Chapter 544: Chapter 544 I Cudgeled a High Deity Just to Get Directions to the Next Town
A week passed in the blink of an eye, and Saturday arrived once more.
As was customary on weekends, Lin Feng opened his doors to visitors seeking his assistance.
Whether it was a cultivation bottleneck, a mysterious illness, a family dispute, or a problem that had troubled someone for decades, people from all walks of life came to seek his guidance.
By noon, Lin Feng had already helped three individuals.
The third visitor was an elderly cultivator whose greatest worry had plagued him for hundreds of years.
After receiving Lin Feng’s help, the old man was so grateful that he nearly knelt on the spot.
"Thank you so much for your help, Senior Lin Feng!" the old man exclaimed excitedly. "Please, if there is ever anything you desire from my clan, simply speak the word. My clan will climb the highest heavens and descend into the deepest hells to fulfill your wishes. We shall serve you with all our strength, Senior!"
His voice was firm and resolute, as though making a sacred oath before the heavens themselves.
Lin Feng merely smiled and waved his hand.
"There is no need to be so serious."
However, the old man insisted on bowing several more times before finally departing.
A gust of wind swept through the courtyard, and his figure soon disappeared into the distance.
Watching him leave, Lin Feng shook his head with amusement.
People often made similar promises after receiving his help.
Some offered mountains of treasures.
Others promised eternal loyalty.
A few even swore that their descendants would serve him for generations to come.
After hearing such vows countless times, Lin Feng had long since become accustomed to them.
Talk was cheap, after all.
Of course, most of those people genuinely meant every word they said at the time.
Their gratitude was real, and their intentions were sincere.
The problem was that Lin Feng rarely needed anything from them.
He casually picked up his teacup and took a sip.
In truth, there was very little in existence that he lacked.
After all, he was already the owner and ruler of the entire multiverse.
Treasures?
The greatest treasures in existence belonged to him.
Power?
No being could rival him.
Resources?
The wealth of countless worlds was insignificant in his eyes.
As such, the grand promises made by grateful visitors were unlikely to ever be called upon.
Still, Lin Feng did not dislike hearing them.
Sometimes it was nice to know that the people he helped genuinely appreciated his efforts.
Setting down his cup, he glanced toward the entrance of the courtyard.
Lin Feng looked up at the bright blue sky overhead.
White clouds drifted lazily across the heavens, and a gentle breeze carried the fragrance of blooming flowers through the courtyard.
For a moment, he simply enjoyed the peaceful scenery.
Then a thought suddenly crossed his mind.
"The weather is far too nice to waste indoors," Lin Feng said with a smile. "I suppose it’s time for us to stretch our legs a little."
He rose from his seat and casually called for a servant.
Before long, a young woman hurried over.
Her footsteps were quick, and there was a trace of panic in her expression, as though she feared she had made some terrible mistake.
One had to know that working under Lin Feng was considered a blessing by countless people.
Not only was he a generous employer, but he also treated his servants with respect.
The salary he paid was more than ten times the standard rate, and the benefits were even more astonishing.
Many cultivators and mortals alike would gladly compete for a chance to work in his residence.
As a result, the servants treasured their positions dearly.
The young woman quickly lowered her head.
"Master."
"There’s no need to be nervous," Lin Feng said with a chuckle.
Unfortunately, his words did little to calm her.
"Summon all the ladies of the house," he instructed. "Tell them that we’ll be going out today. We should find a beautiful place to explore and enjoy ourselves. Have everyone prepared within an hour."
The servant’s eyes widened slightly.
An outing?
That meant the entire residence would become busy.
Still, she immediately bowed.
"I hear and obey, Master!"
The moment she finished speaking, she turned and practically ran away, moving so quickly that she resembled a frightened rabbit fleeing from a predator.
Lin Feng watched her retreating figure and couldn’t help but laugh.
The poor girl looked as though she had just received an imperial decree.
He touched his chin thoughtfully.
"Do I really look that terrifying?"
The answer was obvious.
Of course not.
In fact, Lin Feng was probably one of the most approachable and easygoing people in existence.
The problem was that everyone else knew exactly who he was.
Even if he smiled kindly, most people would still become nervous in his presence.
After all, standing before a being capable of casually creating or destroying universes was not something an ordinary person could ever get used to.
Lin Feng simply shook his head and sighed.
"Being too famous is troublesome."
With nothing else to do while waiting for the women to prepare, he leisurely strolled through the courtyard, already wondering where today’s adventure would take them.
An hour later, everyone had gathered and boarded a magnificent flying boat.
The vessel glided smoothly through the skies, leaving behind streaks of light as it traveled above mountains, rivers, and endless clouds.
The weather was perfect, and the gentle wind made the journey even more pleasant.
The atmosphere aboard the flying boat was lively.
For many of the women, simply being able to spend the day together with Lin Feng was enough to put them in a good mood.
Excited chatter filled the deck as everyone discussed where they wanted to go.
"We should visit the Azure Sea!" one woman suggested enthusiastically. "I’ve heard the sunset there is absolutely breathtaking."
"No, no, that’s too ordinary," another immediately argued. "Let’s go to the Floating Flower City instead. The flowers there bloom all year round, and every petal shines like a star."
