Chapter 86: 86 | My Boyfriend, My Brand, and The Friend Who Might Ruin Both

The words felt real in a way nothing else had. Not the inheritance talk. Not the complicated arrangement. Not even the sex.

This felt real.

Chloe turned to her mirror. Examined her reflection.

Her hair was a disaster. Dark strands sticking up at odd angles. The blue streak tangled.

Her lips were swollen. Red from kissing.

A hickey bloomed on her collarbone. Dark purple against pale skin.

She looked thoroughly fucked. Thoroughly claimed.

Chloe touched the mark. Her fingers tracing the bruised skin.

Jordan’s mouth had done that. His teeth and tongue marking her as his.

The possessiveness should have bothered her. Should have triggered every independent instinct she’d cultivated over the past year.

Instead it just made her warm.

Chloe shook her head. Turned on the shower.

The water reached temperature in seconds. Steam clouded the small bathroom.

She pulled off her sports bra and shorts. Kicked them aside. Stepped into the tub.

Hot water hit her shoulders. Ran down her back. Sluiced over curves that still ached in pleasant ways.

Chloe tilted her head back. Let the spray soak through her hair. Closed her eyes.

Jordan’s voice echoed in her memory. That rough edge when he’d said "mine" like he meant it.

His hands on her waist. On her hips. Gentle even when his grip tightened. Like she might break if he squeezed too hard.

His face when she’d said "boyfriend" out loud. That immediate softening. The way his hazel eyes had gone warm.

The word replayed in her head. Over and over.

Boyfriend.

Not client. Not subscriber. Not some anonymous screen name sending money through encrypted channels.

God she was in trouble.

Deep, complicated, possibly catastrophic trouble.

Because she liked him. Really liked him.

Not just the money or the potential help. Not just the physical attraction or the way he made her body respond.

She liked him. The person underneath all that.

Chloe shampooed her hair. Worked the coconut-scented soap through the strands.

The blue streak caught her eye. Bright against the dark.

Her signature. Her brand. Her Calypso identifier.

She needed to talk to Kumiko. About Twitch. About streaming. About transitioning away from OnlyFans.

The decision solidified in her chest. Heavy and certain.

She couldn’t keep doing Calypso. Not while dating Jordan for real.

The separation had collapsed. The clean line between Chloe and Calypso dissolving the moment Jordan knocked on her door.

Chloe rinsed her hair. Conditioned it. Rinsed again.

She washed her body quickly. Her hands moving over skin that still remembered Jordan’s touch.

The shower ended. Chloe stepped out. Wrapped herself in her fluffy white towel.

Her reflection stared back at her. Cleaner now. More composed.

But her eyes still held that softness. That warmth.

Boyfriend.

Girlfriend.

Chloe smiled despite herself.

She dried off. Went through her morning routine on autopilot.

Toner. Serum. Moisturizer. Sunscreen.

Her hands moved through the familiar motions while her brain churned.

She needed to figure out the Twitch thing. Soon.

Chloe finished her skincare. Walked to her closet.

What does one wear to an 11 AM communications lecture?

She pulled out black leggings. An oversized cream sweater. White sneakers.

Comfortable. Casual. Not trying too hard.

The outfit made her look like every other college girl on campus. Which was the point.

Chloe got dressed. Pulled her damp hair into a messy bun. Left the blue streak visible.

Her phone sat on the nightstand. Waiting.

Chloe picked it up. Opened her messages.

Kumiko’s contact stared back at her. Complete with the pink heart emoji she’d added herself.

Chloe’s thumb hovered over the keyboard.

This felt like a big step. Asking for help. Admitting she wanted to change.

But necessary.

She started typing.

Chloe: hey!! you awake?

The response came immediately. Because of course Kumiko was awake. The girl probably never slept.

Kumiko: ALWAYS!! 💕✨ what’s up babe??

Chloe smiled. Kumiko’s energy was exhausting but genuine.

Chloe: remember how you kept bugging me about streaming?

Kumiko: OMG YES

Kumiko: ARE YOU FINALLY LISTENING TO ME

Kumiko: I’VE BEEN TELLING YOU FOR MONTHS

Chloe: yeah yeah you were right

Chloe: can you help me set it up?

Kumiko: CAN I HELP YOU

Kumiko: CHLOE

Kumiko: THIS IS THE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE

Kumiko: I’M COMING OVER

Chloe: WAIT

Chloe: i have class at 11

Kumiko: then i’m coming over after class

Kumiko: we’re doing this TODAY

Kumiko: no takebacks

Chloe laughed. Typed back quickly.

Chloe: okay okay

Chloe: that

Kumiko: PERFECT

Kumiko: i’m bringing my whole setup

Kumiko: we’re gonna make you GORGEOUS on camera

Kumiko: well more gorgeous

Kumiko: you know what i mean

Chloe: thanks babe

Kumiko: anytime!! 💕

Kumiko: also

Kumiko: we need to talk about last night

Kumiko: specifically about you and jordan

Kumiko: and the WAY he looked at you

Chloe’s stomach flipped. Her fingers hovering over the keyboard.

Chloe: what about it?

Kumiko: GIRL

Kumiko: you’re dating him aren’t you

Kumiko: don’t lie to me i SAW you two

Fuck.

Chloe bit her lip. Considered lying. Considered deflecting.

But Kumiko would see through it immediately. The girl had terrifying social perception when she focused.

Chloe: yeah

Chloe: we’re dating

Kumiko: I KNEW IT

Kumiko: OMG OMG OMG

Kumiko: THIS IS SO CUTE

Kumiko: YOU’RE SO CUTE

Kumiko: HE’S SO CUTE

Kumiko: wait does alexis know??

Chloe frowned. Typed carefully.

Chloe: i don’t think so

Chloe: why?

Kumiko: because she was acting WEIRD

Chloe’s chest tightened. An uncomfortable twist in her gut.

Alexis.

Jordan had walked her to her car. Made sure she got home safe.

Normal friend behavior. Nothing suspicious.

Except.

Except Alexis had described her exact type. And it matched Jordan perfectly.

Except Alexis had gotten flustered and embarrassed when called out.

Except Alexis had left early. And Jordan had followed.

Chloe shook her head. Pushed the thoughts away.

Jordan was hers. He’d called her his girlfriend this morning. With warmth in his voice and softness in his eyes.

Whatever happened with Alexis didn’t matter.

Chloe: i’m sure it’s nothing

Chloe: alexis probably just had a good night

Kumiko: maybe!!

Kumiko: anyway i’m SO HAPPY for you

Kumiko: jordan seems really sweet

Kumiko: and that VOICE

Kumiko: girl you are SO LUCKY

Chloe smiled despite the lingering unease.

Chloe: thanks babe

Chloe: see you later?

Kumiko: YES!! 💕

Kumiko: gonna make you a twitch STAR
