Chapter 23: Belezer
"Come out now and attack. It would be better if we got this over with fast," William said as he pulled the swords from his back and got ready.
"Sigh, and I was really enjoying having a walk with you alone," Violet said, her normal expression of lust faded and was replaced with a serious look. Her eyes glowed in the dark.
"Hahaha," a deep laugh came from the forest and a figure walked out. He was a man, tall and pretty well built. He had long hair that was tied into a ponytail, dressed in a long cloak that used an old rope as a belt. On his side was a sword.
"Belezer," William muttered through his teeth and tightened his grip.
More men came out from the shadows and backs of trees, twenty in total and all wielding swords, wearing black robes and their faces covered with ceramic masks.
"I told you William, the organization gets what it wants no matter how far you run. Hand over the witch and everything will be fine. You can return to being daddy’s little prince in the west," Belezer spoke. He spread his hands as though he was making a grand sermon.
"Tch, Belezer, if you ever think I would allow you lay a hand on Violet, then you must have no idea what you are in for.
Your organization is a rot in this kingdom, using people like tools. Violet is not one of yours anymore."
Belezer frowned slightly. He looked at Violet. She flinched slightly, her body somewhat reacting to him.
"When I am done here, I’ll drag the witch by the hair and have her finish the project," Belezer said.
"I’d never help you finish it. I’d rather die. My master gave in to your tortures, but I will not. You and the entire Blood Moon organization can rot in hell," Violet said in anger. All her flirtatious attributes had vanished. Only killing intent seeped from her body.
Belezer heard her and did not respond. He pulled his sword. His men took that as their cue and all pulled their weapons as well.
"The time for talk has ended," he said, and immediately all the men started charging in at the same time.
"Violet, handle the henchmen. I’ll go after Belezer," William said and started running. Violet looked at him and stretched her hands like she wanted to stop him, but then she pulled it back. The last time that she had fought Belezer, her body locked up.
"Tch, I might not be able to handle Belezer yet, but you absolute fucking rats can all die," she said in an enraged low tone. Her eyes turned purple as out of nowhere a magical sigil formed on the back of her hands. They looked like arrows that pointed to her fingers in a fine pattern.
The first attacker came close and lunged at her. She stepped to the side and evaded the blade and then slid her palm under. It rested on the chest of the henchman and what followed was a burst of purple hair flames.
WHOOSH!
The flames engulfed the attacker immediately.
"Arghhhhh!" he screamed as he ran off and the flames burned him in a few seconds. By that time her eyes had already moved, she dodged the next attack. A few strands of hair were cut, but her eyes remained focused.
"Die."
She placed her hand on his chest and the flames erupted like the last man.
"Two," she muttered under her breath.
The attackers had all closed in on her at this point. She would not be able to attack them one by one anymore.
"Tch, I’ll not allow you get closer."
"Inferno incinerate."
She clapped her hands together and a massive wave of flames erupted in all directions. It caught a few and also forced the rest back. That was what she needed.
She pointed her two fingers from both hands downward and a compressed jet of flames shot her forward fast. A henchman swung when he saw her coming and she went low. The blade passed above her head while at the same time she used her finger that was still expelling flames to slash through him and cut him in half.
She swung her hand to the front while still in motion and pointed it at the next group of attackers, unleashing a powered flame blast right at them.
BOOM.
Three of them were sent flying into the air. They hit the ground hard and were in pain but not yet dead.
"Four," she counted and got to her feet. She looked around her. Four were dead and a few were injured, leaving only about ten active men that held their swords high and were ready to attack.
"Did Belezer really think twenty of you will be enough to stop me? I am a silver adventurer and a five-star mage. Surely he should have known better," she said as she looked around.
All of a sudden one of the attackers rushed at her in a way that seemed absurd. After all, he had seen all his men die and yet he chose to attack. But then when he was halfway through he suddenly took out something and hurled it at Violet.
She saw it coming, a small sphere crystal. She instinctively pointed her finger up and shot it with flames. The flames hit the crystal and it cracked.
BOOM!
An explosion ripped through the air right there. The force of the blast slammed into Violet hard and hurled her back through the air. She slammed into a tree with so much force it knocked the air out of her. She collapsed to the ground, blood dripping from her head as she struggled. Everything was blurry and she could barely hear.
"Master’s alchemy flame bomb... that’s impossible," she managed to speak as she lay on the ground.
