Chapter 448: Chapter 431: Taboo
It was hard to say if it was caused by a Magical Treasure, but if there was one, it was definitely a terrifying Magical Artifact.
Wang Meng wasn’t interested in Magical Artifacts. Since he himself was heaven-defying, he was naturally interested in similarly defiant attributes.
He spread out his Divine Sense. If it were caused by a Magical Artifact, the phenomenon would actually be less impressive. But if it wasn’t a Magical Artifact, then that would be something Wang Meng would truly love.
A treasure would definitely not be able to hide from his Divine Sense. His Divine Sense quickly swept over the area, which was less than a hundred meters in radius. It was unlikely to be caused by a treasure, as his Divine Sense didn’t detect any source. He found it hard to believe that a Magical Artifact capable of eluding his Divine Sense even existed in a Small Thousand World.
’If it’s not a Magical Artifact, and Little Cheng said it only appeared recently... could it be a spatial anomaly—a phenomenon of the laws—caused by the Godhood?’
The heaven-defying Godhood had broken the laws. This wasn’t an issue isolated to a single Godhood; it would likely trigger a chain reaction.
If that was the case, then this place would be of the utmost use to him.
Wang Meng released his Elemental Power, letting his body drift in this world of Qiankun Reversal. It was fascinating. His Life Wheel was a ship, his Divine Sense a compass, and this place was the "sea." Though the sea was small, to Wang Meng, it was undeniably a Golden Sea.
It had long been a headache for him. ’Can the Life Wheel only copy and imitate?’
’This ability is certainly powerful, but no matter how well it copies or imitates, it’s ultimately second-rate. It works fine against ordinary opponents, but against people like Mingren and Lin Jinghao, no matter how amazing the Life Wheel is, it probably can’t compare to their true abilities.’
And relying on his Sword Technique alone was clearly not enough.
’So, where did his *own* true power lie?’
Wang Meng had been pondering a problem recently. The Life Wheel could create a Holy Statue; it wasn’t just simple imitation. However, the process was quite complex. It was naturally easier with a template, but creating one from scratch was difficult—the more powerful the creation, the harder it was—unless he had a reference to work from.
Now, he had finally found his reference. It didn’t take long for Wang Meng to confirm that this region of chaotic principles was caused by the Godhood shattering the laws.
This contrast between order and chaos was undoubtedly the best possible explanation of the Power of Laws.
One could say that the other side of the supposedly lofty and untouchable Power of Laws was now laid bare right before Wang Meng’s eyes.
Wang Meng was utterly captivated.
Seeing Wang Meng suspended in the center of the Qiankun Reversal, his body slowly rotating, Cheng Cheng quietly backed away, her eyes filled with an indescribable tenderness.
When Xie Tianhua saw Cheng Cheng emerge, he gave a wry smile. "My dear Little Princess, you really know how to make trouble for me. It’s one thing for Martial Uncle Wang to want to go in, but Master once said this Land of Reversed Heaven and Earth goes against the Celestial Dao, and, well..."
Cheng Cheng glanced at Xie Tianhua coolly. "Junior Brother Xie!"
Xie Tianhua broke into a sweat. The Little Princess was clearly annoyed he had spoken out of turn. She wasn’t very old, but her gaze seemed to see right through everything. Xie Tianhua shut his mouth.
"Go get Zou Chuang. I need him for something," Cheng Cheng said with a wave of her hand.
"Yes, I’ll go right away."
Xie Tianhua couldn’t wait to leave. Being around the Little Princess was just too nerve-wracking; you never knew what she was thinking, and she might decide to pull a prank on you at any moment. He was a grown man, after all, and a prominent figure in the Taiyin Sect. No one is a born masochist.
Zou Chuang was deep in meditative contemplation when Xie Tianhua came for him. And though Zou Chuang had a cold demeanor, he didn’t get angry over this kind of interruption.
When he heard it was Cheng Cheng calling for him, Zou Chuang couldn’t help but frown. Even the Tiger Crown Prince found her to be a headache. The girl had been spoiled rotten by the three elders, and to top it off, she was devilishly clever. No one could do anything about her.
"What is it? If it’s nothing important, I won’t go," Zou Chuang said, hesitating.
