Chapter 119: Chapter 114: Ending Early
At the same time, as the Cloud Platform Yu Changsheng occupied unleashed all its energy, a group of distinguished, immortal-like elders were meditating cross-legged outside Yuntai Valley, at the entrance to the trial. Suddenly, they all opened their eyes. Their expressions shifted dramatically as they began to form hand seals.
"Something’s wrong. What’s happening? Why has a Cloud Platform exhausted its energy and looks to be on the verge of collapse?!"
The one who spoke was their leader, Elder Chen. Dressed in a white robe, with white hair and a youthful complexion, he exclaimed, his face a mask of disbelief.
"How can this be? Each of these Cloud Platforms was forged from the highest quality materials. Let alone a group of Qi Refining Stage disciples, even a Golden Core True Master striking with their full might wouldn’t necessarily be able to damage one!"
Another elder finished speaking and turned his gaze toward the depths of Yuntai Valley, his expression one of complete disbelief.
"Damn it. There must have been an accident," Elder Chen said through gritted teeth. His gaze flickered; he seemed to have a theory but kept it to himself.
’This trial has been strange from the start. There was one region that was completely obscured from our view. At first, I just thought it was a temporary fluctuation in the Array...’
’But now, it seems something else must have been interfering, preventing any of us from sensing the abnormality.’
With that, Elder Chen took a deep breath. Knowing this was no time for hesitation, he issued an order:
"There’s no time to worry about protocol. Elders, hear my order! Immediately use the contestants’ Jade Tubes to recall the disciples. At the same time, activate the teleportation function on all Cloud Platforms and override the existing conditions. This trial is ending ahead of schedule."
The other elders nodded and exchanged glances. They immediately began casting their Magic, and fluctuations from the Array rippled through the surroundings. Illusory teleportation vortexes appeared one by one, steadily solidifying.
This sudden development left the crowd of disciples waiting nearby—those not participating in the trial—staring at one another in confusion as a wave of discussion erupted.
"What’s going on? It’s barely started. Why is it ending early?"
"Usually, the trial lasts for about a week. For it to end so abruptly, did something go wrong?"
"No way... Does that mean they’re in danger?"
"I don’t know..."
...
「Inside Yuntai Valley.」
’Three breaths!’ Yu Changsheng counted down silently.
’I just need to hold on for three more breaths, and the teleportation will activate.’
Reinforced by the Cloud Platform’s desperate, all-out expenditure of power, the light barrier that had been on the verge of collapse immediately solidified once more.
This act, however, seemed to pique the interest of the entity within the mists. As the clouds roiled and parted again, a speck of green light bloomed from within. Bathed in its glow, the mists grew slightly thinner.
WHOOSH...
A fierce wind suddenly gusted from an unknown source. Through the thinning mist, a massive, ghastly green snake head materialized above the Cloud Platform’s light barrier!
The head alone occupied nearly a quarter of the area above the light barrier. The rest of its massive body was concealed within the mists, its full form unclear.
HISS...
Its enormous forked tongue flicked out, rising taller than a man. A disturbingly human-like curiosity filled its ghastly green eyes as it gazed down at Yu Changsheng.
Yu Changsheng froze, his body stiffening in stunned disbelief.
’How is that possible? A Biluo Snake? Wasn’t it already eaten? And how could it have gotten so huge!?’
Yu Changsheng’s mind reeled in absolute terror and disbelief.
The reason was simple: the giant snake before him, in both its aura and appearance, was identical to the Biluo Snake he had seen before!
’No, that’s not right. This can’t be the same Biluo Snake. Size aside, this one lacks the distinct aura of a tamed Spirit Pet!’
Yu Changsheng’s expression turned grim.
More importantly, the oppressive aura emanating from this Biluo Snake was immense, far beyond anything Wang Xin Yu’s could compare to. The two were as different as heaven and earth!
In that brief moment of thought, another breath of time passed. The teleportation fluctuations intensified. Amidst the invisible ripples, Yu Changsheng’s figure began to blur as the power of the teleportation took hold.
The closer he got to escaping, the more on edge Yu Changsheng felt, not daring to relax for an instant. His mind racing, he shouted:
"Colorful Star Deer, reinforce the light barrier with everything you’ve got!"
Upon receiving the command, the Colorful Star Deer suppressed its instinctual fear and urge to submit. Without a moment’s hesitation, it unleashed all of its Demon Power. Its intricately curved antlers instantly erupted in a dazzling, multicolored radiance!
Out of thin air, layer upon layer of trees and vines sprouted, wrapping around the light barrier in dense, impenetrable circles to reinforce it.
It might not do much, but it was better than nothing.
Just then, the giant Biluo Snake’s forked tongue flicked downward. It seemed like a casual, unintentional movement, but it happened to touch the light barrier.
BANG...
With that single touch, the light barrier—reinforced with the Cloud Platform’s full power—was struck by an unimaginable force. Like paper, it shattered without a hint of resistance, breaking apart without any warning!
The instant the light barrier shattered, a shocking crack appeared in the center of the Cloud Platform itself, spreading rapidly towards the edges.
Following that, the barrier of trees created by the Colorful Star Deer’s full power also shattered, just as expected. The air filled with splintered branches that quickly dissipated back into raw energy.
The Colorful Star Deer let out a pained cry, its body staggering. Its head drooped, and a trickle of blood oozed from its mouth. In that instant, its aura weakened, and it stumbled back several steps.
Fortunately, buffered by the light barrier and the wall of trees, the force of the attack had mostly dissipated. Though the large cracks on the Cloud Platform continued to spread, Yu Changsheng remained unharmed.
To Yu Changsheng’s horror, however, the light of the Teleportation Array—which had been on the verge of activating—began to flicker unsteadily, perhaps due to the severe damage the Cloud Platform had taken. The surrounding space warped, and it seemed the entire array was about to collapse at any second!
’You can’t be serious...’
Yu Changsheng cried out in despair, his face turning deathly pale.
But just then, a panel suddenly appeared before his eyes!
[Name]: Profound Yin Illusion Turtle
[Realm]: Unknown
[Comprehension]: 78
[Current Status]: Sealed, Divine Travel
As soon as this information appeared, the giant Biluo Snake paused for some unknown reason. Its tail, already raised to strike, froze in mid-air instead of slamming down.
The teleportation light faltered for only an instant before stabilizing. After one last flicker, a brilliant white light successfully enveloped Yu Changsheng.
Seizing the opportunity, Yu Changsheng couldn’t worry about anything else and hastily recalled his Spirit Pet.
A second later, the final breath of time passed. The Cloud Platform erupted in a brilliant flare. With a flash of white light, Yu Changsheng vanished.
BOOM!!
At almost the exact same instant, the colossal snake tail slammed down. An overwhelming cloud of dust billowed out, obscuring everything. The Cloud Platform was obliterated, leaving nothing but a massive crater in its place.
