Chapter 152: Chapter 124: Tell Me! Who’s That Guy

He Zhiyu watched Li Zhi stroll back to the classroom alone, his heart filled with confusion.

’What’s going on?’ He clearly remembered Li Zhi leaving with Shen Yuan, so why was she the only one coming back now?

Filled with questions, He Zhiyu waited for Li Zhi to sit down before asking curiously, "Hey, Zhizhi, didn’t you leave with Shen Yuan? Where’d he go? How come you’re back by yourself?"

The moment she heard Shen Yuan’s name, Li Zhi’s expression darkened. The scene that had just unfolded flashed through her mind, and a spark of anger flared up inside her.

"Who cares about him!" Li Zhi snapped. "That fucking idiot Shen Yuan isn’t some piglet. If he gets lost, he’ll find his own way back."

He Zhiyu almost burst out laughing at Li Zhi’s words.

The little author’s mouth twitched slightly. He inwardly marveled, ’That’s a surprisingly vivid description.’

Still, seeing Li Zhi so obviously angry, He Zhiyu was a little worried. He asked cautiously, "Did you two have a fight?"

"No," Li Zhi answered blankly, seeming impatient with the question.

He Zhiyu blinked. Seeing the frosty look on Li Zhi’s face, he felt a little intimidated, but he still gathered his courage and continued, "But... you look really mad right now..."

Before he could finish, a sharp glare shot straight at him.

He Zhiyu’s heart skipped a beat. He quickly shut his mouth and scurried back to his seat like a frightened rabbit.

’Young Master Li, you call this *not* fighting?’

But He Zhiyu didn’t dare ask again. After all, the little author was already feeling flustered.

About a minute or two later, Shen Yuan drifted in like a gust of wind and landed squarely in his seat.

He’d barely even warmed his seat when he felt a sharp gaze pierce him like an arrow. He turned to see Li Zhi glaring daggers at him.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, what’s this all about? I just mentioned one of your embarrassing stories. It’s not like you haven’t talked about mine," Shen Yuan said quickly.

"You’re just not allowed!" Li Zhi’s voice was an octave higher than his.

"So it’s rules for thee, but not for me, huh!"

"I don’t care! Hmph!" Li Zhi angrily whipped her head around, her ponytail flicking through the air as she gave Shen Yuan the back of her head. Clearly, she didn’t want to talk to him anymore.

But just then, a brightly colored red wrapper suddenly appeared in front of Li Zhi, as if materializing out of thin air.

"Ta-da! Want Want Milk Candy. Want one?" Shen Yuan grinned, shaking the candy in his hand.

Li Zhi glanced at the milk candy and snatched it.

"Gimme."

Before Shen Yuan could even unwrap a milk candy for himself, Ah Jie appeared by their desks.

"Yuan, I want some too." Ah Jie beamed at Shen Yuan, his big eyes twinkling with desire.

’What’s a fucking idiot kid done wrong? He just wants a piece of candy.’

Shen Yuan shook his head helplessly, casually took a milk candy from the bag, and stuffed it into Ah Jie’s hand.

"Here, take it. Your old man is in a good mood today," Shen Yuan said magnanimously with a wave of his hand.

"Thank you, Godfather!"

Ah Jie clutched the candy as if it were a treasure and skipped back to his seat, happy as a fucking idiot.

Once Ah Jie was back in his seat with the candy, Chen Mingyu in the front row swiveled around with a WHOOSH. A brilliant smile on his face, he shouted without hesitation, "Godfather!"

Seeing this, Shen Yuan’s lips curved into an indulgent smile. He unhesitatingly grabbed another milk candy and, with a WHOOSH, tossed it into Chen Mingyu’s hand.

Chen Mingyu caught the candy deftly and yelled excitedly, "Woohoo! Want Want Milk Candy! Eat this candy, forget that guy!"

Hearing this, Li Zhi, who had been about to tear open the wrapper, froze.

Shen Yuan’s sharp eyes caught her hesitation. He immediately pointed an accusatory finger at her, like the husky from the meme.

"Speak! Who is ’that guy’!?"

At his words, Li Zhi’s brow furrowed, and the urge to hit him surged.

The beautiful girl snapped, "Shut up, you fucking idiot!"

But Shen Yuan acted as if he hadn’t heard. His expression grew even more exaggerated as he clutched his chest, putting on a heartbroken look. "So there really is another guy in your heart!" he said mournfully.

"None of your damn business! If you keep talking nonsense, you fucking idiot Shen Yuan...!"

Li Zhi raised her hand to strike.

But just as her hand was about to fall, Shen Yuan suddenly leaned in close. The distance between them shrank until they could feel each other’s breath.

He braced one hand on the edge of Li Zhi’s desk, while the other rested casually on Yao Yao’s desk behind her.

His eyes, usually brimming with playful laughter, now held a rare seriousness, his eyelashes casting faint shadows beneath them.

"So, that ’guy’ in your heart—" Shen Yuan paused, his Adam’s apple bobbing. A cunning smile played on his lips. "Is it me?"

