Chapter 462: Chapter 458: Battle Companion Fusion

The Bull Demon King’s shout, his question, was actually a tactic to stall for time. Every second counted.

He was also trying to goad the White Demon King, hoping he would say, "Fine, then this king will wait for this Snake Spirit to finish shedding its skin."

Unfortunately, the Bull Demon King was too naive. That was never going to happen.

A hegemon-level being like the White Demon King was ruthless and decisive. His kills were clean and efficient; he never hesitated.

Was he supposed to be afraid of turning fans into haters?

"Those who follow me prosper; those who oppose me perish." This was the creed of the strong. Anyone who defied him had to die. Any potential threat had to be nipped in the bud.

Why use ten punches when one would suffice? Only an idiot would do that.

The Bull Demon King’s challenge silenced the surroundings. None of the Demons hiding in the shadows dared to cheer or show their support.

Even the two Monkey Kings of Monkey Mountain just looked at each other and chose to remain silent. They didn’t dare offend the White Demon King, and they certainly wouldn’t do it for the Bull Demon King.

The bull’s question was answered only by a surge of Killing Intent from the Great White Demon King, which shot forth like a hurricane.

Suddenly, a piercing chill shot out from the distance. The Great White Demon King glanced disdainfully at the Bull Demon King and said coolly, "This king was considering sparing your life for the sake of your past service. It seems you’ve truly grown tired of living."

How could a Demon King tolerate such defiance?

’This bull may have become the snake’s servant, but if I kill the snake, won’t that solve the problem?’

But no, this bull just had to jump out and challenge his authority, thoroughly enraging him.

When a Demon King raged, mountains and rivers shattered.

The immaculately dressed White Demon King, his Demon Qi soaring, pointed from afar once more. A white light condensed and shot out, instantly shaking the heavens and the earth. The attack carried a thunderous momentum, and its path was unstoppable.

As the white light streaked forward, it grew increasingly intense. With every fraction of a second, it swelled by several feet, its explosive power brewing.

By the time the white light reached the Bull Demon King, it had transformed into a colossal pillar of destruction.

"If you want to kill my master, you’ll have to step over my dead body first!" The Bull Demon King held his Iron Rod before him, his large, bell-like eyes bulging. With a roar like a thousand raging rivers, he brought the rod down in a crushing blow.

BOOM...

The white light was shattered by the Iron Rod. The Bull Demon King’s chest heaved, and it was clear he hadn’t escaped unscathed. Blood trickled uncontrollably from the corner of his mouth.

Neutralizing a Demon King’s attack always came at a price.

"You dare to oppose me? I will make you wish for death." The White Demon King’s cold gaze swept the area. The surrounding temperature instantly dropped, and all living creatures trembled in terror.

SWOOSH SWOOSH SWOOSH... Beams of white light shot out one after another, each one powerful enough to kill a Demon Spirit-level expert.

With his Iron Rod in hand, the Bull Demon King was a terrifying sight. A howling gale surrounded him as afterimages of the rod filled the sky, each strike packed with immense power. He continuously neutralized the White Demon King’s attacks, but each time he dispersed a beam of white light, he would cough up a mouthful of blood.

Throughout the entire process, the valley never knew a moment’s peace. It shook constantly as if in an earthquake—the very ground trembled and the mountains swayed.

The White Demon King watched with a cold gaze, as if deliberately torturing the Bull Demon King. A cruel smile appeared on his handsome, evil-looking face. He spread his fingers, and an overwhelming barrage of white light shot forth with the power to overturn the heavens.

The Bull Demon King was so terrified his soul nearly left his body, but he could only brace himself and charge forward, unsparingly unleashing the violent power of his Iron Rod.

A Level 35 Bull Demon King was already strong enough to do as he pleased in the Yaoling Mountain Range. Unfortunately, he had run into a true Demon King.

This was his tragedy, but perhaps it was also his glory. After all, not every Cultivated Creature was worthy of fighting a Demon King.

Wielding his Iron Rod, the Bull Demon King fought with divine might, like a Demon Lord of Mayhem. Even so, the attacks were impossible to completely defend against. One by one, beams of white light mercilessly pierced his mighty frame, like needles stabbing into his very soul.

"Aaaargh..."

The Bull Demon King let out a miserable shriek, as sorrowful as a wandering spirit and as sharp as a Ghost. The cry made the hearts of the onlookers tremble.

Just from the sound, they knew how much pain the bull was enduring.

’I can’t fall... I can’t fall!’

The Bull Demon King clutched his Iron Rod tightly, blood streaming from his wounds. Below his wide, bell-like eyes, a dozen more beams of white light lashed his tall, powerful body like a torrential downpour.

Suddenly, the valley had become a stage for the Bull Demon King’s torture. The White Demon King seemed to be making an example of him, warning all the Demons of the Yaoling Mountain Range to never even think of opposing him.

This was the bloody consequence.

"Dammit, dammit..."

Beneath the massive ancient tree, Tu Xiao’an watched, burning with fury, as the Bull Demon King was savaged. Blood gushed like pillars, and he was seething with rage.

He desperately wanted to rush out and fight the White Demon King himself, but right now, he couldn’t do a single thing. He loathed this feeling of helplessness.

Tu Xiao’an never could have imagined that after finally surviving the Celestial Tribulation, he would face such a humiliating situation before he even had a chance to look down upon the world.

It was infuriating. Utterly infuriating.

If the Bull Demon King fell, the remaining Super level Creatures would just be throwing their lives away.

"Master, let me get you out of here! We can’t stay here any longer," the Tree Spirit, Charlie, said urgently.

The Tree Spirit could see the crisis unfolding. The Bull Demon King couldn’t last much longer.

What could it and the other three Super level Creatures possibly do to stop a Demon King’s attack?

’The only option is to run. The enemy is too strong; there’s no chance of victory.’

Tu Xiao’an gave a bitter smile. ’Run? How? Is it even possible to run from a Demon King?’

’This damned skin-shedding is such a pain. The cracking is too slow. I’ll probably be killed long before it’s finished.’

Who else could possibly appear to hold off the White Demon King and buy him time to finish shedding his skin?
