Chapter 495 - 495 Invincible: Mark Kneels Before His Enemy, Destroying Sinclair's Bastard, Debbie's Suspicions and Omni-Man is the Killer.

The ReAnimen acted like wild creatures injected with stimulants. Invincible was being brutally attacked and would normally lose, but the feeling of being mocked by others gave him a very classic protagonist power-up.

"Damn!"

Invincible grabbed the arm of the first ReAnimen and slammed it against a wall, causing a small tremor. He then hit the second one in the chest and grabbed him by the neck, slamming it against the ground.

Instead of being scared, Sinclair smiled. "Aren't you being a bit cruel? They were your companions~"

"...!"

Invincible, who had been carried away by his anger, realized that these two ReAnimen were like Doug, innocent guys who had been turned into this by Sinclair.

"It's your fault they're like this!"

"Hehe, that's right~" Sinclair laughed with pleasure and pride, leaving everyone speechless. It was impossible to reason with him, as he had never thought his actions were wrong from the very beginning.

"You're a..."

"Invincible!" Sinclair interrupted him, "You're very strong, so strong that you don't even seem like you belong to this world. You're someone special, you're one of the chosen, but..."

The ReAnimen began to rise again, and despite having parts of their bodies damaged by Invincible, they could still get up.

"But... they aren't special. They only had strong and healthy bodies; they were just like any human. And look at them! Thanks to me, they're able to give you problems! Isn't that amazing?! With a hundred of them, what kind of villains could stop them?"

Invincible took a step back in response to Sinclair's madness, but deep down, he knew he was right. In his current state, he didn't need hundreds of ReAnimen... just a dozen could kill him.

"Invincible, you can't win! Not against the future of humanity! Hahaha!"

– "Kid..." –

"Not now, Walker, I'm busy... and there is not that much age difference, you bastard. Stop calling me kid!"

Mark didn't have time to play with Allen; he was up against a real lunatic. Just imagining the future Sinclair envisioned was terrifying.

– "Oh well, I just wanted to tell you his weakness... but if you don't want to..." –

"Ah! Wait!"

– "No, I'm bored now... I'll go home and spend some quality time with Eve!"

"Son of a..."

– "...?" –

Mark didn't dare insult Allen again. If it came to killing the ReAnimen, he could do it. After all, unlike the original story, there were only two, not three. Plus, his training with Allen had made him stronger than he should be at this point in the story. However, Doug was still alive despite the circumstances, and for these two ReAnimen, so were they. It might be foolish to try and save these guys in that situation, but as a superhero, he couldn't give up on the slightest possibility.

Mark clenched his fists, then loosened them. Feeling a great humiliation, he knelt and placed his head on the ground.

"Please, teach me, Master!"

Sinclair was stunned by the declaration. Not only he but everyone in the chat, including Eve, who was hugging Allen's stomach, was shocked. Only Allen remained silent and then smiled.

– "And I thought you were just a rude kid who liked swimming in dirty water," –

Mark clenched his fists and cursed Allen in twenty different ways.

– "Alright, I'll tell you. Take off their helmets and remove the control device from their brains. With that, they'll stop being a problem and won't die." –

"THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE!!"

How did Allen know about this? Sinclair lost the color in his face and began to retreat.

"Ah!" Invincible got up and charged at one of the ReAnimen, then ripped off its helmet. As Allen had said, there was a cylindrical device embedded in its head, hidden by its helmet. Mark removed the device, and the ReAnimen seemed to lose its rationality and collapsed, stunned.

"No!"

Sinclair knew he had to run. He had to hide, create more ReAnimen, and then return with dozens if not hundreds of them.

...

– "Sinclair, you're a pathetic and disgusting guy..." –

Allen's words stopped Sinclair from fleeing. When Sinclair turned around, there was a holographic screen projected by Timcampy. Allen was sitting on the ground next to Doug's body. The Bully had regained consciousness, but couldn't move. His eyes were fixed on Allen.

"What did you say?!"

Sinclair felt the anger overshadowing his fear. It was natural—his way of life, his beliefs, his ideals, and his goals were being degraded. If anyone else had said it, Sinclair could have ignored it, justifying that they were brainless monkeys who couldn't see beyond their noses. But... there was something different in hearing those words coming from him.

"I...!"

Sinclair was forced to respond. He had to do it. He felt that if he didn't, all his ideals would collapse forever. 'Who is this guy?!'

