Chapter 1202: The End
"Did you ask Drayce about-"
Before they could continue their conversation, an alert suddenly appeared on the hologram, showing the sight right in front of Doncaster.
Multiple vampires, as well as member of the Seprent were there, and with them, several people who were walking mindlessly forward.
"Those ... those are our men!" Elijah exclaimed, shock and anger visible in his voice, his face twisting in rage.
"Those bastards!" Elijah shouted before turning, sprinting toward the door.
"Stop." Reign’s calm voice echoed, acting as cold water dousing the angry Elijah.
"Those men have been turned, right?" Reign asked as Amelia nodded.
"Go, see what they want, me and the others will be nearby, on my signal, we attack them, decimate them." Reign said, his calm voice hiding beneath it fury.
Elijah nodded before sprinting out of the room with the others.
"What are you planning on doing?" Wolf asked as Reign smirked.
"Kill them all, of course."
Outside the base, the vampires stared at the shield provided by the golden tree, a sight they had seen multiple times in the past.
"Ohhh little humansss." One vampire at the very front shouted, his face full of glee.
"We brought you your friends back!"
"Come and see them, they have missed youuu!"
Elijah appeared on the other side of the shield, staring with anger as their comrades, controlled by the vampires, roared and charged at the shield, their bodies bouncing off of it, but that didn’t stop them.
They continued charging and attacking in a frenzy, not stopping even when injuries appeared on their bodies.
"What, you’re not gonna come out?" The vampire asked, his smirk wide. "Boring."
"I will rip you apart, feed your flesh and bones to the beasts, I swear it." Elijah stated as the vampire chuckled.
"You’re too scared to even come out when we’re in front of your base, ccc, seems like losing those leaders of yours months ago has truly made you guys nothing but talk."
"I still hear stories of how strong those people were, and yet, they abandoned you, not showing up for so long, leaving you on your own."
"That’s not true!" Neil shouted, his hands clenched in fists.
"They didn’t abandon us, something must have happened to them, if they could come back, they would, and you would never dare be so smug!"
"Good acting." Cameron said from behind, his voice a low whisper, the vampires unable to hear him.
"Hahahahahaha, still hopeful for your masters to come back and save you?" The vampire said, sneering at Neil with a wide grin.
"That’s just pitiful."
"Not exactly, and oh, we’re not their ’masters’, just the guys they trust to lead them." A calm voice said from behind the vampire, causing them all to freeze.
They had just come here, how did someone get behind them so quickly, were they followed by any chance?
"Finally, I was getting so damn annoyed listening to this bastard." Elijah said as he got out of the protective shield, easily evading the attacks of the mindless puppets that were once their comrades.
"So these are the arrogant bastards who were attacking you while we were gone, huh?" Reign asked, walking calmly to the vampire who was previously taunting Elijah and the others. He was Tier VII, almost in the middle rank.
The vampires quickly realized what was going on, as well as who Reign and the others are, and for an instant, they were afraid, only for their fear to lessen a bit.
"Only low-grade Tier VII?"
"And we were supposed to be wary of them coming back?" The vampire in charge asked, scoffing.
"Yes, you were." Reign said, appearing in front of the vampire in an instant, his fist hitting the face, sending him flying.
The other vampires widened their eyes in shock as the others all lunged at them, not holding back in the slightest.
Elijah and Neil quickly wrestled down their former comrades, holding them without injuring while Wolf and the others attacked, using their powers to their utmost to deal with the vampires who had come to gloat.
"You bastards, you shall die painfully, you will-"
Shadow’s dagger stopped him from speaking further, stabbing deep between his ribs, causing the vampire to wince in pain.
Wolf’s sword came after, bringing a fierce gale before arriving, decapitating the vampire.
The battle only lasted a total of 2 minutes.
It was devastating loss to the vampires, none managing to survive.
Reign than stared at the two men who were still being held down and crouched, staring at them while using his soul manipulation.
It was futile, he could not fix them, the souls were corrupted to the very core, changed.
He shook his head before extinguishing their souls, allowing them to die with their bodies intact.
It was at that moment that a change occurred around them, a bright red light flashing down at them.
"What the hell is going on?!" Shadow shouted as they stared up, only to see a spaceship above them, something that should not exist.
[ Alert, alien intrusion detected, alert, return to Doncaster immediately! ]
The system’s notification was for naught, as the light flashed again, and they found themselves inside the spaceship, surrounded by men who looked exactly like the leader of the Ascendancy, with the horned helmets and all.
"Greeting, I have been waiting to meet you for a long time, sir Reign." The one at the forefront spoke, his armor suddenly glowing, coming apart.
Out came a man who looked ... wrong.
He looked exactly like Reign, only with his face slightly disfigured, and slightly purple.
"I have come to spare you your destiny."
"My ... what?"
"Explaining it is too difficult, too long, please, take this, a peek into the future, your future, and the plans in store for you." The man said, extending his hand, a pearl in his hand.
For some reason, Reign had an urge to hold it, to grab it, completely trusting the man, the voice of his teammates, who were shouting at him, telling him to come back, not reaching his ears as he had already moved a couple of meters in front of them, grabbing the pearl.
There, he saw it all.
The end of this story, the end of his destiny.
He would reach Tier X, as well as the others, and they would all reach the Transcendent level before separating, exploring the vast universe.
They would each join factions, battle enemies, wage wars, and become stronger.
He would once again meet Elyndor, the powerful monster he met during one of the trial challenges, back in the world dominated by demons. Elandir, the monster horse was with him, as was Morgol, the huge monstrosity that had decimated all demons that attacked them.
