Chapter 467: Chapter 264: The Treacherous Divine Weapon
"Of course."
The middle-aged man who replied, clad in bright yellow martial attire, stood with his hands clasped behind his back. As he surveyed the area inside and outside the entrance, he said calmly, "But Yu Yijun, don’t forget one thing. I want half of the Wind Demon Crystals we obtain."
"Half?"
The silver-haired man, Yu Yijun, knitted his sharp brows and snapped, "Xiangluo Valley, if you take half, how much do I get?"
As he spoke, he looked at the others. "And how much will *they* get?"
The seven people he stared at either lowered their heads or averted their gazes.
"You can split the rest however you want."
Xiangluo Valley remained calm. "I want half, period," he said coolly. "If you don’t agree, we can go our separate ways and hunt on our own."
A cold glint appeared in Yu Yijun’s eyes.
"Fine! Half it is!"
Yu Yijun snapped, "Can we go in now?"
SWOOSH!
With a flicker, Xiangluo Valley’s figure shot into the Floating Realm.
Yu Yijun followed close behind.
Of the remaining seven, five followed them inside.
The last two stayed behind to guard the entrance.
Once Yu Yijun, Xiangluo Valley, and the others were far away, these two began complaining to each other via Divine Strange Sound Transmission.
"Xiangluo Valley is taking half all by himself, and Yu Yijun agreed. How much will be left for us to split?"
"We’ll be lucky if we can split a tenth of it."
"Heh, a tenth."
"What, you’re not satisfied? If you’re not satisfied, you can go in and kill the Wind Demons yourself. But without Yu Yijun to herd them and Xiangluo Valley’s Divine Weapon to lock them down, the Wind Demons aren’t so easy to kill."
"If they were easy to kill, would I need to partner with them in the first place?"
"Exactly. So getting to split a tenth is already pretty good... Huh? Someone’s coming!"
...
...
The Floating Realm.
On a floating island.
Inside a mountain riddled with wind-worn caves, Gu Zheng slashed out with his saber. Myriad blades tore a third-stage Wind Demon to shreds.
CLINK~
A translucent, irregularly shaped crystal about the size of a baby’s fist fell to the ground as the third-stage Wind Demon’s body dissipated.
"A Demon Pill?"
Gu Zheng used his power to draw the crystal through the air. It floated before him as he sensed the energy and aura within it.
Upon inspection, he was surprised to find the crystal contained limited energy. However, its Dao Rhyme was remarkable, as was its wondrous connection to the natural laws of heaven and earth. Most importantly, its link to the Dao of Wind was especially prominent.
Holding this crystal could not only help one break through to the King’s Body realm, but also help one comprehend the Dao and engage in Seeking Truth.
The only catch was that the Domain it helped generate would be a Wind Domain, and the path found through Seeking Truth would also be the Dao of Wind.
This kind of specialized Enlightenment Marvel was a true treasure of heaven and earth, a rare gem.
The Demon Slayer Bureau’s records on Wind Demons contained no mention of this.
Of course, pure Wind Demons were rare to begin with.
Who would have thought that killing a third-stage Wind Demon would yield a "Demon Pill" with such powerful effects?
This crystal was useless to Gu Zheng at the moment, but Zhou Dingding and Gu Xue might be able to use it in the future.
With this in mind, Gu Zheng didn’t absorb its energy. Instead, he stored the entire crystal away.
Then, he sensed the auras of other Wind Demons around him, and upon locating them, he sped over.
Killing first- and second-stage Wind Demons yielded no rewards.
Only after killing a third-stage Wind Demon did a crystal appear. But soon, Gu Zheng realized something was off.
Not every third-stage Wind Demon he killed dropped a "Demon Pill."
’So whether a third-stage Wind Demon produces a "Demon Pill" is a matter of chance?’
Gu Zheng zipped around, moving from one floating island to another. He killed over a dozen third-stage Wind Demons but only obtained three "Demon Pills."
The drop rate was about one in five.
It wasn’t until he killed two fourth-stage Wind Demons that he discovered they had a 100% chance of containing a "Demon Pill." Furthermore, these were larger and contained even more Dao Rhyme.
’So, it’s best to hunt fourth-stage Wind Demons?’
But where would he find so many fourth-stage Wind Demons?
After searching the Floating Realm for two days, Gu Zheng had acquired nine "Demon Pills."
Just as he was about to return to Black Wind Gorge, he suddenly heard the sounds of a fight coming from the distant sky, accompanied by a familiar voice.
...
BOOM!
On a floating island, several mountain peaks swayed. One of them cracked apart, sending countless fragments of rock flying through the air.
Rampant, Powerful Qi tore through the air as several figures crisscrossed in battle. They unleashed tyrannical energy, sending out shockwaves that obliterated the remaining peaks.
WHOOSH~~!
Suddenly, with a sharp whistle of displaced air, a figure plummeted from the sky, smashed through a mountaintop, and cratered into the ground below.
"Feng Wuwo, hand over the Wind Demon Crystal, and we can still sit down and talk this out."
Yu Yijun’s expression was indifferent as a pair of glowing wings circled around him. "If you continue to be so stubborn, don’t blame me for being merciless."
"As if you were ever so magnanimous." A figure slowly floated out of the crater. His hair was slightly disheveled and his aura was in mild disarray. Feng Wuwo looked up at Yu Yijun and scoffed, "Yu Yijun, you’ve finally decided to drop that hypocritical mask of yours. It wasn’t easy, was it?"
"Feng, why must you be like this?" Xiangluo Valley advised, holding a longbow condensed from pure light. A cold, murderous intent locked onto Feng Wuwo. "You can’t even use that Wind Demon Crystal right now."
"Whether I can use it or not is my business. It has nothing to do with you." Feng Wuwo ascended deliberately as a sphere of scorching, burning wind—his Domain—materialized around him.
"How absurd."
Yu Yijun barked coldly. With a grabbing motion, he pulled a figure from behind him and immobilized it in mid-air to his right.
"Yu Yijun! You’re despicable!"
Feng Wuwo’s expression changed, his eyes filling with hatred.
The one captured and restrained by Yu Yijun was none other than Feng Wuji.
Feng Wuji, at the third stage of the Heroic Body, was a major figure in his own right, one who commanded respect wherever he went. But now, facing Yu Yijun, who was at the second stage of the King’s Body, he was utterly helpless—like a calf waiting to be slaughtered.
"Despicable?"
Yu Yijun sneered. "The means don’t matter, as long as I achieve my goal. The result is all that counts. I can’t be bothered to fight you; getting the Wind Demon Crystal is what’s most important. Feng Wuwo, are you going to hand it over, or not?"