"I have the key to the future. Just think about how miserable this world is. Every year, there's some threat trying to wipe out the human race, and we only survive because of superheroes. We survive because of that alien. Yes, Omni-Man is an alien!"

Sinclair knew how absurd it was. The Guardians had been killed, an invasion, a meteorite threatening the Earth; all of that in less than a year.

"I will lead humanity into a new era, one where they won't have to worry about threats from other places, where ordinary people can defend themselves and no longer have to run for their lives. All that weakness is just an obstacle to humanity!!"

Allen mocked him, then gave a bored look as he stared into Sinclair's eyes. His eyes reflected something Sinclair couldn't see or imagine with his narrow perspective.

"You're too stupid to realize your own contradiction..."

New novel 𝓬hapters are published on freёwebnoѵel.com.

"What?! You're lying! I'm not wrong?"

"These guys are the future? Sinclair, you take away their freedom of thought, you steal their emotions, their desires, dreams, and memories..."

"All of that is just a nuisance!"

"That's why I said... you were a stupid brat..."

"It's not like that!"

"You take away from them what brought you here— the passion with which you pursue your dreams, the desire that led you to create the ReAnimen. Even though they're an abomination, they're enough to put a young Viltrumite in trouble. You stole all of that from them!"

"...!"

A disdainful smile appeared on Allen's face. "You disgust me. You're someone who says you hate human weakness, someone who says that with your method, humanity will become beautiful, perfect, strong... you consider humans to be imperfect, but at the same time, I don't see a single mechanical part in you... hypocrite."

"No... it's not like that..."

Allen pressed on as Sinclair turned pale, unable to refute these facts. He was taking away from others what he refused to let go of.

"Do you really believe that?..."

"..." Sinclair had lost the strength to argue and looked at Allen without understanding what he was going to say.

Allen extended his hand and touched Doug Cheston's chest...

"Also..."

Doug's body began to twist as metal parts were expelled and replaced with his original limbs. It included the part of his brain he had lost, which was restored.

"Impossible" Sinclair gasped.

Doug opened his eyes and felt something return to him, something they had taken from him. Even if he was an idiot and a bully, no one deserved a fate like that.

"Sinclair... you underestimate humanity too much..."

Sinclair fell to his knees, his gaze incredulous. His vision was crushed, his dream trampled, his mindset destroyed, and his successful experiment was denied in an instant.

"Allen Walker... who are you...?"

"Me?"Allen thought for a moment, reviewing his memories over and over, but then, after letting it swirl in his head, Allen simply came to the same conclusion, "I'm human."

Sinclair stopped fighting and lowered his head, a resigned look on his face. If he had been defeated by a Viltrumite, he would never understand it. If someone else had denied him, he wouldn't have accepted it, but if it was Allen, he couldn't argue.

"I see..."

At some point, Mark was standing by, watching this, unable to intervene. He could defeat villains and lock them up, but this was different. Mark knew there would be no more ReAnimen in the future, and that Sinclair had been destroyed in a way that couldn't be undone.

'Who is that guy?'

Mark had heard that he wasn't from this world, but he didn't imagine what kind of world he came from or what had happened in his life to make him what he was now.

...

A little later, the GDA arrived and took away Sinclair, who didn't put up the slightest resistance. Cecil approached Allen while glancing at Doug, who was being attended to by the medical team, though his condition seemed perfectly healthy.

When looking at the creatures called ReAnimen, Cecil thought it was absurd to believe that a human being could come back from such a fate. Even with their technology, restoring their lives would take a lot of time, and there was still no guarantee they would be returned to functional humans.

"Walker, is what Mark said true?"

Cecil's gaze was serious, while Allen, on the other hand, was relaxed in Eve's lap.

"Is there a problem, director?" Eve frowned, not liking Cecil's tone as if he was accusing Allen of something.

Cecil wanted to reply to Eve, telling her that he was technically her boss and deserved some respect, but seeing Eve's look and Allen's smug, satisfied smile, he realized it would be useless. Eve wouldn't choose Cecil over Allen. This had been a concern for Cecil and the GDA in general. Neither Dupli-Kate, Monster Girl, nor Atom Eve would choose the GDA over Allen Walker.

This left half of the Guardians unreliable in any situation, something Cecil never wanted. But he had underestimated Allen, and so had everyone. They never thought about how dangerous he was to the female members of the Guardians. Cecil clenched his teeth. A womanizer like him would be hated by women, that's why Cecil was confident. Maybe in the end, Allen would end up with one of them, but what a surprise when they realized how absurd that thought was. By the time they figured it out, it was too late.

