Chapter 77: The guardian is dying?
"Thaedric!" The Bloodscion said sharply. She raised her hand and purple light poured out and formed a box shield around them. The guardian slammed into the shield, cracking it but unable to break it.
Kagerou get in front of Thaedric, sword ready as he watched the shield that the Bloodscion made shook. He knew there was little he could do to the guardian but he would do what he can.
The guardian raised it’s sword and brought it down on the shield with a crack and more spider web appeared on the shield.
"No you don’t!" Liming shouted and ram into it with his full body but the guardian seems was expecting it because it has dug its feet into the grunted. It barely shake with the force of Liming’s push, instead it’s tentacles latches on him, holding him tight.
Malak was limping towards them but it would he would be too late to do much help.
The Bloodscion and Thaedric understood this thing as one. And they reacted differently. For the Bloodscion, it meant she had to do everything to protect her son.
For Thaedric it meant he had to do what he has been hesitating to do since he discovered the link between him and the guardian.
The Bloodscion reacted first, she held up her left hand and light gathered, and she released it in a beam of purple light that was poison and venom.
The focused beam of light hit the guardian in the chest and this time it worked a little. The combination of poisonous venom and force made a dent in its chest but it quickly regenerated.
"Shit! Shit!" The Bloodscion winced as the guardian bashed her shield. "If only I have my powers! Curse you Emperor!" She watched Liming withering in the guardian grasp and her soon to be broken shield. Her decision made.
She raised her hand and pushed against the force holding her powers down. She pushed hard and the necklace tightened, cutting off her air but she ignored it and pushed even harder. There was a mental click and light exploded around her.
The shield crumbled away and remake, putting only Thaedric and Kagerou in a new shield. The Bloodscion was bleeding from her nose and her face was getting bigger from the necklace strangling her.
But her hand was raised as she unleashed her tier five technique. The light coming from her gathered together into a ball of purple light and lifted up above them.
Then the light started to fall like spotlight but more focused and in a line like sword’s edge. Where the light fall, sizzle and burns, eating deep. Light slices the tentacles away as if they were nothing and then a more focused beam like spotlight fell on the guardian and it hit it like a punch to the gut.
The guardian went down under the force, the ground around it cracking and it supported itself with its hands. It’s body burns, dried flesh peeling away only to be regenerated and burn again.
"Impressive," Liming grunted as he picked himself up. He was weak ans his legs trembled but he hurled himself upright. "If it’s an ordinary rashaka then it would have turn to a puddle on the ground. But I never expected to see this technique for a while yet, Your Majesty."
He looked over and it was as he expected. The Bloodscion was on her knees, hands pointed upright. Holding the technique while the necklace resisted.
The necklace has turned from a normal looking jewelry into a thing with long sharp claws that was digging into her neck. The areas blackened.
Liming started to stumble towards her. "You must stop this your Majesty! Stop! Stop! Stop!"
Thaedric was fighting his own battle. Before the Bloodscion started her fight he went down and sat down. Making himself as comfortable as he could with the pains in his body.
He ignored Kagerou and even when they were pushed away by his mother’s technique he didn’t react. Thaedric went deep into his mind with meditation. He saw the two threads, the natural one that connected him as an Hydraeus and the guardian, and the shining one the Ireland made.
Thaedric was floating in a dark space that he knew to be his mind. "So the two thread is connected to the Fallen." To his mind’s eyes the Fallen is a dark shape, darker than the darkness around them.
It has the same appearance as the one outside but now he could see the threads clearly. Thaedric raised his hand and with a slash downward he tried to cut the thread that the Iridessa made but what happened was a backlash of mana that slammed into him and sent him rolling.
That got the attention of the Fallen and it rose up, polling darkness together with it as it ram down at Thaedric who raised his hand with a scream and to his surprise, lightning flickered around his fingers.
’So I have mana here!’ He didn’t waste time. Thaedric fling lightning at the guardian, breaking away part of its darkness but not enough to stop it.
Dark tentacles snapped out, whip quick and coiled around his legs and yanked him down. Thaedric gathered his lightning in his right palm, pooling it together even as the guardian dragged him towards him and brought its sword down on him.
Thaedric was ready and as the sword came towards him he blasted lightning out of his left hand, giving himself explosive power and lunged himself at the guardian.
He rammed his lightning ball into its chest. And explosion of lightning and force blasted a hole through the creature’s chests, the poison and venom in it eating away at the flesh.
Thaedric was breathing hard after. "Did I just kill a guardian. Well maybe not kill since it’s only its soul or something but still!" Even though the guardian didn’t have the same power as it had outside.
It was still unexpected and Thaedric took his time to enjoy the feeling. Then his eyes widen. "The guardian... is dying?"
