Chapter 194: Chapter 139: Shen Yuan’s Two Love Letters
With that, Li Zhi stuffed the train tickets into her pocket without a second thought. From the way she acted, it was obvious she had no intention of returning them to Shen Yuan.
Shen Yuan didn’t plan on saying anything about it.
’She can have them. They’d just end up in the trash if I kept them anyway.’
"Anything else?"
Shen Yuan shook his head. "Nope. I’m going to head back now."
"Go on, lone wolf."
Obviously, that wasn’t a compliment.
Shen Yuan rolled his eyes at Li Zhi, then turned and walked toward his house.
Just as Shen Yuan stepped inside and was about to close the door, he caught a glimpse of Li Zhi still leaning against her own doorway behind him.
"You’re not going back in?" Shen Yuan asked.
Li Zhi replied unhurriedly, "I’m just seeing if my little moron can make it home by himself."
Hearing this, Shen Yuan retorted irritably, "I can. Home safe!"
"Bye-bye then." Li Zhi seemed satisfied with his answer. The corners of her mouth lifted slightly, revealing a barely perceptible smile.
With that, Li Zhi closed her door without a moment’s hesitation, leaving Shen Yuan standing alone at his own entrance. He stared at the shut door, an amused feeling bubbling up inside him.
"What a hopeless tsundere," Shen Yuan muttered under his breath. He shook his head and turned to walk inside.
Li Zhi hadn’t actually left. She was still quietly pressed against her door, silently watching Shen Yuan through the peephole.
Li Zhi saw Shen Yuan’s lips move, as if he had said something.
’Hmph! That moron Shen Yuan is definitely bad-mouthing me.’
’Oh well. I’m in a good mood today, so I won’t lower myself to arguing with that moron.’ A faint smile played on Li Zhi’s lips.
As the thought crossed her mind, her hand reflexively dove into her pocket. After a moment of fumbling, she gently pulled out the two train tickets.
These two tickets had belonged to Shen Yuan, but now they were hers.
Li Zhi studied the tickets in her hand, her fingers unconsciously stroking them, as if she could feel Shen Yuan’s presence through the thin pieces of paper.
For some reason, her mood suddenly lifted.
"Whatcha lookin’ at?"
Just as Li Zhi was lost in her own world, Old Li’s voice suddenly sounded in her ear.
Li Zhi quickly put the tickets away.
"Nothing."
Li Zhi stared straight at her dad.
’It’s best not to say anything right now.’
For a moment, father and daughter simultaneously came up with the exact same way to handle the situation.
Old Li saw the panic on his daughter’s face and silently turned around.
"Well, I’m going to make dinner. How much do you want today?"
"Just half a bowl. I’m having ice cream later."
Old Li nodded.
Seeing Old Li walk away, Li Zhi quickly fled back to her bedroom.
Hearing his daughter’s hurried slam of the door, Old Li couldn’t help but chuckle.
"Well, well. That Shen Yuan kid’s got some moves. Already sending love letters."
"What?" Xu Chan looked at Old Li in confusion.
"Our girl probably just got a love letter. From Shen Yuan."
In an instant, a fiery passion for gossip ignited in Xu Chan’s eyes.
Old Li shook his head. "Don’t make a scene, and don’t ask about it. They know what they’re doing."
In her bedroom, Li Zhi had no idea that her father had just interpreted her behavior as that of someone who’d been caught by her parents after receiving a love letter.
If Li Zhi knew, she probably would have just explained everything to Old Li directly.
Li Zhi sat on her chair, studying the tickets in her hand.
’Hmph! How dare that moron Shen Yuan go to Zhejiang University all by himself!’
Though she said this, a faint smile was clearly visible on her face.
But when she thought about what Shen Yuan had said earlier, her face began to burn.
’How could that shameless moron say something like that! So audacious! Has he been watching too much *Defend and Steal*?!’
After cursing Shen Yuan a couple of times, Li Zhi looked at the two tickets in her hand and was suddenly faced with a dilemma.
’Where should I put them?’
After thinking it over and over, Li Zhi decided she didn’t want to think anymore.
’Whatever, I’ll just put them all together.’
With that, Li Zhi opened the bottom drawer of her desk.
The question mark lamp that Shen Yuan had bought her was also in there.
Seeing the lamp, Li Zhi couldn’t help but recall that moron’s previous actions.
"That moron Shen Yuan!"
Saying that, Li Zhi placed the two train tickets into the drawer.
Looking at the tickets in the drawer, a sweet smile spread across Li Zhi’s face.
