Chapter 395: Chapter 228: The Excited Zhong Family
The third stage of the King’s Body!
The Zhong Duxiu before him was definitely at the stage of King’s Body: Seeking Truth. He had already found his cultivation path and touched the threshold of the True Body.
Even so, the man exuded a threatening aura, a clear sign that he didn’t fully trust Gu Zheng.
It was a power play!
’Perhaps it’s also a test?’
’Someone at the King’s Body Domain stage probably couldn’t sense this kind of threat.’
’Only by advancing to King’s Body: Divine Communication and awakening the Five Orifice Divine Techniques could one detect it.’
’So, Zhong Duxiu is testing me to see if I’ve reached the second stage of the King’s Body?’
...
Though his mind raced, Gu Zheng’s expression, heartbeat, and breathing showed no signs of change.
"Haha, I’m sure Gu King will succeed."
Zhong Duxiu laughed heartily and gestured to the side. "Come, Gu King, this way, please. The Crimson Moon Heaven-Covering Blade is behind the mountain."
"After you, Zhong King." Gu Zheng stopped, gesturing for Zhong Duxiu to lead the way.
"Very well. Follow me, Gu King." Zhong Duxiu didn’t stand on ceremony and took the lead.
Gu Zheng followed, and Zhong Yi brought up the rear.
The trio flew at a low altitude, heading straight for the mountain behind.
As they passed over the side of the mountain, a colossal blade over a thousand feet tall suddenly came into view.
It was pitch-black from hilt to tip, with a domineering form. It had no sheath, its exposed blade plunged halfway into the ground at an angle. The weapon was deathly still, not a single wisp of its aura escaping.
"This is the Crimson Moon Heaven-Covering Blade."
Zhong Duxiu stopped about thirty meters from the blade. He pointed and said, "My ancestor placed this blade here after obtaining it, and no one has moved it since. Its Divine Weapon Space has remained sealed. Gu King, you are the only one who has any hope of awakening it. Today, we must trouble you. If you fail, then no one can succeed, and we will have to abandon all hope."
"You exaggerate, Zhong King."
Gu Zheng cupped his fist in a salute. "I dare not be so bold. I can only promise to do my best."
"Of course, of course," Zhong Duxiu laughed. "Gu King, please, feel free to do whatever you must."
"Very well." Gu Zheng cupped his fist, then nodded to Zhong Yi.
He then slowly floated toward the Crimson Moon Heaven-Covering Blade, landing on the exposed, slightly rough surface of its hilt.
He focused his Spirit, using Shadow to scan the entire blade. Just as he’d suspected, it was completely inert.
There was nothing unusual about the blade whatsoever. It was impossible to peer inside, let alone enter the Divine Weapon Space.
In response, Gu Zheng slowly released his Sword Intent—first, from the Nine Luminaries Golden Saber, then from Golden Thousand Blades, and finally, from Ten Thousand Blades Heaven Slaughter.
These three True Skills formed a sequence, each one progressively stronger than the last.
The power of his Sword Intent also evolved and expanded along with the changing True Skills.
When all three forms of Sword Intent had been unleashed, blanketing the colossal body of the Crimson Moon Heaven-Covering Blade inside and out, the entire blade suddenly trembled.
SHIIING~~~!
The crisp ring of the blade sounded as if it were splitting the heavens from the earth. It seemed to travel from a distant, ancient past, crossing the river of time itself to arrive in the Spirit Realm Space. It descended upon the Crimson Moon Heaven-Covering Blade and radiated for miles around.
"Did it work?"
Dozens of meters away in midair, Zhong Yi’s eyes lit up, and he spoke with delight.
"Not yet."
Zhong Duxiu kept a faint smile on his face, but his eyes were completely indifferent. "This is only the beginning."
"..." Zhong Yi opened his mouth to speak but said nothing. He took a deep breath to calm his racing heart.
Regardless of the outcome, it was an incredibly successful start.
The Sword Intent from the three True Skills, unleashed in sequence, had stimulated the Crimson Moon Heaven-Covering Blade and shown results almost immediately.
Signs that it was awakening—coming back to life!
"SHIING~~"
"SHIING!"
As Zhong Yi and Zhong Duxiu watched, Gu Zheng continued to channel the three True Skills. His Sword Intent shrouded the Crimson Moon Heaven-Covering Blade, bathing it from top to bottom before coiling around it to provide constant stimulation.
The Sword Intent was almost tangible. It sliced through the surrounding space, creating strange sounds and carving out ripples in reality—even tearing into the void, though the rifts healed in an instant.
In that moment, Gu Zheng flawlessly showcased the full power of his Spatial Blade Intent and Shattering Void Sword Intent.
Along with the humming, the vibrations running through the colossal body of the Crimson Moon Heaven-Covering Blade grew stronger and more frequent.
Finally, with a violent tremor, the ground began to shake. Large cracks spiderwebbed across the earth near the Crimson Moon Heaven-Covering Blade. A crimson beam of light erupted from the blade’s body and shot high into the air, piercing the very dome of the Spirit Realm Space before disappearing into the void.
WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH~!
Fierce gales howled and swirled, forming a terrifying tornado that unleashed its world-shaking power.
SWISH~ SWISH~ SWISH~
Streams of Sword Qi followed close behind, erupting from the Crimson Moon Heaven-Covering Blade to lash out in every direction.
Zhong Yi’s figure flickered as he dodged again and again.
Zhong Duxiu kept his hands clasped behind his back. He faced the sky full of swirling Sword Qi, his eyes as placid as an untouched well. Any strand of Sword Qi that shot toward him would silently dissipate just before reaching his body.
VMM~
VMM!
The vibrating hum echoed in his ears.
As Gu Zheng maintained the flow of his Sword Intent into the Crimson Moon Heaven-Covering Blade, his vision suddenly brightened as a separate space appeared before him.
’The Divine Weapon Space!’
’It’s open!’
’The perfected Sword Intent, condensed from the progressive sequence of the Nine Luminaries Golden Saber, Golden Thousand Blades, and Ten Thousand Blades Heaven Slaughter, actually managed to open the Divine Weapon Space of the Crimson Moon Heaven-Covering Blade!’
’It’s similar to the Divine Weapon Space of the Heaven-piercing Halberd.’
The internal space of the Crimson Moon Heaven-Covering Blade also contained a Divine Weapon Core and two dormant vortexes.
The Divine Weapon Core wasn’t cracked, merely dim and without luster.
Gu Zheng couldn’t sense a Divine Weapon Spirit, either.
’Doesn’t it exist?’
After a moment’s thought, Gu Zheng began to condense his Sword Intent inside the Divine Weapon Space of the Crimson Moon Heaven-Covering Blade.
The three forms of Sword Intent unfolded in sequence, howling as they swirled about.
They transformed into three whirlwinds, darting back and forth within the Divine Weapon Space.
This process continued for fifteen minutes, then half an hour, an hour, two hours...
Soon, half a day had gone by.
Outside, the colossal body of the Crimson Moon Heaven-Covering Blade continued to hum and tremble, though the vibrations had lessened significantly, becoming much gentler.
