Chapter 348: Chapter 316: He is your father, this is also recorded in the Mahabharata! (Request for monthly tickets!)
The Immortal friends were wearing stern facial expressions.
His eyes swept across the Devas, he took a deep breath, and his chest heaved as he vanished into light in a flash.
Indra was sitting on the ground, head slightly tilted, looking at the spot where the Immortal had vanished in surprise.
Why did he leave just like that?!
The Devas looked at one another and collectively sighed in relief.
Although this Immortal friend was somewhat stubborn, fortunately he was not especially irascible, and didn’t end up cursing them.
Just as he had stood up, they thought they were going to be cursed!
Kashigyakya’s eyes brightened.
He looked at the Pleiades Goddesses and whispered, "Mother, the Immortal is gone, can I now eat whatever I want, play however I want?"
Kashigyakya’s eyes sparkled.
On hearing this, the Pleiades Goddesses frowned slightly, and looked at Kashigyakya with some worry, but still spoke.
"You must listen to your teacher from now on!"
Sambuti said.
Indra was Kashigyakya’s teacher, and it was him who would set out the plan next.
What?!
Kashigyakya opened his mouth and exclaimed, ’Ah’, then shifted his gaze towards Indra.
"Go ahead and eat!"
"Then I’ll take you to play with a bird!"
"It’s a particularly fast bird. If you can catch it, you won’t need to listen to me anymore!"
Indra said with a smile.
On hearing this, Kashigyakya’s eyes immediately lit up.
He slowly clenched his fists, filled with motivation. Catching a bird should be a breeze.
Indra wore a slight smile.
Garuda’s speed was unmatched in the Three Realms; if this creature took flight, hardly anyone in the Three Realms could catch up.
Kashigyakya?!
If he could even touch a feather on Garuda’s tail, that would be impressive!
Thinking this, Indra’s eyes flickered slightly as he looked towards a wooden orange leaf floating in midair.
He pointed with his hand, and amidst the shifting light, the wooden orange leaf that recorded the Immortal’s ritual fell onto his fingertip.
Swish!
Indra’s eyes dropped, and he looked down at the wooden orange leaf at his fingertip.
"The Immortal friend, huh?"
"Not bad!"
"The thing itself is quite extraordinary!"
"Throw it to Kamapala, let him spread the word in the Mortal Realm!"
Indra thought to himself.
Swish!
Meanwhile, the Immortal friend had left the palace and come to Vighna’s garden.
"It’s useless!"
"Did I create something that’s useless!"
The Immortal friend was sulking.
He frowned, feeling displeased, staring ahead, his gaze intense, as if he saw Indra wielding the Vajra Pestle. Then he swung his wooden staff in an attack.
Whoosh! Whoosh!
The stubby wooden staff swung like a long sword, resembling a war mace, creating a fierce wind.
The auspicious rituals that he had developed over years of arduous practice had failed at their first application with the Son of Mahadeva.
He was not willing to accept this!
Bang!
The Immortal friend, drained physically, gasped for air, gripping his staff, and thumped down onto the lawn.
"Huff! Huff!"
"Could it be that all I have done was meaningless?"
The Immortal friend murmured softly.
Swish!
At that moment, streaks of golden light suddenly flashed in front of the Immortal friend.
The Immortal friend looked up.
Instantly, numerous sights filled his vision: bright lotus eyes, a sunflower-like sunny smile, golden earrings, multicolored garlands, a rotating Divine Wheel.
A sacred figure appeared right then.
"Supreme Lord!"
The Immortal friend was startled and quickly stood up, shaking his head with hands clasped in salute.
Vishnu looked down, his smile gentle, and his lotus eyes expressed tranquillity.
"Oh friend of the world!"
"Do not be sorrowful or troubled!"
"Your arduous practice was not in vain; these auspicious rituals are filled with benevolence—it’s just not yet time to prove their value!"
Vishnu said with a smile.
On hearing this, the Immortal friend lowered his head, and said in a deep voice, "But my ritual has already been rejected by the Heavenly Emperor, and there’s no more time to prove its value!"
He wondered if the Heavenly Emperor was specifically targeting him.
Vishnu showed a slight smile.
He blinked, gazing at the Immortals before him.
"Friend of the world,"
"Do not doubt the Heavenly Emperor’s good intentions towards you!"
At this point, Vishnu smiled faintly, his gaze deep as if looking into the distant past, before slowly continuing.
"Let me tell you a story,"
Vishnu said.
Having spoken, he disregarded the puzzled looks of the Immortals and went on.
"A long time ago,"
"In the city of Curved Woman on the earth, there was a king well-versed in the Righteous Law, named Kushika,"
Vishnu said softly.
Upon hearing this, the Immortals were slightly stunned.
Kushika?
This was his grandfather!
"He undertook severe ascetic practices, wishing for a son who would be invincible on earth. His austerity was seen by the Castle Destroyer, who split his power and personally reincarnated as the son of Kushika..."
Vishnu smiled as he spoke.
Upon hearing this, the Immortals’ eyes widened, and their mouths fell open.
"Could it be..."
"Jiye!"
Jiye! Jiye! Jiye!
The Immortals’ eyes glazed over, their voices trembling as they spoke the name.
Jiye!
This was his father!
"Indeed!"
"The maker of the Castle Destroyer who annihilated the Asuras, his power became the son of Kushika, reincarnated as Jiye!"
"Do not doubt his good intentions towards you!"
"Go and drink Soma Wine with Indra!"
Vishnu laughed.
His voice was very light, like the chirping of squirrels in the forest and the chirping of birds at dawn, but it sounded like boundless thunder to the ears of the Immortals.
Boom!
Rumbling!
Peals of thunder echoed in the minds of the Immortals.
He felt as if struck by lightning!
He stood frozen in place, eyes wide open, struggling to accept this reality.
How could this be?
The Immortals furrowed their brows, deep in thought.
Upon reflection, his father, King Jiye, had abdicated early and then his soul ascended to the Heavenly Realm, apparently returning to the Heavenly Emperor.
"..."
The Immortals fell silent.
Vishnu showed a slight smile.
This matter was fairly commonplace; it was not unusual for the Devas to descend their powers into mortals.
Indra probably even forgot about it!
"Go on!"
"Friend of the world!"
"Go assist Kashigyakya, fulfill your mission, and in time you will ascend as a Brahma Immortal!"
Vishnu said.
As he finished speaking, a faint golden light enveloped Vishnu, circling around his body before he abruptly disappeared from there.
Seeing this scene, the Immortals wore a complex expression; they brought their hands together and bowed deeply.
"I must go back!"
The Immortals muttered to themselves.
He took a deep breath to calm his turbulent emotions, then grasped his staff firmly and took big strides toward Kashigyakya.
Whoosh!
In the blink of an eye, he turned into a beam of Divine Light and reappeared in front of the temple.
Indra and the other Devas were gathered in a group, all convened in front of the temple.
"!!!"
Seeing Indra’s figure, the Immortals’ eyelids twitched, struggling to accept it, but thinking of assisting Kashigyakya, he gritted his teeth and braced himself to approach.
"You have arrived!"
Indra said calmly, raising his right arm, pinching a wooden tangerine leaf between two fingers, and handed it over.
"Right!"
"Those children ceremonies are quite useful, filled with auspiciousness!"
"I have already told Kamapala about this, and he should help promote it in the Mortal Realm for you!"
