Chapter 141: The Wolf In Plain Sight

"Inside Woolie’s body, there is another soul, or at least a fragment of it." Raiden listened with rapt attention, focusing on every word.

"Another soul??"

"Yessss. His Bloodlinee, it comes fromm and old wolff, who tiress to influence their personality from beyondd, creating this problemm. But it’s not a bigg issue, at least not yett. I have surpressed the personalityy within himm firstt. You will need to connect with his mindd, and help the reall Woolie snap out of dreamss. I believe you can do itt." Ruby looked at him with confidence in her eyes.

While checking Woolie’s body for injuries, she also checked his power level and was shocked to see it grow so much. At this rate, she was sure Raiden could grow into someone who could stand his own before she was gone from this world.

"Connect with him? How can I do that?" Raiden asked eagerly.

"Meditation and Bondss. Don’t tell me you forgott something so basicc." Ruby narrowed her eyes as she looked at him, making him shiver in fear and snapping him out of his daze. He was so worried about Woolie that he had forgotten everything else.

"No, no, I remember. Don’t worry, Aunt, I will do it right now!!" Raiden quickly sat down on the spot, ready to get his sheep back from the land of the dreams, only to get hit on the head.

"Ouch, what was that for??" Raiden rubbed his head as he looked at the culprit snake.

"Don’t be hastyy, you need restt. As you are right noww, you will only be a hindrancee to him. Do it tomorrow. He is not in dangerr anymoree." Raiden calmed down a lot after hearing her words.

"You are right, I shouldn’t be so hasty. I will do it tomorroww." Raiden rubbed his head and nodded.

"By the way Aunt, I have a question."

"What is itt?"

"Are you really a Gold Tier Terran?? Your powers seem even more formidable than Diamond Tier Terrans I’ve come across in the wild." Raiden asked carefully. Even though he knew her real powers, she didn’t know he knew about it.

"Don’t askk what you shouldn’tt ask. I’ll tell you aboutt my powerss laterr. Just rememberr I am not as strongg as you thinkk I amm." Ruby answered him calmly, before closing her eyes and coiling up on the spot.

Raiden knew he couldn’t get any more answers about her or her past today, and he took his leave.

’It’s fine, Aunt isn’t going anywhere, I need to make sure Woolie is okay first.’ Raiden took a deep breath and went back to his house, getting ready to prepare for tomorrow, with a golden serpentine watching his back silently.

-------------------------------------------

Having spent the whole previous day resting and adjusting his condition, Raiden made his way towards the same big banyan tree, ready to wake Woolie up and claim his partner back.

After evolving for the first time under this tree, it somehow created a special place in Raiden’s heart, making his heart feel at peace when he sat beneath it. He always chose this spot to meditate or think over his problems.

"All right, I am going to begin now."

"Good. Do itt. Don’t worry, I’ll be watchingg overr you from heree."Ruby spoke from the side, giving him a small nod.

"Sha Sha!!" Good luck, Rai Rai~ Get my big brother back soon!! I miss him!!

Taking deep breaths, Raiden sat down cross-legged on the grass and closed his eyes, running his meditation in full cycle.

At first, he wasn’t able to get into deep meditation. But after doing it a few times before, it came more easily to him this time as he quickly stopped his mind from thinking and fell into a trance, with all sounds and senses vanishing from around him.

Before long, he found himself standing in a big and dark void where there was no sound, sense, or feel of touch. He felt like he had lost all his six senses, with only darkness surrounding him.

This, however, didn’t deter Raiden, as he had already been in a similar situation before. He quickly tapped into his body, focusing on his bond with his partners.

He located two sources calling out to him from within the dark. One of them was violent and destructive, with sounds of thunder echoing in his ears. The other one was equally violent and destructive, if not more. The only difference was that he could feel the warmth on his skin when he focused on it.

He quickly moved towards the first one, getting closer and closer to the source of thunder. By now, his loss of audio deprivation was gone, and he was able to hear the cracking of thunder echoing in his ears once again.

As soon as he reached the place, he saw an incredible sight unfolding in front of him.

In front of Raiden was a shadow of a wolf, the biggest wolf he had ever seen in his life. It easily measured over 300 kilometres tall, with him only being able to glance at the feet of the gigantic shadow, each bigger than a multi-storied building.

His deadly claws were coated in violet and deep silver, and he had a feeling that his soul would be obliterated if he even got close to one of them.

AWWWOOOO!!!!

The howl alone shook the void itself, cracking the darkness like glass from corner to corner. Raiden felt it in his bones, in his blood, in the deepest part of his soul.

The wolf’s body was made entirely of shadow and storm, yet paradoxically radiated an oppressive weight of absolute presence. Its fur was the deep black of a sky right before lightning tears it apart, threaded with violet and silver veins that pulsed like a living heartbeat, crackling and surging with every breath it took.

His fangs, each one as long as a mountain range, gleamed with an edge that looked capable of tearing through the void itself, through the bones of the world, through anything that dared to exist in their way. And his eyes, his enormous golden eyes, were filled with nothing but pure violence and chaos.

This was not a Terra Beast. He had evolved beyond that conventional sense of them, and it was closer to concept, the concept and law of world-ending violence.

And yet, as Raiden stood frozen in the void, taking in the incomprehensible scale of what stood before him, he realised, with the kind of slow dawning disbelief that made his mind go completely blank, that this was not the most incredible thing in front of him.

Because against the enormous howling wolf, coiled around it like a chain made of muscle and fury, was an equally gigantic crimson serpent, scales burning like embers, golden eyes coldly indifferent, holding the god of wolves down against the void floor as it howled in rage and pain beneath her.

"Rai Rai~ You are heree. Let’s begin."
