Chapter 412: Chapter 408: Three-headed Snake (5)

Tu Xiao’an stood up from the sofa and walked over to the Two-headed Snake’s body. Its scales, black as Profound Iron, were incredibly tough and glinted with a cold light. When he reached out and touched them, they were incomparably cold, like a block of thousand-year-old ice.

"Good. Very good."

Tu Xiao’an looked up at the two swaying snake heads, baring their fangs, and smiled faintly.

In an instant, the two terrifying snake heads began to circle each other. One struck like a tiger descending a mountain, the other like an eagle swooping upon its prey, and they lunged at Tu Xiao’an.

An ordinary person witnessing this would have needed nerves of steel not to be scared to death. The scene was terrifying, like the silence before a slaughter.

"Haha..."

Tu Xiao’an, on the other hand, just laughed happily. In the blink of an eye, the two snake heads lifted him and began tossing him up and down.

One snake head would toss him into the air, and as he fell, the other would catch him and fling him high again. They were having a blast.

After playing for a while, Tu Xiao’an sat on one of the snake heads, reached out to stroke the other, and said with a smile, "Not bad. Your master is very satisfied with your growth."

Tu Xiao’an wanted to raise a Divine Dragon that could look down upon the world, but he also wanted to raise a snake so fearsome it could make the heavens and earth themselves change color.

The Dragon was, of course, Celestial Master Zhang. And the snake... was this one right here.

Tu Xiao’an had started his journey on She Mountain, and he himself was now a snake, but he had never encountered a more monstrous Snake Species than the one before him.

A Super Class mutated and evolved Snake Species, born of a human mother and an Ancient Ba Snake father, possessing the genes of both humans and an Ancient Snake Species.

Furthermore, a bolt of Tu Xiao’an’s Thunder had caused it to evolve into a Two-headed Snake. All these factors had come together to create this one creature.

A snake like this... there could never be another one in all of heaven and earth.

"Your master will give you a welcome gift right now."

This snake had barely spent any time by Tu Xiao’an’s side. He had thrown it directly into Snake Valley to fend for itself.

HISS...

The Two-headed Snake gently set Tu Xiao’an down. His eyes narrowed. ’System, grant it the bloodline of the Ancient Nine-headed Serpent.’

"Ding... Bestowal successful."

Immediately, the body of the fierce and terrifying Two-headed Snake was enveloped in a blinding light.

Under this light, the Two-headed Snake’s ten-meter-long body began to shrink right where it was. It grew smaller and smaller—eight meters, five meters, three meters.

It didn’t stop there; it was still shrinking. Finally, the light-enveloped Two-headed Snake had shrunk to a mere one meter in length.

It was now about the same size as when it was first born.

Once it finished shrinking, Tu Xiao’an saw a strange change occur to the scales of the Two-headed Snake. The tough, Profound Iron-black skin began to slough off.

’Shedding its skin?’

Tu Xiao’an was delighted. For a Snake Species like this, shedding its skin meant a complete rebirth. Its strength would increase tremendously after molting.

Tu Xiao’an himself had only shed his skin twice. The first time, his body grew explosively. The second time, he had ascended the throne and become a Pseudo Snake King.

He greatly looked forward to seeing what astonishing changes this Super Class, mutated, and evolved Two-headed Snake would undergo after shedding its skin.

Besides, it wasn’t just shedding its skin; its bloodline was also evolving toward that of the Ancient Nine-headed Serpent.

As it shed its skin under the shroud of light, the temperature in the villa’s main hall plummeted, growing as cold as frost.

Only then did Tu Xiao’an notice that the Bull Demon King and Azure Owl Golden Pupils had arrived. The Tree Spirit, unable to contain its curiosity, had also come upstairs. A Blackbird was shamelessly perched on it.

The Blackbird flew into the air above the light-enveloped Two-headed Snake. Attracted by the light’s energy, it prepared to dive headfirst into it.

