight and kissed his hair, "Xiaochen, well done!"

"Mommy, smells nice."

It took Su Wan a few seconds to realize.

The nice smell Xiaochen was talking about wasn’t the perfume she had sprayed before leaving the house.

It was the smell of the octopus’s tentacle burnt by electricity...

"Xiaowan! Xiaowan!"

Hearing Sheng An’s anxious voice, Su Wan slowly opened her eyes.

She found herself with the child back in the VIP room of the cinema.

Luo Jina was arguing with the staff outside, "We encountered those damn bugs inside! We also met an octopus that big! I want to complain to you Deep Blue Cinema!"

The staff member was pale, "I’m very sorry, Miss Luo, we didn’t know such a thing would happen. But don’t worry, the Security Bureau people have gone to investigate, and they will soon give everyone a satisfactory explanation."

In another VIP room, Bai Nanxi was also arguing with the staff, or rather, she was berating them unilaterally.

People from the Security Bureau were also here, and upon seeing Su Wan, they immediately saluted her.

"Commander’s wife, let’s take you home first."

Su Wan nodded, "Can you also ensure our friends get safely home?"

"Of course."

Su Xiaoge: "That’s settled, then. You go send the other guests, I’ll take my sister home first."

As Su Wan walked out holding the child, she saw the plump manager Li Hao she had met last time.

Next to Li Hao stood a young man with a very unsightly complexion.

Su Xiaoge said in a low voice, "That man is named Gu Weida, according to seniority, should be called your ’little aunt’."

Su Wan: "This cinema belongs to his family?"

Su Xiaoge: "Yes."

Su Wan narrowed her eyes.

At this moment, Gu Weida and Li Hao had already approached Su Wan, and both sincerely apologized to her.

Gu Weida felt extremely guilty, "Commander’s wife, to have given you such an experience, no matter what, it’s our fault. Later, we will bring gifts and come to your door to offer a special apology."

"We are fine, you should go and comfort the other guests."

Li Hao: "All the other guests are fine, Commander’s wife, no need to worry too much."

Su Wan suddenly laughed, "So you’re saying, the only ones who had a problem with their movie were us and Bai Nanxi?"

The apologetic smile on Li Hao’s face instantly stiffened.

The fake smile on Gu Weida’s face also solidified.

Su Wan continued, "I’m alright since after all, we are family. You should go over there and comfort Miss Bai more, as I believe she was more frightened."

Li Hao and Gu Weida visibly relaxed, then quickly nodded and watched as Su Wan and her party left.

Once they were aboard the aircraft, Su Xiaoge suddenly said, "Xiaowan, do you think there’s something wrong with the Deep Blue Cinema?"

Su Wan: "There’s a problem with the cinema, and there’s also a problem with the movie. So, it’s a matter of finding out whether it’s the owner behind Deep Blue Cinema who’s colluding with the Star Thief, or the movie production side at Nick Company."

"Star Thief?"

Su Wan nodded and recounted the incident where her leg was caught by the octopus just before they left.

Su Xiaoge was so shocked he swerved the aircraft into an S-curve, nearly colliding with a nearby vessel!

"Does that mean that Lucifer was also present at the time? But how come I heard the Commander say he was leading a team to N69 Star to capture the Star Thief Leader Lucifer?"

Even if Lucifer wasn’t on the Federation’s main star, Gu Jue still couldn’t rest easy regarding the safety of his wife and child, which is why he had Su Xiaoge come over to accompany them.

Su Wan knew that no matter which side was involved, their target was likely either her or Xiaochen.

After returning home, Su Wan asked Su Xiaoge to go back to the Security Bureau.

A major incident like this at the cinema meant the Security Bureau would be busy.

Su Xiaoge: "Xiaowan, don’t you want me to stay and protect you and Xiaochen?"

Su Wan shook her head: "No need, if Gu Commander’s estate is not safe, then nowhere else would be safe for me to go."

The security level at Gu Jue’s estate was even higher than at the Imperial Palace; there really was nothing to worry about.

Su Xiaoge thought about it and agreed, left some instructions, then turned and left.

Su Wan held her son and returned home, first bathing the little guy who was covered in salt and a bit grimy.

While running the bath, Su Wan asked, "Xiaochen, are you scared?"

"Not scared! Fragrant!"

Su Wan: ???

It was only then Su Wan noticed that there seemed to be something in her son’s suit pocket, round and bulging!

Most importantly, at the corner of her son’s mouth, there was a strange substance.

It looked as though... he had been gnawing on something...

Su Wan had a vague guess of what it might be and her face turned pale. She tried to keep her voice calm, "Xiaochen, can you give Mommy what’s in your pocket?"

The wolf-eared baby did not seem too willing.

But seeing his dearest mommy looking at him with such anticipation.

He hesitated for twelve seconds before reluctantly handing over the content of his pocket to mommy.

Seeing the burnt section of the octopus leg, Su Wan felt darkness enveloping her vision!

This, this kid... When had he put that electrocuted octopus leg into his pocket and even nibbled on it a few times!

Hopefully, it hadn’t caused any problems... right?
