Chapter 190: Chapter 190: Happy for Nothing

’This guy seems to like smiling a lot, but his smile is strange. There’s no trace of joy in it.’

’In short, it’s completely fake.’

Claire Sinclair responded politely, "Hello."

Quentin Zane clapped Adrian Quincy on the shoulder and grinned. "So, our Eldest Young Master Quincy, the guy who never gets close to women, is finally off the market. Sister-in-law, you’re amazing, managing to snag a man like him. How about introducing me to someone? I happen to be single."

Claire Sinclair raised an eyebrow. "The only single girl I know back home is Phoebe Lockwood. You want to meet her? I can get her number for you."

Upon hearing that name, Quentin Zane immediately burst out laughing. "HAHA... Never mind. The Eldest Miss Lockwood wouldn’t look twice at a pauper like me."

"Well, I can’t help you then. You’ll have to ask someone else to introduce you."

The moment she finished speaking, Quentin Zane let out another snort of laughter. "HAHAHA... Young Master Quincy, this girl of yours is really interesting. I was just joking with her, and she actually took me seriously."

Claire Sinclair: "..."

’He’s messing with me!’

Without a word, Adrian Quincy sent Quentin Zane flying with a kick. "A ten-kilometer run. Don’t even think about eating until you’re done."

Quentin Zane: "..."

’Great, another bro who puts his girl before his friends.’

Watching Quentin Zane run further and further into the distance, Claire Sinclair couldn’t help but ask, "What does he do? His clothes are different from everyone else’s."

"You’ll find out later."

"Why can’t you tell me now?"

Adrian Quincy slowly turned his head to look at the girl’s eyes, which were filled with curiosity. "He once pursued your sister. He just got back from a mission today and couldn’t wait to come see you."

"Oh, I see. So he pursued my sister..." ’My sister really is outstanding. She must have had a lot of suitors.’ "But I’m not my sister. Why did he come to see me?"

"Perhaps it’s a matter of sentimentality."

"..."

’Hearing the word ’sentimentality’ come out of this guy’s mouth sounds strangely awkward.’

Claire Sinclair was about to say something else when Adrian Quincy suddenly spoke. "Let’s go."

"Where are we going?"

"I’m taking you home."

"Huh? But I haven’t passed the assessment yet!"

"We’re just leaving for one night. I’ll bring you back tomorrow morning."

Claire Sinclair was suddenly at a loss for words. She thought she could finally escape The Bitter Sea, but it turned out to be a moment of false hope.

"Mr. Quincy, why are you taking me home?"

"We’re going to my family’s home. To meet my parents."

"!!!"

’Can I just stay here and continue training?!’

Meeting the parents was such a serious affair that Claire Sinclair insisted on going home to take a shower and change. She put on a demure little white dress and styled her hair into a topknot.

But...

’After three days of training, my skin has gotten so much darker. A white dress doesn’t seem quite right anymore. Maybe I should change?’

Just as she was hesitating, Adrian Quincy suddenly walked in from outside. "Claire, not ready yet?"

"I’ve gotten a tan, so white doesn’t look good. I want to change into a different color."

Adrian Quincy quickly scanned her clothes in the closet and finally picked out a small, silver-gray cocktail dress.

"Try this one."

"Do I have to be this formal?"

"Your only job is to look beautiful. Don’t worry about anything else."

"..." ’He’s flirting with me!’

Claire Sinclair’s face grew hot. She quickly took the dress and went into the bathroom to change.

This dress was on the conservative side—it didn’t expose her shoulders or back, and the hemline reached her knees. It could actually be worn as everyday attire.

Claire Sinclair quickly slipped the dress on but ran into a problem—she couldn’t pull up the zipper on the back.
