Chapter 56: Demonic sword

As soon as Victor gave the order, countless mana potions began appearing one after another from his space ring. Glass bottles covered the metallic floor of the chamber in large piles, reflecting the pale blue lights surrounding the massive spaceship interior. The amount was absurd. Thousands upon thousands of high grade mana potions filled the hall almost like a small ocean of liquid energy.

Victor looked at the enormous crystal orb suspended at the center of the room and shrugged casually.

"I do not need them anyway. You can use everything."

Nova floated beside the orb and nodded calmly.

"Alright."

She gently waved her hand.

At that instant, every bottle cap inside the chamber exploded open simultaneously. A faint humming noise echoed throughout the ship as the gigantic orb suddenly released a terrifying suction force. Streams of glowing mana liquid rose into the air from every direction and flowed toward the orb like countless rivers of light.

The entire sight looked magical.

Blue mana currents spiraled around the orb continuously while the spaceship itself began vibrating faintly. Strange symbols across the walls started glowing one after another as if the vessel had finally received nourishment after years of starvation.

Victor watched the process silently.

Even for him, this amount of mana should have been overwhelming. Yet the orb absorbed everything greedily without showing much reaction.

Five minutes later, the last stream of mana disappeared into the crystal core.

All the bottles fell empty onto the ground.

The orb finally emitted a brighter glow than before, though compared to its enormous size, the increase still looked insignificant.

Nova crossed her arms and inspected the orb carefully before speaking.

"It is fifty six percent charged now. That should be enough for the moment."

Victor stared at the enormous crystal with disbelief clearly visible on his face.

"With all those top grade mana potions, it only reached fifty six percent? What kind of monster is this thing?"

Nova snorted lightly.

"What did you expect? It is space ship that can move at the soeed of light. These mana potions are already extraordinary. Even in universes where mana civilization has developed for millions of years, potions of this quality are extremely rare."

She placed her hand against the glowing orb while speaking thoughtfully.

"The mana system of your world is abnormal. The purity and density inside those potions are honestly ridiculous compared to ordinary standards."

Victor chuckled faintly.

"Yeah, yeah. We can discuss world level theories later. Right now I want to leave. I still have many things to handle outside."

The moment he finished speaking, the entire spaceship suddenly awakened.

Bright lights illuminated every corner of the gigantic vessel. Metallic pathways stretched endlessly into the distance while countless hidden mechanisms began activating with deep mechanical sounds. For the first time, Victor could properly observe the interior around him.

His eyes widened slightly.

The spaceship was far larger than he originally imagined.

Towering metallic structures extended upward like skyscrapers. Unknown machinery covered the walls while countless transparent screens floated in midair displaying symbols Victor could not understand.

The place resembled a forgotten civilization far beyond the current era of the planet.

"Whoa..."

Victor slowly turned around while staring at everything in shock.

"This thing is enormous. How did you manage to keep something this massive hidden all this time?"

Nova raised her chin proudly.

"I am an Elemental Lord level existence. Those pathetic sages outside could never penetrate my concealment barrier."

Victor nodded absentmindedly while still observing the surroundings.

"Should we leave it here or store it inside my space ring?"

Nova’s expression immediately became serious.

"Of course we are taking it with us. The ship has suffered severe damage over time. If we ever want to restore it completely, we will need materials and repairs later."

For a brief moment, sadness flashed through her eyes.

Victor noticed it but did not ask further questions.

"I will hear your story later," he said calmly. "Right now tell me how I leave this place."

As if responding to his words, the ceiling high above suddenly opened apart. Sunlight poured into the chamber from outside, revealing the massive hidden cave surrounding the spaceship.

Victor looked upward.

Without hesitation, he bent his knees slightly before leaping straight into the air. His body shot upward rapidly before landing outside the vessel in a single movement.

Then he extended his hand.

The gigantic spaceship instantly shrank into a stream of light and disappeared into his space ring.

A moment later, Nova suddenly appeared sitting casually on his shoulder.

Victor blinked in surprise.

"You can manifest outside the spaceship too?"

"Well, technically only you can see me right now," Nova replied. "The central system of the ship is already connected directly to your neural pathways."

Victor nodded slowly.

"So that is how it works." 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺

Without wasting further time, he immediately started running toward the distant city at full speed.

