Chapter 171: Chapter 171: Cover Blown
"Yes, sir!" the man replied, then turned to his task.
Someone quickly ran in. "Young Master Quincy, we have a call from The Presidential Palace. They’re requesting backup."
Adrian Quincy said in a low voice, "Mamba, take two men to The Presidential Palace."
The man called Mamba gave a nod. He quickly packed up a laptop and left with two companions.
Just then, one of the computer screens went black!
Caleb Baker, the one in charge of that computer, looked horrified. "My computer’s down! I need backup!"
Everyone froze, then crowded around the dead computer.
Adrian Quincy’s eyes quickly scanned the message that had appeared on the black screen—
The Fragrant Bean Cafe. Something’s wrong.
"What does that mean?" Aiden Howkins asked, puzzled. No one had an answer.
A second later, a new screen appeared. It was a profile...
Name: Milo Miles
Age: 26
Occupation: International Hacker
Criminal Rating: S
IP: ***.***.***.***
When the IP address appeared, Caleb Baker, the operator of the compromised computer, exclaimed, "That IP is in the East District... It looks like The Fragrant Bean Cafe. Yes, that’s it! I used their Wi-Fi not long ago. I remember the address."
Aiden Howkins asked, "What is this hacker trying to tell us?"
As soon as he finished speaking, something new appeared on the screen.
A photograph...
The photo showed a pale-skinned young man with a freckled face and a malicious glint in his eyes.
Aiden Howkins gasped. "The international hacker, God K!"
Below the photo was an IP address—The Fragrant Bean Cafe again.
While everyone was still confused, the screen suddenly returned to normal. But less than three seconds later, it went black again for a moment before displaying a security camera feed—
Several thugs stormed into The Fragrant Bean Cafe. One of them raised a gun and, with a few quick shots—BANG! BANG! BANG!—destroyed all the security cameras. The screen went black again.
After a few seconds of silence, a sentence appeared on the screen: Justice prevails. No one can stain our land with blood.
Adrian Quincy made a snap decision. "Aiden, take a few men to The Fragrant Bean Cafe and check it out. Don’t tip them off. Get a read on the situation before you make a move."
"Yes, sir!" Aiden Howkins accepted his orders and left.
Nancy Lockwood couldn’t help but ask, "Young Master Quincy, could it be a trap?"
Adrian Quincy said grimly, "I’ve said those words to someone before."
Nancy Lockwood was taken aback. "You mean a vigilante hacker is helping us, and you know who it is?"
Adrian Quincy narrowed his eyes, a bottomless, dark look settling in their depths.
’Claire, is it you?’
「Fifteen minutes later.」
Aiden Howkins called. "Young Master Quincy, God K and several internationally wanted criminals have taken over The Fragrant Bean Cafe. They’re heavily armed and have a lot of men. The hostages are in mortal danger. We need backup!"
Adrian Quincy’s left hand clenched into a fist. "Luke Caine," he ordered in a low voice, "lead a team to back up Aiden."
Luke Caine saluted. "Yes, sir!"
He left at once.
Adrian Quincy pulled out his phone and sent her a text: Where are you?
Claire: At the East District Police Substation.
Adrian: Don’t do anything reckless.
Claire: I just want to help you.
Adrian: I need you to be safe. Leave the rest to me.
Claire Sinclair stared at his message, her heart pounding with anxiety. ’Did I do the wrong thing?’
’He didn’t know I was a hacker before. Now that I’ve revealed myself, will he divorce me?’
At the thought of this, the color drained from Claire Sinclair’s face, and a dull ache spread through her heart.