In the front row, He Zhiyu’s textbook suddenly fell to the floor with a THUD. He scrambled to pick it up, his shoulders trembling uncontrollably.

And in the back, Li Zhi’s fingers, clutching the candy wrapper, tightened slightly, the plastic making a faint crinkling sound.

The moment the warm breath from Shen Yuan’s words brushed past the tip of her ear, an uncontrollable blush crept up from the base of Li Zhi’s ears.

But when the beautiful girl met Shen Yuan’s expectant gaze, she abruptly turned her face away and kicked him hard in the shin. "Fucking idiot! In your dreams!"

"Hiss—"

Shen Yuan rubbed his leg. Clearly, Young Master Li hadn’t held back today.

...

Perhaps because the holiday was approaching.

Right before the lunch break began, a rare sight appeared in Class 15: everyone was present.

The only other time Shen Yuan had seen this was during the last monthly exam.

To properly enjoy the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, the matter of homework was, naturally, of the utmost importance!

Before the lunch bell rang, Ah Jie gathered the heroes at the back of the classroom to deliver a speech.

"Fellow students! To welcome the approaching Mid-Autumn Festival holiday and to ensure that everyone can enjoy it to the fullest, I propose that we hereby re-establish the Homework Alliance!"

As soon as he finished, the few people present burst into applause.

"So many people copying homework together... isn’t that just asking for trouble? What if the teachers find out?" Yang Ze frowned and said worriedly.

Hearing Yang Ze’s words, Ah Jie’s mouth curved upward in a disdainful smile.

"Nothing to worry about!" Ah Jie waved his hand dismissively. "We’re in the first round of review right now. The teachers are all busy pushing the review schedule forward. Where would they find the time to look closely at our homework? Even if they find out, they’ll just scold us a bit at most. It won’t be a big deal."

Ah Jie’s words started to sway some of them; they felt he had a point.

Just then, Chen Mingyu nodded in agreement with Ah Jie.

"When we copy the homework, we just have to get a few of the major questions slightly wrong. It’s just skipping one assignment, but in exchange, we get a happy Mid-Autumn Festival holiday. What’s not to like?" Chen Mingyu’s words resonated with more of the students.

"I’m in!" Sun Xiansheng chimed in. "But when you’re assigning me a worksheet later, just don’t give me the Chinese one. My Chinese is terrible."

Hearing Sun Xiansheng’s request, Ah Jie nodded without hesitation, then turned his gaze to Shen Yuan, who had been silent the whole time.

Shen Yuan blinked, his gaze drifting seemingly casually toward Li Zhi’s seat.

He saw the beautiful girl quietly bent over her desk, focused on her work, completely oblivious to his stare.

Seeing this, Shen Yuan let out a small sigh of relief.

He then nodded at Ah Jie and said, "I’ll do the English then. You guys figure out how many you can afford to get wrong based on your skill level."

As soon as he finished speaking, Shen Yuan’s gaze fell on Ah Jie again, a hint of helplessness and warning in his eyes.

"Jie, you better watch yourself."

Ah Jie’s mouth twitched.

He knew perfectly well that his English skills were rather unsatisfactory.

His Eldest Female Cousin’s requirements for his English homework weren’t actually that high. She didn’t expect him to get many questions right; she just wanted him to have a serious attitude.

It was inevitable that he’d come across words he didn’t know in the homework. In those cases, looking them up in a dictionary and making a note on the unknown words wasn’t that hard, was it?

’You know what your English level is. In a situation like this, you do an entire English assignment without needing to flip through a dictionary even once?’

If Ah Jie handed a completely clean worksheet to his Eldest Female Cousin, he could forget about surviving the next few days of English class.

"I know, I know. I’ll add some notes to it."

Shen Yuan let out a dry laugh, clearly not believing a word Ah Jie said.

Ah Jie ignored Shen Yuan’s laugh and continued addressing the group, "Alright, now I’ll assign the homework."

"First! Ah Ze, your task is physics. Ai Muyu, your task is Chinese. Teacher Hou, you’re in charge of chemistry. Jiawei, I’m counting on you for biology!"

The biology class representative, Lou Jiawei, nodded emphatically.

’If the biology teacher ever found out about this, he’d probably have to clean house.’

"As for me," Ah Jie pointed to himself, "I, of course, will complete the math!"

"The fucking math homework hasn’t even been assigned yet!" Yang Ze rolled his eyes.

"Well, you guys can finish first and let me copy! After I’m done, I’ll let you all copy. Anyway, we’ll just make a group chat later and share it. Problem solved."

Ah Jie clapped Yang Ze on the shoulder. "It’s a minor detail."

"Fine."

Seeing no objections from the group, Ah Jie nodded.

"Then I now declare the Homework Alliance officially re-established! This operation’s codename: Happy Mooncake!"

When Shen Yuan returned to his seat shouldering this "heavy responsibility," he saw the beautiful girl flash him a smile.

"Looking to copy some homework, are we?"

The smile on Shen Yuan’s face vanished instantly, and he immediately fired off a three-part denial.

"I’m not, I didn’t, don’t be ridiculous."
