Chapter 823: Chapter 565: Montell Star, Uninvited Guest (Part 2)
"Understood, General Nangong, rest assured, we will not act without permission," Yun Heli was the first to express his stance.
The other Pill Masters nodded in agreement, "Don’t worry, General Nangong, we understand."
Having experienced the dire straits of subspace, a close brush with death, they cherished their lives more than before.
Forty days, neither too long nor too short, they could pass the time by refining pills and chatting at the base.
Moreover, they never had such an opportunity to interact closely with Elder Yun, who was now by their side, generously offering guidance. Who would spare time to risk unnecessary danger on the planet?
Seeing everyone was cooperative without any dissent, General Nangong’s smile became more genuine, "Thank you all for your understanding and cooperation. I won’t disturb your rest anymore. You’ve had a long journey, so please take a good rest. If you have any needs before reaching Montel Planet—be it food, accommodation, or anything else—feel free to contact me, and I will do my utmost to meet them."
After saying this, he bowed slightly again, "On behalf of the Celestial Fleet, I welcome you all and wish you a safe journey."
With these words, General Nangong exchanged a few more pleasantries before quietly exiting with the officers, leaving the reception space to Yun Heli, Qin Tian, and others.
After General Nangong left, everyone quickly accessed the Star Net to inquire about Montel Planet.
Montel Planet was recently discovered by an exploration team and is rich in mineral resources, especially the staggering reserves of mithril and aetherite.
To fully develop this planet, the Empire dispatched an entire fleet, which was the Celestial Fleet, to Montel Planet.
However, perhaps due to confidentiality, there wasn’t much information about Montel Planet on the Star Net. One would have to wait two days to experience it firsthand.
Two days later, the fleet arrived in the orbit of Montel Planet.
The first sight was a silver-gray fleet of warships orbiting the planet.
They were like loyal iron guardians, arrayed in a ring formation, with the Empire’s emblem prominently engraved on them. The main cannons were slightly lowered but always ready for a bombardment.
Everyone crowded near the porthole, eyes looking downwards as Montel Planet became clearer.
The planet was far larger than anticipated, with vast land covering over 80% of its surface and minimal traces of oceans. Large swathes of deep green forests were embedded in the land like emeralds, looking vibrant and full of life.
As the command ship descended, the outline of Base One became visible.
The military base was square, encased in a light blue energy shield, isolating it from the outside, protecting it from external attacks, and preventing unknown forest dangers from intruding.
Around the base stood hundreds of towering energy sentry towers, entirely black, each several dozen meters tall, topped with spherical energy detectors. Every few seconds, a pale purple pulse beam was emitted, quickly scanning every inch around the base, leaving nowhere for even hidden insects to flee.
The airship landed, the hatch opened.
As they disembarked, they saw rows of soldiers by the hatch.
The leader had graying hair but a resolute demeanor, his short hair neat and tidy, and his uniform exceptionally sharp on him.
"Elder Yun, everyone, allow me to introduce, this is the commander of our Celestial Fleet, Commander Luo Yu," General Nangong began the introductions.
"Commander Luo, hello," Elder Yun smiled slightly.
"Elder Yun, and everyone,"
Commander Luo stepped forward with a hearty laugh, "Welcome to Montel Planet."
Unlike the polite formality of General Nangong, Luo Yu was straightforward and full of energy; he easily drew people in. Judging from the respectful gazes around, Luo Yu was clearly a well-respected commander.
Commander Luo led the way, with Qin Tian following slightly behind Elder Yun.
"Truly a resource-rich planet~"
Qin Tian mused inwardly. He had a talent called [Metal Sensing], allowing him to sense all metals within a certain range.
The base itself had vast amounts of metal piled in warehouses, and extending his senses, he could feel numerous underground mineral veins. The higher the quality of the metal, the greater the stimulus to his senses.
Additionally, he sensed that the spatial elements on this planet were particularly active, at least several times higher than on other planets.
This brought to mind the abundant veins of aetherite on this planet.
Aetherite is a precious space element material used widely in space equipment and the construction of space bases. It is especially advantageous for constructing stargates.
The dense distribution of aetherite veins also made the spatial density of this planet much higher than others.
For Qin Tian, this was quite a beneficial circumstance.
In a place with high spatial density, his movements were more flexible. With such a vast planet, he could clandestinely acquire some metal veins for himself, even at the Empire’s expense.
Besides [Metal Sensing], he also possessed a talent called [Gold Devouring Transformation]
which allowed him to refine metal essence and integrate it into his body to enhance his physical strength.
With the awakening of the [Immortal Sacred Body], it was hard to find metals that could strengthen his body further, but this talent was still excellent for mining purposes.
Commander Luo led everyone through the various sections of the base.
For the troops tasked with "pioneering," it had been a long time since they saw newcomers. Not only were guests visiting the base, but they were of such distinguished status that Commander Luo went to great lengths to introduce the base.
At the edge of the base, Commander Luo abruptly stopped and solemnly said:
"Everyone, General Nangong should have warned you, but for everyone’s safety, I want to emphasize once more: Do not leave the base during this period, and avoid going near the base’s edges."
"Montel Planet has a terrifying creature known as Blood Gu Beasts. They excel at spiritual attacks, subtly influencing one’s perception, causing them to unwittingly fall into traps they set. Previously, several soldiers on the sentry towers were lured away by the Blood Gu Beasts and have since disappeared without a trace."
Upon hearing this, everyone’s hearts chilled, reinforcing their resolve to stay indoors.
After the tour, Commander Luo hosted a welcome banquet for the guests
A range of local specialty dishes was served, and the wine flowed freely
With Elder Yun’s permission, the Pill Masters loosened up completely, drinking heartily and mingling with the fleet’s senior officers.
This was a scenario both sides were happy to see.
As a Royal Major General, Qin Tian was inevitably targeted by the crowd; the Celestial Fleet’s officers were eager to see just how formidable General Qin, who ventured into subspace to save others, truly was.
Facing the toasts from all sides, Qin Tian accepted them all, his seemingly endless capacity for alcohol impressing these hearty soldiers, who called out "General Qin" more sincerely.
After eating and drinking to their fill, everyone returned to their rooms.
Qin Tian did not rest; instead, he began his routine spiritual energy cultivation.
Upon learning that Elder Yun gifted him the Source Blood Pill, other Pill Masters followed suit, giving him precious elixirs as tokens of gratitude. The lowest grade among them was a sixth-grade elixir, with many varieties and quantities, lest they fall behind others.
Among them, some elixirs were meant to assist in spiritual cultivation by increasing absorption and conversion efficiency.
Lately, Qin Tian had been using these elixirs for cultivation, achieving daily progress equivalent to what previously took dozens of days, akin to riding a rocket. He couldn’t help but muse that having a group of Pill Masters as friends was truly delightful!
Just as his cultivation was nearing completion, a barely perceptible fluctuation in his surroundings made him open his eyes, a strange glint in his gaze.
In this heavily guarded base, an uninvited guest had snuck in~
