The moment the Purple gauze appeared, it swept toward the Vortex Turtle buried in the sand dune.
The fine net of gauze passed through the sand, floating directly toward the turtle shell. When it touched the turtle’s body, it quickly contracted like a rope.
The tough gauze enveloped the Vortex Turtle’s body, wrapping it completely.
The already-suffering Vortex Turtle was squeezed even tighter, causing it to let out incessant, despairing cries.
The protruding barnacles on its shell were crushed, forcing the shell-people to hide in the crevices.
"The enemy is here! Attack!"
Despite the terrifying scene, these shell-people showed no fear. Hiding in the crevices, they began to produce shells.
White shells climbed over the Purple gauze covering the turtle’s shell. The tough-looking gauze was quickly enveloped by the shells, then shattered under the immense pressure.
The shell-people were numerous. They quickly swarmed over every part of the shell and began to corrode the gauze with their own shells. Soon, the gauze enveloping the Vortex Turtle was riddled with holes.
However, that layer of gauze was but a minor loss to the Purple sky-net.
The layered nets of gauze swirled, and several more identical nets descended to cover the Vortex Turtle.
In the blink of an eye, several more layers had blanketed it.
Seeing this, the shell-people began to do the same thing all over again, using their shells to corrode the nets trapping the turtle.
Just like the shell-people Mo Ling had seen in Oasis City, they endlessly repeated the same actions. It was what they did best.
However, the corrosive effect of their shells soon failed to keep pace with the speed at which the gauze was wrapping the turtle.
As it wrapped the Vortex Turtle in its nets, the Purple sky-net was also shaking nonstop.
With each tremor, countless layers of identical gauze appeared in the sky, seemingly without end.
This gauze also made the sky even more Purple. Sunlight passed through the gauze, casting a Purple light over the entire sand dune.
Layer after layer of Purple nets drifted down with the sunlight, blanketing the turtle’s shell. The efforts of the shell-people were but a drop in the ocean.
The Vortex Turtle seemed to sense its dangerous situation and struggled ceaselessly.
After bursting through the nets on its body, it looked angrily toward the sky, and the plates of its shell began to vibrate.
As if there were pistons under its shell, the plates began to move up and down rapidly. The amplitude and frequency of each plate’s vibration were completely different.
Seeing this, the shell-people quickly hid in the crevices of the shell, as if avoiding something.
As the shell plates vibrated, all sorts of strange cracks began to appear on the nets in the sky.
It was as if some indescribable brute force was tearing the sky-net apart from a distance.
Each shell plate vibrated to a different height, and this change in height seemed to be directly copied onto the Purple sky-net, violently tearing it to shreds.
The sky-net, originally on a single plane, was instantly pulled into different planes. The speed of the shell’s vibration suddenly increased, and the entire sky-net was torn full of fissures.
’This Vortex Turtle actually has an ability like this?’

Seeing the terrifying commotion from the two creatures’ battle, Mo Ling quickly moved further away.
He had no desire to be wrapped in that gauze or torn apart by the power of the turtle’s shell.

Mo Ling couldn’t understand why the Vortex Turtle was able to touch him, a being from the future. Perhaps the creature had some other special ability.

At this moment, crystal-clear Vortex Turtle eggs fell into the sand pit.
The Vortex Turtle’s body stiffened and then went limp.
Its shell was still vibrating weakly, struggling to shred the attacks.
It wanted to climb out of the sand pit. It tried several times but couldn’t get up. Facing the Purple gauze creature’s endless assault, it had exhausted its strength.
Every time it climbed to the edge of the pit, it would slide back to the bottom, trapped.
Quicksand slid down into the pit, trapping more than half of the Vortex Turtle’s body. The shell projectiles previously fired by the shell-people had solidified the surrounding sand dunes, making it even harder for the turtle to push through the flowing sand.
The shells, originally released to protect the Vortex Turtle, had now become the chains that imprisoned it.
After its strength was exhausted, the vibration of its shell also slowed, no longer able to stop the incoming gauze.
Layer after layer of nets covered it, pressing the Vortex Turtle down into the sand pit.
Seeing that the situation was bad, the shell-people hiding in the crevices of the shell crawled out again, wanting to repeat their old trick and corrode the nets.
But when the shells climbed onto the nets, the interconnected web-like structures became even harder, adding a great deal of weight to the Vortex Turtle, which was already unable to get up.

"I’m trapped... I can’t get out..." the Vortex Turtle answered weakly.
It didn’t blame the shell-people for their actions. Instead, it lay limp on the ground, allowing the shells to cover it.
The shells spread over the sand dune, burying the entire turtle shell within, until the Vortex Turtle could no longer be seen.
The white shells continued to spread, forming a small white hill that buried everything related to the Vortex Turtle.
Only the surrounding ring of a damp, saltwater lake could prove the Vortex Turtle had ever existed.
After seeing the Vortex Turtle trapped in the sand dune, the Purple gauze creature stopped its attack.
Twisted gauze spewed out again, completely replacing its damaged body. Before long, it was fully restored, returning to the state it was in when it first appeared.
Seeing how powerful this Purple gauze creature was, Mo Ling quickly floated a little farther away.
But the Purple gauze creature didn’t seem to see Mo Ling, showing no reaction to the Block person floating about in the sky.
’Can’t it see me?’
Mo Ling was puzzled. The Vortex Turtle had clearly been able to see him, yet this Purple gauze creature couldn’t perceive him at all.

After trapping the Vortex Turtle in the sand dune, the Purple gauze creature just stayed in the air, seemingly plotting something.
A moment later, a ball of golden light suddenly flashed in the center of the Purple sky-net. The gauze rolled up this golden light and placed it on top of the sand pit that buried the Vortex Turtle.
As soon as the golden light left the Purple gauze, it acted like a boisterous child, starting to dash around everywhere, ricocheting between the cracks in the shells. The Purple gauze quickly grabbed the golden light and placed it in front of a pool of clear water.
After seeing the clear water, the golden light immediately stopped running around. Instead, it circled a few times and excitedly dove in.
In the blink of an eye, it merged into the water and disappeared without a trace.
