The moment she spoke, the jade bead in her hand glowed with a faint golden Spiritual Light. Then, Qin Muqing’s breathtakingly beautiful face underwent a dramatic transformation.
The waiter stood outside the door holding a tray of food. After a short wait, the door opened to reveal a woman with a plain, unremarkable face.
The waiter glanced at the woman before him, then looked away. He stepped into the room, set the food on the table, and told her to call if she needed anything before leaving.
GRUMBLE...
Qin Muqing looked at the three dishes and a soup on the table as her stomach rumbled loudly.
She hadn’t eaten a single bite since noon.
Now that she was alone in the room, there was no need to hold back. She picked up her bowl and chopsticks and, casting aside all decorum, began to wolf down the fragrant meal.

In the room next door, Lin Li returned to his own room after leaving Qin Muqing’s.
After locking the door, a thought surfaced in his mind, and he vanished from the spot.

In the dim living room, a Spiritual Artifact sat atop a floor-standing air conditioner in the corner, continuously emitting a cool breeze that kept the room at a comfortable temperature.

Lin Li, having just returned home to Blue Star from Dongwu City in the Spirit Realm, heard the doorbell and quickly walked over to answer it.

He opened the door to find Xia Qing standing on his doorstep. She wore a white dress, her hair was tied up in a bun, and a gentle smile graced her face. In her hands, she held a steaming pot of beef and potato stew.
"Lin Li, thanks for the beef! I used it to make some beef and potato stew.
Take it and give it a try. Let me know what you think, and if it’s any good."
As Xia Qing spoke, the enticing aroma of the stew wafted over, whetting his appetite.
"You want feedback? I can tell it’s delicious just from the smell," Lin Li said with a laugh, accepting the pot of stew from her.
They chatted for a moment. Lin Li offered to empty the pot and return it right away, but Xia Qing told him not to worry about it and to just bring it back whenever he was done.
After closing the door, Lin Li carried the steaming, freshly-made beef and potato stew to the dining room and set it on the table.
He grabbed a bowl and chopsticks from the kitchen and took a bite of Xia Qing’s stew.
The Yellow Ox Exotic Beast Meat, stewed with potatoes, was rich and incredibly delicious. Lin Li had tried making beef and potato stew himself before, but his version was nowhere near as good as Xia Qing’s.
Lin Li thought for a moment. ’Didn’t Su Yue say she was going to teach me how to cook? I can suggest that our first lesson be this beef and potato stew. I happen to have plenty of Yellow Ox Exotic Beast Meat left in the fridge, so there are enough ingredients to practice with.’
Lin Li then cooked himself a large bowl of noodles, which he ate with the fragrant stew for a hearty meal.
After dinner, he put the leftover stew in the refrigerator.
After washing the dishes, he grabbed an ice cream from the freezer and sat down on the living room sofa.
He turned on the TV and started watching the daily news while eating his ice cream. His mind, however, was already on his plans to buy property in Dongwu City tomorrow.
’Right now, I only have 267 Silver Coins and 104 copper coins. In Dongwu City, that’s probably not enough to buy a decent property. Looks like I’ll have to use my Spirit Stones.
But I only have 66 Spirit Stones. One Spirit Stone can be exchanged for 5 Gold Coins or 50 Silver Coins. Doing the math, 66 Spirit Stones can only be exchanged for 3,300 Silver Coins, which isn’t a lot.
It would be embarrassing if I find a house I like but don’t have enough money.

"Boss, we’re back." The bald underling and his companion pushed open the door to a renovated hut and stepped inside.
The room was pleasantly cool, thanks to a Refrigeration Spiritual Artifact whirring away in the corner.
The bearded man who had orchestrated the scam earlier was sitting shirtless at a table with his other underlings, drinking and eating meat.