The forest around him blurred continuously.

His movements were incredibly fast. Trees flashed past him like shadows while the wind roared beside his ears. Occasionally he used teleportation to skip dozens of meters instantly, making his travel speed even more frightening.

Three hours passed quickly.

Boom!

Victor suddenly stopped moving.

The ground ahead trembled violently as a gigantic creature emerged from the forest. Massive trees snapped apart while an enormous boar slowly stepped into view.

The beast was easily several meters tall.

Dark brown armor covered its body while sharp stone spikes protruded from its back. Every breath from its nostrils released clouds of dust and earth mana into the surroundings.

Victor narrowed his eyes immediately.

"A Mountain Boar."

Nova spoke calmly beside him.

"Elite rank. Earth elemental affinity."

The monster lowered its head and snorted aggressively before charging toward Victor with terrifying momentum. The ground cracked beneath its weight while nearby trees collapsed instantly.

Victor sighed lightly.

He was already preparing the legendary spell formation in his palm.

He honestly did not want to waste unnecessary time fighting a mere elite rank beast.

However, before he could release the spell, Nova suddenly interrupted him.

"Do you want to try something new?"

Victor avoided the charging boar with a short range teleport before replying impatiently.

"What new thing? I do not have time for experiments."

Nova ignored his complaint.

"I observed your combat style carefully. You rely heavily on spells and mana bombardment. It is effective, but inefficient against certain opponents."

A faint crimson glow appeared beside her.

"I have a sword."

Victor raised an eyebrow.

"The special property of this weapon is extremely rare. Its rank can continue increasing depending on the mana infused into it. With your absurd mana reserves, this weapon should suit you perfectly."

Victor became interested immediately.

"There is only one drawback," Nova continued seriously. "If your mana reserves become depleted while still using the sword, it will begin consuming your life force instead."

Victor’s eyes lit up with excitement rather than fear.

"You seriously have something that ridiculous?"

Nova smiled faintly.

"Of course."

Suddenly she used Victor’s space ring directly.

A crimson colored sword instantly materialized inside Victor’s hand.

The weapon looked beautiful and terrifying simultaneously. Strange black patterns covered the blade while dark crimson light flowed across its surface like living blood.

"It is called a Demonic Sword because of its violent nature," Nova explained. "But I think you can handle it. Later I will also teach you sword techniques suited for this weapon."

Victor grinned.

"Thanks. Let me test it first."

While they spoke, the Mountain Boar continued attacking furiously.

Victor repeatedly used teleportation to evade every charge effortlessly. Each movement resembled instantaneous blinking across space itself.

Only then did Nova suddenly realize something.

Her expression changed dramatically.

"Victor..."

Her voice trembled slightly.

"Did you just use Space Jump? You possess space affinity?"

Victor laughed casually.

"We can discuss that later."

Then his gaze returned toward the sword.

"First let me see this thing’s power."

He immediately began pouring mana into the blade.

Boom!

The crimson sword erupted with terrifying energy.

Ancient patterns across the weapon started glowing brilliantly while an overwhelming sharp aura spread throughout the forest. Even the surrounding air seemed to distort under the pressure.

Victor continued infusing more mana relentlessly.

He had no intention of stopping halfway.

Meanwhile, the Mountain Boar became increasingly enraged. Every attack missed completely because of Victor’s teleportation. The frustration drove the creature nearly insane.

Five minutes passed.

Finally, the sword reached full charge.

At that moment, the atmosphere itself changed.

The surrounding wind split apart merely from the sword aura alone. Nearby trees were sliced into pieces without direct contact while cracks spread across the ground beneath Victor’s feet.

Even Nova stared silently at the weapon.

Victor slowly raised the sword.

Then he swung downward once.

A crimson slash flashed across the battlefield instantly.

The charging Mountain Boar froze mid movement.

One second later, its enormous body split cleanly into two perfect halves.

Boom!

Both sides of the corpse crashed heavily onto the ground.

Silence filled the forest.

Victor looked at the sword in amazement before grinning widely.

"Damn. This is cool."

Beside him, Nova remained completely speechless.

At novice rank, Victor already possessed mana reserves comparable to sages, perhaps even Elemental Lords themselves.

And now he also possessed space affinity.

Nova stared at him with disbelief.

"What kind of monster are you exactly...?"
