“Interns?”

When Tang Qiu heard President Chen’s decision, she quickly spoke up.

“President Chen, I don’t think that’s a good idea. My reputation isn’t exactly stellar to begin with. If we only bring in interns, the firm might struggle to get any business in the early stages.”

“Why are you so fixated on early-stage business? Do you know what the most important thing for a company is?”

Chen Mo looked at Tang Qiu with a mysterious expression.

“Talent?” Tang Qiu blurted out instinctively.

“No. Talent is important, of course, but what’s even more crucial is the foundation.”

“It’s like constructing a skyscraper. Only with a solid foundation can the building stand tall and firm.”

“A company is the same. It needs a strong foundation. And what is that foundation? It’s those interns. They haven’t been shaped by the harsh realities of society yet, and they lack work experience, but they have one major advantage—malleability.”

“I can mold them into whatever I want. But seasoned lawyers are different. They’ve already been shaped by society. Their habits and ways of thinking are set, and it’s very hard to change them.”

“Also, employees you train yourself tend to have a stronger sense of belonging to the company. Those who parachute in from elsewhere rarely feel the same way.”

“After weighing all the factors, hiring interns is actually better than bringing in experienced lawyers.”

This…

Tang Qiu fell silent. To her surprise, President Chen’s reasoning actually made a lot of sense.

“Alright, President Chen. I’ll do my best to make it happen.”

She nodded. Since President Chen had already laid it out so clearly, there was really nothing left to argue. All she could do was follow through.

“By the way, President Chen, what’s the name of the law firm?”

To officially establish a law firm, she’d need to go through the proper procedures, and that required a name.

A name, huh?

Chen Mo thought for a moment. Then, a flash of inspiration crossed his face, and he smiled.

“Let’s call it Baishu Law Firm. ‘Bai’ as in one hundred, and ‘Shu’ as in books.”

“Baishu Law Firm,” Tang Qiu repeated softly.

Baishu.

It had a scholarly ring to it. As a name for a law firm, it was actually quite fitting.

“Got it, President Chen. I’ll get to work on setting up the firm as soon as possible.”

With the name confirmed, Tang Qiu left the office.

Watching her go, Chen Mo leaned back comfortably in his chair. He had solved the problem of Tang Qiu constantly coming to bother him, and at the same time, set up a business that was almost guaranteed to lose money.

This, without a doubt, increased his chances of successfully completing the settlement.

Thinking of this, a faint smile curved Chen Mo’s lips. So far, everything was going smoothly.

There were only two days left until the Dragon Boat Festival, a three-day national holiday.

He planned to go home for a bit, then make a trip to Beijing. The film crew had already been shooting for nearly three months. Luo Xiao had called yesterday to say they expected to wrap up by the end of June.

Chen Mo figured he’d stop by to check in, organize a team-building event for the crew, and conveniently use up some of the System Funds.

Meanwhile, Nanhe Coffee had already opened ten stores in Beijing, with another five currently under renovation.

He could take the opportunity to inspect how things were going with Nanhe Coffee in Beijing as well.

After confirming his upcoming schedule, Chen Mo glanced over at the pile of gifts Wang Yang had sent. He thought for a moment. He didn’t need them, but someone else might.

He could just bring them home when he visited. Even if his parents didn’t use them, they’d make impressive gifts to give away.

Beijing,

Film City.

“Cut! That’s a wrap.”

Luo Xiao looked at the footage on the monitor and nodded with satisfaction.

“Brother Xiao, how was it?”

Wang Bin jogged over and glanced at the playback.

“Perfect. You’ve improved a lot, kid,” Luo Xiao said, patting Wang Bin on the shoulder with a sigh.

They had been filming for nearly three months now. In the beginning, everyone was new and there were constant problems.

But after that rough start, things had gone much more smoothly.

Now, they rarely needed multiple takes for a single shot.

Wang Bin had shown the most progress of all. Even compared to students from professional acting schools, he was a step ahead.

Sometimes, talent really couldn’t be made up for with hard work alone.

“Brother Xiao, I feel like there’s still something off with my eyes in that scene. Based on the storyline, I should be extremely angry, but my gaze doesn’t quite convey that level of fury.”

Wang Bin rubbed his chin and watched the playback closely a couple more times.

“Your eyes?” Luo Xiao rewound to the part Wang Bin mentioned and studied it carefully. Overall, there wasn’t much wrong.

The anger was conveyed well enough, and most viewers wouldn’t notice such a subtle detail.

But if they were aiming for perfection, then yes, the intensity in his eyes could use a bit more punch.

“This shot won’t affect the final cut. Are you sure you want to reshoot it?”

Luo Xiao turned to look at Wang Bin.

Wang Bin nodded. “Even if the audience doesn’t notice, I want it to be perfect.”

“Then let’s reshoot it.”

Luo Xiao nodded as well, then turned to the crew.

“Everyone get ready. We’re reshooting the last take.”

The crew immediately sprang into action.

Wang Bin adjusted his state of mind and quickly returned to the set.

The reshoot began.

In the distance,

Su Tang and Jiang Xue sat side by side, their eyes fixed on the filming site in the distance.

“Wang Bin is really working hard,” Jiang Xue said with a sigh of admiration.

Su Tang nodded in agreement.

“That’s probably why he’s improving so quickly.”

They had been on set for nearly three months now. Wang Bin had gone from frequently making mistakes in the beginning to now being able to pinpoint flaws in his own performances. His progress had been remarkably fast.

Even they, who had gone through formal training at acting schools, couldn’t quite keep up.

“That’s why we have to work hard too. If someone who started out as an extra ends up surpassing us in acting, wouldn’t that be embarrassing?”

“Yeah, we’ve got to keep pushing ourselves.”

The two nodded in unison.

Just last month, they had signed contracts with Blue Film Studio and were now officially actors under the company. Wang Bin was also signed with Blue Film Studio.

Since they were all actors under the same company, they had even more reason to push themselves. At the very least, they couldn’t afford to fall behind Wang Bin in terms of acting skills.

Time passed.

Director Luo’s voice rang out again, calling, “Cut!”

Wang Bin immediately ran over to check the footage. This time, it seemed there were no issues, and they didn’t need to reshoot the scene.

“Alright, that’s a wrap for today. Everyone pack up and get some rest,” Luo Xiao shouted through a megaphone.

“Brother Xiao, tomorrow’s the Dragon Boat Festival. Are we getting a day off?” Wang Bin asked, looking over at the crew who had already started putting away the equipment.

“Nope, no break,” Luo Xiao replied without hesitation. “Once filming’s done, they’ll have plenty of time to rest.”

Filming was already in its final stages. Luo Xiao needed to wrap everything up by the end of June.

After filming, they still had to go through post-production editing.

Editing was a crucial part of the process, especially since many of the monsters in the film would be brought to life through special effects during editing.

The editing and final cut process would take about a month.

Once the final version was ready, it would still need to pass review before it could be released in theaters.

All of these steps took time.

If everything went smoothly, the film was expected to hit theaters around mid-August.
