Chapter 39: Goodbye, Author-san.
On Earth... specifically in apartment number 221 inside a routine residential building in a bustling city...
The Author-san sat reclining on his sofa, letting out sarcastic, intermittent laughter while watching "cat memes" on his phone at exactly four o’clock in the morning local time, sipping his soda with immense celebration and euphoria.
He raised his eyes from his phone and spoke maliciously, "Haha... yes... this is your just reward, you scoundrel, Cain!"
The Author-san had planned this diabolical plot for a very long time so that it would be precise, well-woven, and perfect without a single loophole. Cain, who drank the poison, should now be sleeping completely stripped of his mind and logic in the embrace of Princess Sylvia, on the verge of devouring her due to his tyrannical, merciless, and raging lust... and at that fatal moment, Lucy would suddenly open the door to witness them together in that scandalous position!
In this easy and ingenious manner, he would have utterly shattered the familial relationship and the complex bonds between these two spouses. He would successfully restrain and humiliate Cain with utter ease, merely by moving and directing Sylvia like a chess piece and feeding her some secret information.
Surely, Sylvia was now deeply immersed in Cain’s embrace, and Cain was on the verge of destroying and crushing her due to his wild instincts. The Author-san did not care about Sylvia or what would happen to her anyway; her narrative purpose would conclude completely the moment Lucy saw Cain pinning Sylvia beneath him.
Imagining this bloody scene and the destruction of their relationship made him feel a dominant euphoria. This trap might cause them to obliterate one another out of pure obsession and jealousy, while he silently supported his true protagonist with some assistance and opportunities to ascend to the absolute Truth Level. By then, the plot of his new novel would be entirely ready, written in letters of gold about how his protagonist would ultimately defeat this arrogant villain!
He had left his novel for a very long time without any update, after his ability to perceive the "Scrolls of Destiny" was completely severed following the severe punishment imposed upon him by the Supreme Council for disclosing the secrets of fate in his writings and his continuous attempts to alter the course of destiny.
In any case, his ability to predict the future had vanished long ago—specifically since Cain was transmigrated into this universe before the events of the Holy Academy even began. Now, he possessed absolutely no capability to anticipate what Cain would do or how he would behave.
The Author-san was well aware deep down that there was a mysterious, supreme power assisting Cain from behind the curtains, because that cursed "System" certainly did not appear out of nowhere! A creeping sense of fear began to seep into his heart; that power which granted Cain the System possessed authority and privileges far higher than his own. To the extent that when he previously attempted to recall Cain’s soul and pull it back to his original world, he was effortlessly crushed and blocked by that higher entity.
But now, he falsely believed that his current plan was unfathomable, and that he would finally succeed in ensnaring Cain in an intricate, inescapable predicament.
The Author-san muttered with an arrogant smile, "Why don’t we check the news now, and enjoy the look on their beautiful faces when Lucy sees the one she loves falling into the abyss of lust with another woman?"
With a swift wave of his hand while reclining on the sofa, the Author-san tore open a dimensional window the size of a large television screen, monitoring the events of the royal suite. He waited eagerly with wide eyes to see something thrilling—such as a naked, unconscious man confronting an enraged, obsessed woman, tearing each other apart in a bloody battle...
But... wait!!
Princess Sylvia was completely alone in the room! There was no trace of Cain, and no entity accompanied her. She was sitting on the edge of the bed, her facial expressions utterly resentful and furious, gripping her hands in anger and crying from sheer disappointment!
The Author-san was on the verge of losing his mind; the shock struck him like a thunderbolt! Where did that cursed scoundrel go?! Was it not supposed to be absolute and certain that he drank the wine containing the forbidden, lethal aphrodisiac capable of destroying his immunity and causing a highly negative reaction along with a near-total clouding of his logical brain functions?! How did he escape?!
Driven by a flood of violent rage, the Author-san rapidly abandoned his human form. His external appearance shifted, transforming into his original magical entity: a terrifying, absolute dark mass and a complete black entity possessing eyes that gleamed and radiated with spiritual light.
He violently ripped the dimensional barrier between planet Earth and Universe 431 open, suddenly crossing through the void directly into the room where the anxiously seated Sylvia was. He roared at her in a thundering, terrifying, and earth-shaking voice, boiling with rage, "Where is he?! Why is he not here in your embrace?! Did you slack off and fail to feed him the cursed wine I gave you?!"
Sylvia jumped in pure, lethal terror from the aura of this dominant entity that had appeared out of nowhere. She began to justify her stance with a trembling body, unshed tears glistening in her eyes, "I swear to you... I swear to you, Great Master, that I gave it to him! I carved the plan meticulously. I even placed a highly, highly attractive magical scent for males in the corridor so he would follow it instinctively and arrive here... I... I do not understand where he disappeared to or how he resisted all of this!"
The Author-san was on the brink of exploding and boiling from intense vexation. Even after all this meticulous and masterful orchestration, that scoundrel Cain still managed to find a loophole and escape his tight grip!
He asked her in a sharp, hissing voice, "Then what about Lucy?! Where is she now?!"
Sylvia shook her trembling head, trying her best not to cry or faint from the sheer intensity of the terrifying spiritual aura he was emitting.
The Author-san did not waste a single second. He immediately unleashed his exploratory consciousness with the full extent of his divine power to sweep the entire surroundings and search for Cain’s location. When his divine consciousness permeated and penetrated the walls of the luxury suite bearing number 55... he never realized that he had walked of his own free will straight into the slaughterhouse, falling into a trap prepared for him in advance!
The moment his consciousness and mental energy entered Room 55, a terrifying magnetic pulling force resembling a cosmic black hole erupted, specifically targeting his own consciousness and soul to absorb and confine them!
The black entity’s eyes widened in sheer horror. He attempted with all the mental strength and dominance he possessed to pull his soul back and sever his mental energy before it could be completely vacuumed into this hell generated from Lucy’s Truth stage.
When he finally succeeded in liberating his mental power and cutting the connection with extreme difficulty, the dimensional barrier snapped shut. The Author-san gasped violently, collapsing onto the floor of his apartment on planet Earth, panting with rapid breaths, his spiritual body trembling as he tried to recover and recalibrate the balance of his mental energy, which had almost been dissipated.
Yet, while gathering the shattered pieces of his soul, he noticed something bizarre. There were glowing magical runes harshly stamped and carved directly upon his manifested divine soul, forcing him to read them against his will. It was a written message stating:
{If you are reading this right now, you cursed, hidden entity... I am letting you know that I will allow you to escape and save your skin tonight only; because right now, I am absolutely heading to a closed area and an isolated world that even I am personally ignorant of until morning with my beloved Cain. Therefore, I have no free time to waste dealing with you or tearing your soul apart tonight... , goodbye!}
At that exact moment, the Author-san’s blind rage almost destroyed the apartment and everything around it in the world, and the nerves and walls of his mind nearly collapsed and crumbled entirely!
How did he fail to anticipate this catastrophic result?! Had he lost this round with such ease, falling into the trap of his own making? Nay, what was even more profound and bitter... had his foolish planning inadvertently brought their relationship closer, melting the distances between these two and driving them straight into each other’s arms without him even knowing?!