They were in human form when he met them again, on their way to a war, all soldiers of a powerful faction, just like Reign was at that moment.
Radagan was also there, he and Reign recognized one another, and after the hard war was over, the two would spar once again.
Reign would be outmatched again, but not overwhelmingly like before.
The next time they met would be some 40 years in the future, when they were both Saints.
Reign would win against him that time, finally being recognized as truly powerful in his own realm, able to take down anybody and everybody, even fighting against Low Gods to a standstill.
He would reach the realm of Gods, only to find out they were not gods at all, told to him by Raziel, who would pop up from time to time to speak to him, to guide him.
In the old times, they were called Immortals, it was the system who changed the name, to deceive people better.
Reign learned it all.
He learned how the system was created, by the same galactic empire who had created the facility that had bounded itself to him.
They created the system because of Raziel.
He had grown to powerful at that time, reaching the realm of High Immortal, which nobody at that time managed to do.
They had incredible technology, but none were good at cultivating, at reaching higher levels, like the enemy empire could do.
Over centuries, the system changed, gained sentience, and manipulated the empire, as well as the rest of the universe.
That was because the Will of the Universe had taken over the system, and wanted it present everywhere, to enact its plans.
It caused all to go against Raziel, who stood with his only remaining allies, fighting against the endless opponents, and yet, he was not losing.
He had grown to a level that the system could not comprehend, thus it did the only thing it could at that moment, it destroyed the universe.
The Big Bang.
It was the start of a new universe, but also a desperate ploy of the system to try and eliminate Raziel. The explosion had ruptured space itself, sending Raziel and his allies out of the Universe, to the great void above.
Unfortunately for the system, eons later, Raziel returned, and his strength had grown to a level that the system could not match, the universe could not match.
So it bid its time.
It created clones of Raziel, trying to create a vessel that could match Raziel’s power, a vessel that the universe would take over before integrating the entire universe within it.
A body with a Universe inside of it, a matchless strength that would allow it to defeat Raziel, and visit other Universes, other realms, and dominate them.
That was the true face of the system, and Reign’s fate, his destiny.
When Reign opened his eyes, they were no longer in the space ship, instead, they were floating in space, somewhere they could not identify. Everybody was still present, the other clone of Raziel, who had given him the pearl, stood in front of him, a sad smile present.
"This is the end, unfortunately, the system will not allow us to exist any longer."
[ Correct, I will not. ]
[ Experiment 1427345 has failed. ]
[ Vessel 2134056 has been deemed a failure thanks to you, the most promising vessel, gone because of your interference, Dark King. ]
"Back when I was in the Alliance, they banished me and tried to kill me because of what the Prophet saw, they saw the same in him, because we are the same, but acted differently."
"I could not allow him to be used by you, like I have."
"You have done well." A third voice pitched in as Reign glanced to the side, noticing Raziel.
[ How did you get here?! ]
[ Abomination! ]
[ The array was perfect, multiple galaxies to hold you down, how?! ]
"Ahh, sorry, I destroyed those galaxies, couldn’t really afford to care for the casualties when you were about to bring an end to everything." Raziel said, scratching the back of his head, smiling as multiple faces appeared in the void around them, staring at him with anger.
[ It matters not then, you shall be destroyed, like all of them. ]
Suddenly, space shifted as something appeared.
Its size was ... too large to be described.
Reign could see planets around them, stars much bigger than the sun even, and yet, they looked like ants compared to what appeared.
"A gun?" Raziel asked, staring at the object with a smile.
[ The culmination of eons of effort, a weapon capable of producing more power than the Big Bang itself, one specially made to kill you. ]
[ I believed I would need hundreds of years to trap you before being able to use this, but you brought yourself here willingly, you fool. ]
"Too much blabbering." Raziel said as the gun started glowing, immense power concentrating inside before firing.
A beam capable of destroying galaxies with ease shot toward Raziel, and then split in two.
The gun itself split in two.
Raziel held a sword in hand, and yawned, as the void itself started shaking.
"Sorry to disappoint you, but I have eclipsed such power a long time ago."
[ H-Howwww?! ]
Suddenly, the faces started distorting, changing, each one becoming different.
The faces were real.
Over the course of eons, the system had kidnapped people, people with a special talent for future telling, one similar, yet different to the ones of Seers and Prophets.
That was what allowed the system to operate in the manner it did.
Suddenly, Raziel flashed, disappearing for an instant before appearing again, a soul in his hand.
"Finally, I have you back."
[ This ... her ... your goal was ... her? ]
"It always was." Raziel said as he stared lovingly at the soul of a young woman, the same one Reign had seen in his visions, the one taken from Raziel god knew how long ago.
"I had to be patient, to bide my time for the perfect moment, for this moment, when you were momentarily stunned." Raziel said.
"I knew you could destroy the soul in an instant, even faster than I could find and take her back, so I waited all this time."
"Now I have her back, so you are no longer useful, your life ends here, this Universe will be free again." Raziel said as he pointed his finger, a formless shockwave spreading out, destroying the faces, destroying the system, everything except for them.
"You are all free now." Raziel said, smiling at Reign.
"Live, fight, grow strong, and perhaps one day you shall explore the Universe like me."
That was the last Reign saw of Raziel, whose form blurred before he disappeared.
Centuries would pass, Reign and the others would live and fight, growing stronger, without a system present.
He would marry Mia, have children, have grandchildren, and then stop fighting, and just live.
He and all the people he cared about just lived.
The End.
