Chapter 318: Chapter 314: Thunderbolt Confrontation

The Nine Tribulations Celestial Thunder Body. This was the second Body Refining Technique Ning Jiang cultivated, after the Great Sun Glazed Golden Body.

This Body Refining Technique had four realms: Entry Level, Minor Achievement, Great Success, and Perfection.

The Entry Level and Minor Achievement realms were achievable within the Spirit Realm. However, Great Success and Perfection required one to reach the Primordial Spirit Fourth Tribulation Realm.

Ever since Ning Jiang entered the Divinity Transformation Realm, he had been using the power of the Celestial Thunder Banner to temper his Physical Power. Just two days ago, his Nine Tribulations Celestial Thunder Body had officially broken through from Minor Achievement to Great Success.

Once he reached Great Success, his physique, while perhaps not invincible across the entire Primordial Spirit Realm, would fear almost no opponent below the Immortal Realm.

RUMBLE.

Pang Jie threw a punch, his fist surging with roiling thunderlight. Immense Thunder Power converged upon it, and in the eyes of the crowd, the strike was like a bolt of Celestial Thunder descending to obliterate Ning Jiang.

Such Fist Power was enough to kill any expert at the God-Seizing Realm.

Duan Lengya and the other members of the younger generation could only manage bitter smiles. Compared to monsters like these, they were still far too weak.

Ning Jiang stood there, unmoving.

The mighty gale from the punch swept toward him, sending his full head of white hair streaming back.

His slender fingers, flawless as White Jade, gently clenched into a fist. He threw a punch of his own.

BAM!

Their fists collided violently, like two crashing meteorites. A deafening sound, sharp enough to pierce metal and shatter stone, exploded outward.

"I’d like to see how many of my punches you can take."

Pang Jie’s eyes blazed, arcs of electricity seeming to dance in their depths. He drew back his arms, took a sharp breath, and unleashed a furious barrage of punches at Ning Jiang, like a string of cannonballs.

Ning Jiang’s expression remained unchanged. His attacks lacked the savage fury of Pang Jie’s, carrying instead a strangely light and agile grace. Each punch he threw seemed to drift weightlessly, betraying no hint of its Power.

Yet when their fists collided, his were not the least bit inferior.

BAM! BAM! BAM! BAM! BAM!...

The area instantly descended into a maelstrom of violence. Annular waves of thunderous energy swept out in every direction.

This was not merely a clash of Thunder Power, but also a contest of raw Physical Power.

The disciples of the Wind Thunder Sect were also adept at using Thunder Power to temper their bodies.

"I’ve heard there’s an Ancient Thunder Pool within the Wind Thunder Sect. In fact, the Sect was founded because of it. Pang Jie’s physique must have been baptized in that pool; that’s why it’s so formidable."

"It’s one thing for Pang Jie to be this strong, but for Ning Jiang’s body to be his equal... now that’s just bizarre."

A buzz of discussion rose from the crowd.

Their brutal, fist-to-flesh combat was utterly shocking and made the blood of the spectators boil. The Power in every single punch was enough to severely injure a God-Seizing Realm expert.

Meanwhile, the many members of the younger generation turned pale as they watched the display of combat prowess.

The gap was just too vast!

"One hundred punches!"

After three breaths’ time, both fighters stopped simultaneously. In that short span, they had exchanged a full hundred punches.

’This man’s physique is incredible.’

A solemn look appeared in Pang Jie’s eyes. A man like him, though utterly confident in his victory, would never underestimate an opponent like Ning Jiang.

Even a lion uses its full strength to hunt a rabbit. Underestimating an opponent was always the gravest of errors.

In their recent exchange, the Physical Power Ning Jiang had displayed was in no way inferior to his own. He even suspected Ning Jiang was still holding something back.

’Hmph. It doesn’t matter if you have a few trump cards up your sleeve.’

A moment later, Pang Jie’s resolve hardened.

He had challenged countless powerful foes and had long ago cultivated an aura of invincibility.