With his quick reflexes, Tu Xiao’an snatched the Blackbird out of the air. "What are you doing?"

"What’s this two-headed snake doing? The light from its body feels really good to Uncle Hei. I just want to get some warmth."

Tu Xiao’an held it still, preventing it from struggling. "This is my Battle Companion. It’s evolving, so don’t disturb it."

"Evolving?"

The Blackbird was stunned. For Awakened Creatures, evolution was a rare opportunity one could only hope to encounter by chance, not something that could be actively sought. It required countless lucky chances.

A single evolution was like going from the lower class to the upper class; the change in status and identity went without saying.

"Do you want to evolve? Acknowledge me as your master right now, and maybe I’ll evolve you into the Divine Beast, the Three-legged Golden Crow," Tu Xiao’an said, raising an eyebrow.

A glint flashed in the Blackbird’s eyes, but it stubbornly retorted, "Uncle Hei has a pure bloodline! I can evolve into a Divine Beast on my own, thank you very much."

It just didn’t know if it could become a Three-legged Golden Crow on its own.

Of course, Tu Xiao’an was only joking. This crow wasn’t going to escape the palm of his hand anyway. Besides, he was out of Faith Points; he had spent nearly all of them.

"Master, where’s Celestial Master Zhang?" the Bull Demon King asked, just now noticing his absence.

Tu Xiao’an replied casually, "He went to evolve, too."

The Bull Demon King sucked in a sharp breath. "He’s already a Snake Flood Dragon! If he evolves again, won’t he become a Dragon?"

"That’s right. The Divine Beast Azure Dragon."

"Master, are you serious?" The Bull Demon King couldn’t believe it, so shocked he felt as if a thunderclap had just gone off in his head.

Tu Xiao’an patted the Bull Demon King’s shoulder and chuckled. "My dear bull, just keep helping your master make money, and your master will help you evolve in the future, too."

The Bull Demon King snorted, his breath coming in heavy puffs. "Master, then why not help this old bull evolve first?"

"First come, first served. Celestial Master Zhang was here before you."

"..." Hearing this, the Bull Demon King was so aggrieved that tears almost welled up in his eyes.

’I gave you three hundred million, and you’re talking to me about first come, first served?’

’I even destroyed a villa today, and now this new one is in ’open-air mode’ too.’

’What does that stinking Daoist have? He doesn’t have a dime to his name, and he’s not even as strong as me. What right does he have to evolve into a Divine Beast first?’

The Bull Demon King was not having it. Not one bit.

"My dear bull, don’t forget your family’s fine tradition."

The Bull Demon King stared at him blankly, completely bewildered. "What fine tradition?"

Tu Xiao’an said nonchalantly, "Toiling without complaint."

Hearing this, the Bull Demon King nearly spat out a mouthful of blood. He really wanted to follow the Tree Spirit’s example and yell, ’Fuck your mother...’

The Two-headed Snake’s evolution proceeded in an orderly fashion as the temperature in the hall continued to drop. Fortunately, the creatures standing around were no ordinary beings and could withstand the intense cold.

A full hour passed before the Two-headed Snake finished shedding its skin. A radiant Baoguang flowed across its new skin. The striped scales were distinct and seemed to hold endless mysteries. Each scale was a section unto itself, yet they all complemented one another in a harmonious pattern, which was surprisingly similar to the markings on a turtle’s shell.

Shedding its skin was merely the first stage of the Two-headed Snake’s evolution; it wasn’t over yet.

As everyone in the hall watched with varying expressions, they were astonished to see the one-meter-long Two-headed Snake undergo another change. It bizarrely sprouted another snake head.

That’s right. It had grown a third snake head.

The new head forced its way out from between the original two, a sight so shocking it made everyone question their own reality.

The sound of sharp intakes of breath rose and fell throughout the hall. This was too damn monstrous.

A three-headed snake???
