Chapter 351: Chapter 351: Lan Xin Is Back

Superpower Talent (Yinglong): 1. Golden Light Protection, Vajra Unbreakable (Yinglong’s golden light provides extremely strong defense; awakened); 2. Thunder Shocking the World, All Evils Broken (preliminarily awakened); 3. Others (pending activation)

Ning Xuan gazed at the shimmering, golden, dragon-shaped icon in the top right corner of her personal information interface, a thrill of excitement rising within her.

When she had just awakened her second Half-Life Spirit, she had noticed that this Golden Dragon looked very familiar. Its appearance and basic abilities were identical to the mythical Yinglong from the world she came from.

In her previous world, after it underwent a Spiritual Energy resurgence, many legendary creatures had appeared in the form of Exotic Beasts. The reason Ning Xuan came to this world was because the Exotic Beast she encountered while exploring a Secret Realm back then was rather strange, seemingly possessing the ability to tear through space.

Ying Yaoshi saw Ning Xuan’s test results immediately. He looked at her personal information with a complex expression. Awakening a single Legendary Level Companion Spirit was a monumental event, enough to cause a huge stir. Now, Ning Xuan had awakened two all by herself.

"What’s wrong? Is it bad that my second Companion Spirit is Legendary Level? Why do you both look so worried?" Ning Xuan couldn’t help but ask when she saw the troubled expressions on both Ying Yaoshi and Yu Mingche’s faces.

"Legendary Level Companion Spirits have immense potential and become stronger in the later stages. Correspondingly, they place extremely high demands on the host’s physical constitution. One Legendary Level Companion Spirit is already a severe burden on the body. Now that you’ve awakened two, we’re afraid the strain will be too great and lead to severe adverse consequences," Yu Mingche explained.

"Worrying about it won’t do any good. Don’t worry, I have my own unique Body Refining Techniques. I’ll be fine," Ning Xuan reassured them.

Faced with Ning Xuan’s situation, Yu Mingche and Ying Yaoshi really had no solution. They could only take things one step at a time.

Di Youlin’s internal injuries had completely healed, and he had been kicked out of the main courtyard by Ning Xuan. On this day, Lan Xin returned.

Lan Xin was dressed in a black combat suit with a black mask covering his face. His posture was ramrod straight, and he walked with a powerful, commanding stride, looking like a completely different person from the somewhat timid boy he once was.

The black combat suit clung to his frame, outlining a pair of long legs, a lean waist, and smooth, explosive muscle lines.

From beneath the black mask, a pair of sharp eyes peeked out, a cold, dark blue light glowing from deep within their pupils. On his exposed neck and the backs of his hands, a layer of fine blue scales was faintly visible, like those of a dragon or serpent, gleaming with a metallic luster under the light.

Ning Xuan narrowed her eyes slightly. She could feel that the aura emanating from Lan Xin was completely different now. He was no longer the Half-beastman boy who needed her protection, but a warrior who had been tempered by life-and-death battles.

Upon seeing Ning Xuan, Lan Xin’s intense aura receded, and his steps became a little lighter. He walked quickly to stand before her, knelt on one knee, and spoke with a slightly trembling voice, "Your servant, Lan Xin, pays his respects to the Lord Contract Master."

"Not bad. You look much stronger than before. Your trip must have been quite fruitful," Ning Xuan said flatly, her tone betraying no emotion.

Lan Xin did not look up. "I dared not fail the Lord Contract Master’s expectations. Your servant has accumulated enough military merit to be promoted to the Central General Rank. I can now independently lead a legion in full-scale combat in unfamiliar territories."

With just a few simple sentences, Lan Xin had clearly laid out his accomplishments.

However, Ning Xuan noticed that Lan Xin’s hands were trembling slightly as he spoke, as if he were enduring immense pain.

"Ying Yaoshi said you were heavily injured and that the Doctors over there were helpless to treat your condition. Is that true?" Ning Xuan asked.

"Yes, Master," Lan Xin replied with a nod.

"Come with me to the treatment room," Ning Xuan said, turning to lead the way.

Lan Xin had not returned alone. Yan Fuzhen would make the necessary arrangements for the personnel who had accompanied him.

After leading Lan Xin to the treatment room in the rear courtyard, Ning Xuan had him take off all his clothes. It was then she discovered several deep wounds on his back, waist, and hips. The rest of his body was covered in scales, but these wounded areas were bare.

"Contractor, these scales are out of control. No matter what I do, I can’t retract them into my body. I had a faint premonition that if I hadn’t come back soon, I might have lost my legs. The snake tail keeps appearing suddenly. Before, I could retract it easily, but recently, it takes a great deal of effort to pull it back." Just as Lan Xin finished speaking, with a THUMP, his two long legs suddenly transformed into a thick, blue-scaled snake tail.

Lan Xin’s already embarrassed face grew even more so. He hung his head, not daring to look at Ning Xuan’s reaction.

"This is because the Mutated Degree value in your blood has risen. Didn’t you take the Alienation Value Clearing Potion I gave you?" Ning Xuan asked him.

"I did, but after I was last severely injured, too many toxins accumulated in my blood, and now it’s not very effective anymore," Lan Xin replied.

Even the purest and most effective medicine will lead to a certain degree of tolerance after being taken multiple times in a short period.

Ning Xuan bent down and curiously touched Lan Xin’s blue snake tail. She discovered that the area on his thigh that had been severely injured was not covered by Scale Armor.

"The reason these injuries are having trouble healing is because of the missing scales. Did you happen to keep any of the scales that fell off?" Ning Xuan asked Lan Xin.

’I don’t know if the scales in these spots can grow back. If we can find the missing ones, maybe we can reattach them.’

"I only managed to recover two from my waist. The rest were all shattered," Lan Xin said, handing two blue scales to Ning Xuan.

Ning Xuan took the two gem-like, shimmering scales and nodded. "Lan Xin, lie down properly. We’re going to start the treatment. Relax. You don’t need to suppress yourself. Just let go completely."

The moment Ning Xuan finished speaking, with a WHOOSH, a pair of blue wings suddenly unfurled from Lan Xin’s shoulders.

Lan Xin’s Mutant Beast Gene was from the Ice-winged Blue Snake.

With that, the snake tail, snake wings, and snake scales had all appeared. Ning Xuan, as calm as ever, took out the needle bag she carried with her, removed a Golden Needle, and inserted it into the top of Lan Xin’s head.

As the Golden Needle pierced the acupoint, Lan Xin instantly fell into a deep sleep.

Ning Xuan channeled her body’s Fire Element Energy through the Golden Needle and into Lan Xin. Tiny flames soon ignited on the surface of his skin. These flames could cleanse the contaminants from his blood.

About half an hour later, Lan Xin was already able to retract his snake tail and wings on his own. Even in the areas where his scales had been damaged, the wounds were slowly scabbing over as new flesh grew, a sign that his injuries were essentially healed.
