Chapter 279: Chapter 279 I Love You

After Su Wan had asked her question, the living room became very quiet, and the flames in the kitchen were extinguished.

Even the bubbling sound of boiling soup couldn’t be heard this time.

Fortunately, the biggest misunderstanding had been resolved.

Su Wan was very certain that Commander Gu truly liked her.

The only unknown was since when.

So she patiently watched Commander Gu.

Gu Jue looked up at her, "Actually, I don’t know when I started to like you. At first, I was surprised to see you in my dreams."

"Back then, I didn’t have any friends, and I really wanted to communicate with you at that age, but I was worried that you would despise and loathe me," he admitted.

"Later, I gathered the courage to try and communicate with you, but my soul seemed to be trapped inside that Alaska, unable to reach out to you."

"Even if I couldn’t communicate with you, I slowly began to look forward to dreaming of you, to seeing your simple daily life, being happy or sad, snuggling by your side, watching you strive, wishing I could help you with something," he continued.

"After you awoke in the Interstellar Era, I never found myself in that Alaska again."

Gu Jue raised his head, looking earnestly at his delicate wife, his stern face full of emotion and tenderness.

Su Wan suddenly thought of something and her face became very serious!

Gu Jue, noticing the change in his delicate wife’s expression, asked, "Wanwan, what’s wrong?"

Su Wan quickly replied, "It’s nothing, just, how did you then appear at my wedding?"

She had suddenly remembered her own dream.

No no no, Ajue probably doesn’t remember that sterilization incident... right?

The deep, intense gaze of Commander Gu continued to envelop his delicate wife as he said, "After that skirmish with the Star Thief, I was injured and hit by a bout of the Manic-Depressive Period, and then on the returning vessel, I discovered larvae."

"The vessel crashed and exploded; I escaped in time, and then I saw your wedding dress photos all over the streets."

Su Wan’s mouth gaped open.

With furrowed brows, she said, "If you had been keeping an eye on me all that time, you should have known that, because of pressure from both families, Huo Yichang had become my fiancé."

Gu Jue, with downcast eyes, said, "I knew, but I thought, you never knew I existed, so you certainly wouldn’t like me. If, if that man was one you loved and he could make you happy, I was willing to keep on protecting you silently."

But the wedding still met with an accident.

That day, Su Man’s heart and eyes were full of the desire to compete with Su Wan for everything.

That included Huo Yichang, her fiancé.

Therefore, on the day of the wedding, Su Man staged a drama to delay Huo Yichang.

This prevented him from returning in time to marry Su Wan.

Of course, if Huo Yichang truly loved Su Wan, he would have found a way to come back for the wedding no matter what.

But he didn’t.

Gu Jue spoke, "I was very upset at the time, the exclusive medicine was destroyed, and I thought I was in such pain because of the Manic-Depressive Period. But later, I realized what truly hurt me was the thought of you getting married."

"So, I ran to your wedding venue, wanting, just to see you one more time," he confessed.

"Because I thought you, in your wedding dress, must look extremely beautiful," he said softly.

"Even though, that wedding dress wasn’t meant for me."

That kind of pain, Gu Jue still felt deeply troubled each time he thought about it.

Looking up, he slowly said, "It was only in that moment that I knew, I had fallen in love with you."

It was a miraculous twist of fate.

Two individuals who originally had no intersection were bound together.

Su Wan leaned against Gu Jue’s broad shoulders, "By that account, that was also when I fell in love with you. It was love at first sight for me."

The ashamed runaway bride was held in the arms of the Commander suffering from the Manic-Depressive Period.

This must be love that’s meant to be.

Becaues only such perfect love could so align with the time, the place, and the hearts of the people, where every element perfectly matches so that the two individuals come together in the end.

At that moment, outside the window, two winged metallic spheres crouched there.

White Tiger, moved to tears, had electronic tears streaming down its face like thick noodles.

White Tiger, weeping, said, "Oh, it’s so touching! How can there be such perfect love! Little Bird, don’t you think so?"

Vermilion Bird replied, "Yes."

Gu Chen: "Yes."

White Tiger and Vermilion Bird were taken aback, and when they turned their heads, they had no idea when the young master had also climbed up beside them.

The little fellow, with his wolf ears twitching contentedly, was watching with great interest.

With the misunderstanding resolved and having received a heartfelt confession from Commander Gu, Su Wan happily continued to the kitchen to cook.

However, it wasn’t long before the little guy was picked up by his dear dad.

Commander Gu picked up his son, looking disdainfully at the dirtied clothes he was wearing.

"I’ll take you back to your room to change your clothes; they’re too dirty!"

Little Gu Chen’s fluffy canine ears drooped down like airplane wings.

He had forgotten that Mommy liked cleanliness, and with himself this dirty, surely Mommy wouldn’t like him anymore.

Gu Jue lifted his son with one hand and supported him with the other, holding him up.

Little Gu Chen, feeling his father’s scent, had bright eyes.

He possessed Super S-class same-source beast gene, inheriting various skills.

Little Gu Chen felt both afraid and wanting to get close to his dad’s scent.

There was no helping it; his dad’s scent was too overpowering.

Gu Jue carried his son back to the room, then stretched out a big hand to take out clean clothes from the wardrobe for his son. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞

Little Gu Chen’s eyes widened in shock!

No way, no way, was Dad actually going to dress him personally?!

The little guy was immediately moved to tears!

However, a few minutes later, he silently retracted his touched tears.

And once Dad left, Little Gu Chen immediately called Vermilion Bird over for help.

Because the pants Dad put on him were on backward! QAQ...

By now, Su Wan had already prepared lunch, and she looked up to ask Gu Jue, "Ajue, where have you been?"

"I just saw Xiaochen was dirty, so I went to change his clothes," he replied.

Su Wan was extremely surprised to hear this!

She said happily, "Ajue, if you have time, spend more time with Xiaochen. He really likes being with you."

Gu Jue thought back to how excited and joyful his son had looked while he changed his clothes.

He nodded.

Indeed, his son did like being with him.

Filled with paternal affection, Commander Gu said while eating, "After lunch, I’ll go to the basement Mecha Room and make an exclusive vehicle for Xiaochen to get around with."

The child was still too young to walk.

But he had already reached the age where he wanted to crawl everywhere he looked.

Gu Jue remembered how in his own childhood, he could only stay in a child’s pod.

Suddenly, he felt that by treating his son well, he could make up for his own childhood regrets.

At this thought, Gu Jue lifted his head and reached out to gently touch his young wife’s soft hair, saying, "Wanwan, you’re right; we should spend more time with our child."

Su Wan nodded vigorously: "Yes!"

As the housekeeping robot cleaned up the kitchen and dining table, Gu Jue went to the basement Mecha Room to make a special vehicle for his son.

Su Wan carefully collected all the sketches.

After all, these were drawn by Ajue for her!

Su Wan found some transparent protective film and carefully pasted it over each sheet.

This would prevent the paper from oxidizing and preserve the sketches longer.

That wasn’t enough; she also took photos of them, creating a backup of the images.

While Su Wan was doing this, her optical brain suddenly rang.

It turned out to be a call from her mother.

The moment the call connected, Su Wan heard her mother’s anxious voice, tinged with sobs, "Wanwan, what should we do, your sister is missing!"
