Chapter 265: Chapter 164: Given Shen Yuan is a Dumbass, Solve for Why Li Zhi Likes Shen Yuan (Part 2)

Even Zhuo Peipei, who was right beside him, felt stung by the warning.

The class president immediately shrank back, just as cowardly as Shen Yuan.

Zhou Shaojie arrived earlier than usual today, walking into the classroom with a light spring in his step, just like always.

However, when his gaze fell upon his seat, his jaw dropped in astonishment—his two deskmates were sitting at their desks, studying diligently.

"What the—? Zhuo Peipei, are you on something?" Zhou Shaojie’s eyes widened, his face a mask of disbelief as he stared at her as if he were seeing something impossible.

After all, at this time of day, Zhuo Peipei should have been playing on her phone or chatting in a QQ group, definitely not doing practice problems so seriously like this!

Hearing Zhou Shaojie’s voice, Zhuo Peipei slowly raised her head. Her gaze was calm as she looked at him and said lightly, "The joint midterm exams are coming up. You don’t want to fail to even break 640, do you?"

Zhou Shaojie’s mouth twitched violently. "Holy crap, it’s not like I can get 640 in the first place!"

Just then, Shen Yuan, who had been buried in his work, suddenly chimed in, "English is your only weak spot. If you work hard, you might just make it. Your score on last month’s test wasn’t bad, right?"

Zhou Shaojie thought about it and felt that Shen Yuan had a point. He nodded, a hint of seriousness in his eyes. "Well... I guess I’ll give it a try?"

And so, when Yang Ze and Chen Mingyu arrived at the classroom, they felt like the sky was falling.

"No way! No way!"

Yang Ze shouted in disbelief, "I can accept it from Lao Yuan, but Ah Jie, you’re getting in on the rat race too?"

His eyes were wide, staring in utter astonishment at Zhou Shaojie’s look of Concentration as he studied, his face a mask of shock.

Chen Mingyu chimed in, yelling, "Fuck! Ah Jie, you’re not allowed to study hard!"

Zhou Shaojie looked up at his two good buddies, slowly raising his head. He gave them a disdainful look and snorted, "Ignorant fools! I am to become an English master! Do not disturb me while I study ’Ing-uh-leesh’!"

With that, Ah Jie lowered his head and continued reciting English vocabulary words.

Ah Jie wasn’t reciting the words loudly, but in the ears of Yang Ze and Chen Mingyu, the sound was deafening.

"Fuck! Let’s grind! Everyone, grind!"

Seeing this, Chen Mingyu said no more. He quickly dropped his backpack, pulled his error correction notebook out from his desk, and prepared to join the battle of the grind.

"Wait..."

Watching the scene unfold, Yang Ze felt a massive headache coming on.

Morning self-study was for Chinese. Sister Lan strolled between the two classes, listening to the students’ reading aloud and observing their less-than-energetic states.

It’s senior year, after all. A lack of love isn’t a guarantee, but a lack of sleep definitely is.

But occasionally, there were exceptions.

In Class 15, Sister Lan watched Shen Yuan, who was sitting upright in his seat, his voice loud and clear, his expression serious.

Full of vigor.

It was clear, however, that Zhou Shaojie beside him was already suffering from a mild concussion.

The moment the bell rang, ending morning self-study, Zhou Shaojie let out a long sigh of relief, then shot a resentful look at Shen Yuan sitting next to him.

"Lao Yuan," Zhou Shaojie complained, "can you go a little easier next time?"

Hearing this, Shen Yuan first paused, then a wicked grin spread across his face. "Hm? You can’t take it already? Is it because I’m too big?"

With that one sentence, Shen Yuan had stepped on two landmines.

Sure enough, the moment the words left his mouth, Zhou Shaojie’s expression turned extremely sour. His eyes widened in utter disbelief as he stared at Shen Yuan, as if he had just heard the most ridiculous thing in the world.

"Huh?!" Zhou Shaojie’s voice involuntarily jumped an octave. "What kind of joke is that? *I* can’t take it?"

At these words, the two in the front row immediately turned around.

"Yeah, yeah, this Ah Jie is just a loser!"

"Get lost, get lost!" Zhou Shaojie tried to drive away the two troublemakers. "What do you guys know!"

Seeing this, Yang Ze chuckled mischievously and added, "Aww, can’t take it at such a young age. I really don’t know what you’ll do when you’re older, Ah Jie."

Shen Yuan, meanwhile, shook his head, feigning a look of pity. "Don’t say that. Our Jie here is all about cherishing the present, you know. He wants to experience his body’s different strength levels at every age, every month, and even every single day."

At Shen Yuan’s words, both Yang Ze and Chen Mingyu couldn’t help but suck in a sharp breath, clearly shocked at Ah Jie’s "high intensity."

"You need some self-control, Ah Jie."

"Pfft, pfft, pfft! What are you guys talking about!"

Seeing Ah Jie’s reaction, Shen Yuan said, "I heard that ’taking off’ too much is bad for your hearing."

"Right, and your face will start to look more and more perverted."

With that, Chen Mingyu flashed a brilliant smile. "See? I’m so sunny and wholesome."

Hearing this, Ah Jie just sneered, then delivered a sharp critique of Chen Mingyu without hesitation: "If you were in Sichuan, you’d at least be a top-tier loli!"

Chen Mingyu didn’t get angry. Instead, he just smiled faintly and retorted, "You outsiders will never understand that feeling of tightness!"

"Get lost, you gay!"

Just as the boys were about to continue their argument, Yang Yishui walked in through the classroom door.

Eldest Female Cousin was holding a stack of papers as she entered, and at first, Ah Jie thought it was just today’s homework and didn’t pay it much mind.

However, when Eldest Female Cousin uttered the single word "test," Ah Jie’s mind went completely blank.

"You don’t have to do the listening or composition sections."

The test papers fluttered down, each one like a great stone settling on Ah Jie’s heart.