"Slay! Thunder Tiger Slayer!"

CRACKLE!

Pang Jie clenched his fist, and a torrent of Thunderbolt energy erupted. An earth-shattering tiger’s roar resounded from his knuckles, roiling the spectators’ blood and qi and unsettling their very souls.

As he punched, the brilliant Thunderbolt coalesced into a giant tiger that threw its head back and roared before pouncing on Ning Jiang.

"Thunder River."

The blood and qi in Ning Jiang’s body surged, and a series of CRACKLING sounds erupted from his very bones and flesh. He threw a punch, and a vast, majestic river of purple thunder surged forth.

This was a Martial Technique from the Nine Tribulations Celestial Thunder Body.

As Ning Jiang grew stronger, the might of this Martial Technique naturally increased as well.

RUMBLE.

It was an incredibly fierce collision, the resulting boom deafening. Streaks of light, like Divine Swords slashing through the air, flared into existence.

"Again."

Hair flying wildly in his rage, Pang Jie continued to unleash his Thunder Tiger Slayer, but Ning Jiang met and deflected every single attack.

"Let’s see what you can really do."

After ten exchanges, Ning Jiang seemed to grow bored. His technique shifted, and the Thunderbolt condensed into a Thunder Seal that he blasted forward.

POW.

The Thunder Tiger was instantly shattered. The Thunder Seal, its momentum unchecked, continued hurtling toward Pang Jie.

"Block it!"

Pang Jie’s expression changed. He threw up layer after layer of Thunderbolt barriers before him—a full ten of them.

But the Thunder Seal smashed through them as if they were splitting bamboo, shattering all ten layers in succession and bearing down on Pang Jie.

"Break!"

Pang Jie lashed out with a final strike. The Thunder Seal, having spent most of its Power, was finally shattered.

"Such a powerful attack!"

"Pang Jie was clearly on the back foot in that last exchange."

Cries of astonishment rose from all sides.

A grave expression appeared in Pang Jie’s eyes. The power of that single move was enough to indisputably rank Ning Jiang among the monsters of their generation.

"Fine. I’ll let you witness my true power."

Pang Jie glanced at Su Yuying and her entourage, deciding it was time to stop holding back.

He wanted to put on a good show for Su Yuying. Perhaps if he impressed her, he might one day have a chance to enter the Moon God Palace.

"Celestial Thunder Hammer!"

Pang Jie stepped forward. Blazing Thunderbolt energy exploded from him, rapidly spreading in all directions. Arcs of lightning leaped and slithered about like giant pythons.

But a moment later, all that Thunderbolt energy converged back toward him, coalescing in his hands to form a great warhammer.

"I didn’t expect Pang Jie to bring out the Celestial Thunder Hammer so soon. Still, this is for the best. Taking this kid down quickly will surely satisfy Palace Master Su."

"The Celestial Thunder Hammer is one of our Wind Thunder Sect’s signature Martial Techniques. With the Power of this move, Pang Jie can even briefly contend with some experts of the Immortal Realm. His chances of victory are now over ninety percent."

Several of the Wind Thunder Sect’s Earth Martial Realm experts nodded in agreement.

Even Su Yuying gave it a second glance, offering two words of commentary: "Not bad."

"You’re too kind, Palace Master Su."

The Wind and Thunder Sect Leader chuckled, his eyes crinkling with amusement.

"Time to die, Ning Jiang!"

Pang Jie gripped the hammer with both hands, his entire body surging with Thunderbolt energy. He looked like an invincible Thunder God.

RUMBLE.

He leaped high into the air, bringing the hammer crashing down toward Ning Jiang’s head.

The tremendous sound deafened countless Martial Artists. In their vision, nothing remained but the dazzling Celestial Thunder Hammer.

"This is bad!" Countless faces paled. Many even squeezed their eyes shut, certain that Ning Jiang was doomed. They feared such a blow would pulverize him into a bloody pulp.

But then, an even more brilliant bolt of Thunderbolt energy erupted, stunning the world.