"Brother Zou, please, spare me! I’ll be in for it if you don’t go. Saving a life is a greater deed than building a seven-story pagoda, you know!"
Xie Tianhua said with a wry smile.
Zou Chuang shook his head helplessly. He had no choice but to close the door to his Quiet Chamber and follow Xie Tianhua toward the back of the mountain.
To his surprise, Cheng Cheng was waiting for him there.
"Junior Sister, what is it?" Zou Chuang forced a smile, which Xie Tianhua found amusing to watch. It was a classic case of rock-paper-scissors; the cold and ruthless Crown Prince Zou was utterly powerless against Cheng Cheng.
Zou Chuang used to have a very difficult life. He was unsuccessful and constantly bullied, living an existence even more miserable than Wang Meng’s early days. One day, while washing his battered and bruised body in a stream, he made a vow: if someone could change his life, he would be willing to give them everything.
Perhaps his prayers were answered, because Yuu Kunlun appeared.
From that moment on, he was the Master’s Disciple. Five years later, he successfully formed his Holy Statue, becoming a top expert of the Star Alliance’s younger generation and an idol admired by thousands.
In Zou Chuang’s heart, nothing was more important than Yuu Kunlun and the Taiyin Sect.
Yuu Kunlun doted on Cheng Cheng, holding her in the palm of his hand. Therefore, Zou Chuang wouldn’t mind it even if Cheng Cheng were to hit or scold him.
Essentially, Zou Chuang, who seemed fated to be alone, regarded Yuu Kunlun as his family. Now, he considered Cheng Cheng family as well.
Otherwise, he was by no means an agreeable person.
"Follow me!"
Cheng Cheng only said two words, and the Tiger Crown Prince, famous throughout the underworld and especially in assassination circles, could do nothing but follow her like a little attendant.
"You come too!"
Xie Tianhua froze for a second, then followed with a wry smile. ’What is Her Highness planning?’ he wondered.
He was, however, quite curious about this Land of Reversed Heaven and Earth, even though everyone said it was an ominous place.
Cheng Cheng led the two of them to the edge of the Land of Reversed Heaven and Earth.
"Brother Zou, Brother Xie, please watch what is happening here very carefully!"
Looking at Cheng Cheng’s completely serious expression, neither Zou Chuang nor Xie Tianhua dared to be careless. They had known her for a while, but this was the first time they had ever seen her speak to them with such gravity.
Their gazes fell upon Wang Meng. He appeared to be meditating within the Land of Reversing Heaven and Earth. Zou Chuang knew, however, that this place was unsuitable for meditation. The laws were chaotic, and it was frighteningly easy to suffer a cultivation deviation and become a Demon.
’What is Cheng Cheng doing...’
Meanwhile, Cheng Cheng’s eyes were also fixed on Wang Meng, shining with a brilliant light.
Everyone had greatly underestimated Cheng Cheng. When it came to Wang Meng, she was one of the few who truly understood him—not his past experiences, but the very essence of who he was.
As a young girl with a Demon Spirit Body, she felt a very strong, indescribable connection to Wang Meng. Her intuition told her that she had to bring him to this place.
It would benefit Wang Meng, and it would benefit the Taiyin Sect. If Wang Meng had simply treated this place as a playground, that would have been that. But her intuition had clearly been correct. She had summoned Zou Chuang and Xie Tianhua for two reasons. First, to prevent any accidents—the last thing she wanted was for something to happen to Wang Meng. Second, to let Zou Chuang and Xie Tianhua also bask in the reflected glory.
The resonance from a master’s moment of epiphany was a rare opportunity indeed.
Cheng Cheng had truly grown into the Little Witch, a clever and mischievous spirit.
The rotation of Wang Meng’s body followed the same trajectory as his Life Wheel. The Celestial Dao and the Heaven-Defying Dao stood in sharp contrast, creating a tiny crack in the otherwise impenetrable Power of Laws.
How much one could comprehend at such a time, and how that comprehension would manifest, all depended on one’s innate talent for enlightenment.
Without the discerning power of Divine Sense, it was useless, no matter how high one’s Cultivation.
If gods were simply beings with a bit more strength and longer lifespans, Wang Meng would look down on them. The reason the Celestial Dao was so formidable came down to three fundamental laws.
