Chapter 57: 57:Ravenna’s stats?
In a world where power determined almost everything, Ravenna was in a dangerous position, especially for someone beautiful and alone.
Silver stared at her as he waited for the activation. The system suddenly appeared in front of him blocking his view of her.
[Target Synchronization Available.]
Would Host like to view Target Status?
YES / NO
Silver nearly dropped his glass. He had forgotten the system could do that, he had expected it to appear beside him or somewhere else.
Immediately, he selected yes. A new screen unfolded, then Silver completely froze. His brain stopped working for several seconds.
’What the fuck!’
Then he looked again, because surely he’d read it wrong.
He had not.

Silver stared at the screen, then closed his eyes briefly before opening them again, but the results were still the same. He could feel the shock going through his body because there was absolutely no way.
She had nineteen. It wasn’t fifteen or seventeen but nineteen. The highest natural capacity publicly recognized. It was the absolute ceiling. The kind of talent that could become an Alpha Sanctuary-level powerhouse.
Entire organizations would fight over her now. She had the talent that talented people would die for. And she was sitting here eating dessert.
Silver couldn’t understand why she died. The only reason was that she was still beastless or there was just something he didn’t get.
The author was stupid enough to kill someone who would have been extremely helpful to the world. She even rivaled the protagonist.
This was completely absurd.
The system continued.
[Additional Note]
Target has not undergone official capacity verification.
Public Status: Unknown
That explained it. No one knew how absurdly strong she was. If people discovered this the Academy would recruit her immediately, major families would fight over her, and contractor organizations would offer sponsorships.
Her value would increase overnight. Silver looked up. Ravenna was currently staring at him.
"...Why are you looking at me like that?"
Silver immediately coughed, he’d been in too much shock to control his expression.
"Nothing."
Her eyes narrowed.
"You’re lying."
"I am."
At least he was being honest. Ravenna sighed.
"You really are strange."
Silver laughed. That wasn’t entirely unfair, she was the strange one. Eventually, he asked the question that now seemed obvious.
"You never measured your soul?"
Ravenna shook her head.
"No."
"Why?"
That earned him a look, that suggested the answer should be obvious.
"I was alone."
Silver paused then realized. It had escaped his mind that soul measurements weren’t always free. More importantly, the process required trust.
An unofficial awakened had to go to Official facilities for the measurement. This meant records would be left behind. Any strong organisation would be able to access the data and maybe recruit you.
And Ravenna trusted almost nobody which made sense. Still, Silver couldn’t help but stare at her in disbelief.
"Nineteen."
The word escaped before he could stop it.
Ravenna’s expression twisted into one of confusion.
"...What?"
Silver immediately regretted speaking.
"Oh... Oops."
Her eyes narrowed.
"What does that mean?"
Silver quickly recovered.
"Nothing."
"Silver."
"It’s just a guess."
"Silver."
"You look and feel talented."
"Silver."
He awkwardly laughed. It was clear she wasn’t letting this go.
Unfortunately, he couldn’t exactly explain that his supernatural happiness system had just shown her status screen.
That conversation would become complicated, fast.
So he settled on a partial truth.
"You said your strength was abnormal."
Ravenna nodded slowly. That part was true but she had not mentioned that.
She leaned forward her eyes narrowed
"I never told anyone that, even you."
Silver felt like slapping himself. He maintained a straight face and improvised.
"Your grip."
"What?"
"When we first met."
Now he was mostly inventing things but fortunately, confidence made lies stronger.
"I noticed that you carry yourself differently, you move differently and you’ve been stronger than normal. It is noticeable if you look closely enough. "
Ravenna looked genuinely surprised.
"Oh...I have. I never noticed I was that obvious. "
’You weren’t’
Silver almost sighed in relief. It was a lucky guess but it at least saved him or perhaps not.
People with high soul capacities often develop subtle advantages before integration or even awakening.
The stronger the soul, the greater the influence at least according to contractor theory.
Ravenna sat back, thoughtful. For several moments she remained silent, then finally spoke.
"I always thought something was wrong with me."
Silver frowned.
"What?"
She shrugged.
"When I was younger."
"I was stronger than other girls," she chuckled humorlessly, "sometimes stronger than boys."
Silver immediately imagined the business associate getting both arms broken. The image was now becoming increasingly believable. How had her family not noticed this?
Ravenna continued.
"I never understood why."
Silver understood perfectly. She had a soul capacity of nineteen, which was why. A capacity like that bordered on monstrous even without a beast, proper training, or development.
Eventually, the conversation shifted again. The atmosphere remained comfortable now. The earlier awkwardness had mostly disappeared enough that neither felt the need to constantly think before speaking. Which was unexpectedly nice.
Silver leaned back. Then asked the question he’d been considering for several minutes.
"What are your plans?"
Ravenna slightly frowned.
"My plans?"
"For the future."
She looked toward the city lights. The answer didn’t come immediately and when it did, it sounded surprisingly simple.
"I want enough strength that nobody can throw me away again."
Silver became quiet. That was... a very reasonable goal though a painful one. The honesty of it struck him.
He had thought she would have some grand declarations, a desire to save the world, or dreams of becoming famous.
But she just wanted independence, security, and freedom. She just wanted the ability to stand on her own.
Silver nodded.
"I think you’ll manage."
Ravenna looked at him then laughed softly.
"Based on what?"
