Chapter 506: 506. I can grab you mid flight

The long beak of the beast opened up, and Theo saw a spray of fire come out of it.

With the sword on guard in front of him and the blade’s blunt side facing the trajectory, Theo grinned in excitement.

’This is it, I haven’t felt like this for so long!’ he thought.

When the fire fell on the blade, Theo felt a pressure on his wrists and arms as if he was trying to push a wall away.

Even when his wrists, shoulders, and arms tightened up, his feet started to drag back, and then his whole body kept pushing backward.

Theo felt like the rogue flames of the trajectory were hitting his arms a little, but he just adjusted his fingers a little to be behind the blade and hilt.

The left hand that was touching the other blunt side of the blade already started feeling like it was getting a little too hot.

Theo’s gaze was fixed on the fire trajectory and how the fire wasn’t decreasing in output at all.

And when the fire became too much, Theo finally pushed forward with his left hand and moved his right foot backward in a circular motion.

Where he finally got out of the trajectory.

He left the blade of the sword right away as it had become too hot to touch.

But the hilt was still okay. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞

Theo quickly made the aura come out, and the moment the aura entered the hilt, it started feeling a little cold, making Theo relieved.

The big bird wasn’t done, and it moved its face back while flying ahead at an angle where the fire’s trajectory was going to hit Theo again.

But the fire in its mouth exhausted at that moment, and it flew high in the air instead.

Theo quickly looked at the expression of the boy who was controlling the big bird and then the shouts coming from the coliseum.

He had done something just now which was not accepted by the crowd, and that only meant one thing.

’Its cooldown might be long, this is my chance,’ Theo told himself as he crouched his knees a little.

The bird was flapping its wings and moving up in a single trajectory as if, in this space, there was nothing that could hurt it, and that was what should have happened.

At that moment, Carlos, who was seated among the professors, got up with wide eyes. He couldn’t believe what Theo was about to do.

With the trajectory and the last point locked in, Theo jumped up at a height that made him look unhumane.

Some of the crowd couldn’t stop their screams, and they were still realizing what was happening while half of it quieted down to realize what had just happened in front of them.

Theo just prayed that he would reach the big bird that was going up with each second.

And when he saw the distance closing instead of increasing, he smiled inwardly.

Theo moved one hand forward and finally grabbed onto the beast’s leg without it knowing what was happening below.

But a squeal quickly came from it as it stopped completely and actually started moving down.

The coliseum turned into screams and shouts at a level that everyone who listened from outside would feel people had gone mad.

More started to enter the coliseum to know what was happening only to see one human on the arena and nothing else.

But when the beast squealed in the air again, everyone new saw it too. A human was hanging from one leg of the big bird beast as it flew around chaotically.

Theo made the aura vanish as it was getting wasted.

He tried to get the sword inside the scabbard again, but the winds were so strong and his body was moving so wildly in the air that the scabbard was just not stable.

Theo tightened his grip on the leg, and the big bird squealed again.

The distance between the arena ground and them was still far, but it had gone down significantly.

Theo was relieved that his crazy idea was able to be executed. If he could not latch onto the bird’s leg, he would have fallen down and damaged his knees or another body part a little.

The bird kept flapping like crazy in order to move its body down safely. It was panicking like crazy, and Theo felt like it was not in the right mind to take any commands right now.

When he tightened his grip on the leg again, the big bird squealed again, but the most ridiculous thing happened.

The body of the beast shone a little as if the shield of the referee took it as an attack.

Theo felt his grip opening right away and his body being pushed back by the pressure.

He was now falling down, and he couldn’t help but shut off his brain and look at the distance between him and the ground.

Theo quickly flung the sword away and waited for impact while trying his best to not let his arms and legs flail around.

When he finally hit the ground, he rolled on it one time, but it was not enough to break the energy.

Theo rolled dangerously two more times where he hit his shoulder on the ground, which made him grunt instinctively.

But as if his mind was in fight mode by default, he tried to get up as fast as he could and stumbled on his feet as his head shook.

Theo saw the bird flying up in the air with its eyes this time locked onto Theo to know if it could reach him again or not.

Theo looked around for his sword, and that was when he heard a shout from nearby.

"Are you crazy?! You risked your life this much just for a measly match?" the opponent guy spoke with a face that said Theo was crazy.

But the moment Theo saw him, no other thought came to his mind other than one.

A light smile formed on his face as if he had found a solution, and he couldn’t help but say out loud.

"Jackpot" Theo spoke and decided to move toward the boy instead.
