Chapter 51: Investment 51— Traitor

"You need...to stop him. There’s obviously something wrong with his head...after whatever happened to him."

Liam heaved, his breathing patterns and chest movements completely disoriented.

"Don’t tell me he was the one responsible for the disappearance of our instructors!"

A female student gasped in shock at her alarming discovery.

"NAH! Liam couldn’t do such a thing. His father is the Prime Minister. He couldn’t possibly do such a horrid thing!"

A male student spoke boldly.

Given Liam’s reputation, the opinions of the students were divided: one side trusted him, while the other despised him for who he truly was—a brute, bully, and coward.

"You imbeciles, stop this crazed man before I—"

"You snuck into the dungeon unauthorized, without permission of any kind. Then you proceeded to use an unknown power; otherwise, you wouldn’t have been able to take down me or the other instructors so easily, even though you had the element of surprise."

Neuman cut Liam off mid-statement before he could tell any more lies. The students who supported Liam suddenly paused; they didn’t have any words to utter—they didn’t need substantial evidence; at this point, Neuman’s tone was proof enough.

"Do you still support him?" Neuman’s gaze swept across the area.

"This bag of scum plans to deliver all of you into the hands of the bastards I have been so desperately trying to escape from and the ones that did this to me!"

He raised his other arm up—the giant scar from the wound still remained; even advanced spells were useless at this point.

"Moohawk, come!" He signaled Futaba to lend him Moohawk.

Moohawk climbed onto Neuman’s shoulder.

"Moohawk, please project the memory I am about to show you."

He closed his eyes.

"Yes, Instructor Neuman."

Blue light shone from Moohawk’s eyes and became a screen in the air.

Memory recollection was also one of Moohawk’s abilities, which allowed him to project memories or find hidden memories within others.

He projected Neuman’s memory of when Liam attacked the instructors and also when he visited the prison where he was kept.

The ground completely froze over—Seria clenched her fist. A dense, ice-cold mist erupted around her—eyes sharp and filled with fury.

"So it was you? Along with the mole feeding those bastards information about our locations and plans."

An ice shard formed in front of her.

"I’m sure you have already told them what we intend to do next."

The ice shard fired off, but a gale of wind destroyed it before it could reach Liam.

"Ahhhh...as expected, you are on my si—"

A gust of wind slapped him across the face and shut him up.

"Don’t get it twisted, you piece of shit." Futaba withheld her anger. "You killed our classmates and friends. For that, I will never forgive you—"

"As much as I want to put you six feet under, we still have a use for you."

She focused on the enraged Seria.

"I believe you understand the reason I stopped your attack."

Futaba walked past Seria, then stopped briefly.

"When we are done with the bastard, you are free to do whatever you want."

Futaba whispered.

Seria had no need to throw a fit; she had already heard exactly what she wanted.

"This is exactly why I don’t mess with the Eniweiss family—bloody psychopaths."

Seria thought.

The instructor read the room and quickly decided his next course of action.

"Forgive me, students. My anger and rage took over me for a moment."

He lowered Liam to the ground.

"Advanced 2nd-Tier Spell: Endless Mirriasidum."

A white magic circle burst forth underneath Liam’s feet. The moment Neuman let go of him, a mirror-like hexagonal dome condensed around him, trapping him in a fixed position.

"It’s time to start answering my questions."

Neuman looked down on Liam with nothing but pure rage, which he controlled effortlessly.

"Ahahahaha.... You must be joking if you think that I would answ—"

A mirror bullet left a hole in Liam’s left arm.

"Huh?!"

Liam couldn’t believe the surreal speed of the attack.

"Holy fuck! I didn’t see that coming!"

’As expected of a dungeon instructor. His casting speed is far scarier than anything I have seen thus far.’

Elliot couldn’t help but be in awe at the finesse with which Neuman cast his spells. Normally, mages don’t cast spells that fast. Mana takes time to converge—some spells require so much mana convergence that incantations are needed to hasten the process.

But to every rule, there were exceptions or people who found ways to bypass normal logic. Most of these individuals had entered the domain of advanced spells—spells that made normal tiered spells look like mere parlour tricks.

"A 300-layered barrier in a single go—as expected of a dungeon instructor—"

"But how exactly did Liam manage to take all four of them out at once? What strange power was it exactly?"

Edith could hardly believe that somebody at Liam’s level would be able to take down four users of advanced spells when she herself would find it very difficult to do.

Unless he had some kind of astronomical help or backing.

That brought her to ask a question.

"Hey! Scumbag! Who exactly helped you capture our instructors? ’Cause I’m sure you are far from capable of such a feat on your measly own."

"You impudent bitch....who gave you the right....who gave any of you the right to treat me....the Prime Minister’s son, in such a wa—"

His voice suddenly ceased. He kept on yapping, but no one could hear him.

"What happened to his voice?" Deria asked.

"I simply muffled his voice—"

"You all should still be on alert.... We don’t know what trick he might pull to escape."

Neuman had a bad feeling that he just couldn’t shake off.

"Don’t worry, Instructor. I am very much prepared."

Deria slammed her knuckles into each other—any slight movement from Liam and she would be very happy to use the opportunity to bash him in the face.

Dark energy sizzled around Liam’s body before anyone could react. A devastating burst of dark energy erupted from him.

He completely destroyed Neuman’s barrier. The explosion left the ground around Liam charred with black marks.

"Humph...I can’t believe you thought that would hold me.."

Liam stood, gloating over a victory he hadn’t yet achieved.

"Ohohohohoho—You are fucking dead meat!"

Deria thrust her fallen body upward with a stone pillar.

"Round two—Scum!"

Wisps of translucent mana appeared around Neuman.