"Walker, I know you have many skills, and I know you won't even tell me how the hell you restored that boy... so forget it." Cecil took out a check, wrote an amount, and handed it to Allen with frustration, "Is it really necessary to do this?! Can't you just accept a transfer?!"

Lately, Allen had requested that all his payments be in checks given to him personally by Cecil.

The check flew from Cecil's hand to Eve's with telekinesis. She was surprised and then looked at the amount, her mouth opening in disbelief.

"How is this possible?!" Eve resented Cecil for being so stingy. She also had a salary for being part of the Guardians, but her one-year salary wasn't even close to this amount on the check.

"Don't look at me like that. The Guardians earn like high-ranking government officials. Allen's just special... a special bastard..."

"Thanks for the compliment, baldy"

Cecil glared at Allen with disdain. This guy had given great results every time for just a little of the GDA's budget. He didn't mind paying him large amounts of money that would otherwise be destined for new technologies that wouldn't do half of what Allen did. Of course, this great advantage came with its disadvantages. Allen gave Cecil more than one headache and stomachache.

Eve remained silent, knowing that Allen could fight all of them without getting hurt. Considering what she knew about him, she even found it strange that Allen accepted jobs from Cecil.

Allen grabbed Eve's hand and smiled like a sly con artist, "If you're so worried, I can give you my salary..."

"What are you saying?!" Of course, Eve would immediately reject it, but Allen's next words short-circuited her brain.

"You don't have to worry, what's mine is yours, and what's yours is mine. Isn't that the basic concept of a couple?"

Eve turned red, wanting to argue that that was only for married couples, but she knew that if she denied it, she would fall into Allen's game, so she couldn't respond.

*Cough*

Cecil was sweating. This guy had started flirting, forgetting about his existence.

"Cecil, you should see a doctor. It's not normal for you to cough so much. Maybe that's why you went bald so quickly."

"Walker!" Cecil turned red with anger. For no reason, he was being attacked by this shameless son of a bitch.

Allen cleaned his ear with his finger while sensing the unsatisfied jealousy, "Yeah, yeah, I heard you. That's the name of my family, good for you to remember, and it will be Eve's too in the future. So show some manners, Cecil!"

Eve covered her face, how could Allen say such embarrassing things?

"Damn it, I lose years of my life talking to you..."

"Also hair, apparently. Haha."

Cecil turned around and left, leaving Eve holding in her laughter and Allen watching him go.

Gwen – Hahaha, setting aside how much you enjoy teasing Cecil, is there any reason to be so hostile?

MJ – Yeah, it seems like you deliberately annoyed him so he'd leave without finishing his sentence...

Raven – It must have something to do with the ReAnimen...

"That's right, he was going to ask me to convince Sinclair to make more ReAnimen, but instead of using human victims, with the bodies of fallen soldiers..."

Allen knew that Cecil was desperate to gather everything he could to face Omni-Man before he truly revealed himself.

However, Allen didn't need to do that...

'Now that I think about it, Sinclair was the last major event before the Omni-Man incident...'

[Allen, what are you going to do?]

'I gave Nolan time to change the outcome. After all, the butterfly effect I caused might make Omni-Man regret his actions and not end up as he did in the original story...'

Before Omni-Man turned against the world Sinclair had just enough time to make three ReAnimen with the GDA's help, so maybe a couple of weeks were left before Omni-Man made his move.

Allen smiled slightly as he looked at the sky while Eve combed his hair with her fingers. 'What will you do, Nolan? Will you force me to kill you?'

...

Debbie grabbed her head. Beside her, there was a bottle of alcohol. She had suffered greatly upon learning that her husband might be the killer of her friends.

Debbie looked at the wedding photo on the wall. Twenty years had passed, twenty years believing that the man she loved was a hero with a good heart, a savior, a protector... the greatest superhero... her superhero.

Debbie thought for a moment. She couldn't rely solely on assumptions; she had to investigate on her own.

In the following days, she began searching discreetly for Omni-Man's suit. She remembered that Nolan had been desperate to recover it.

'He even fought with the receptionist... I had never seen Nolan so upset...'

She searched but couldn't find it. She felt scared of having to hide from her husband while searching for the suit. It wasn't until she looked through a vent, without luck, that she saw it. It was on a high ledge of the wall inside the living room.

Debbie lowered the bag with trembling hands, and when she opened it, she saw the superhero suit stained with blood.

"Oh my god Nolan, I just hope you're not going to be the killer...."
