Chapter 503: Chapter 500 – Umū Dabrūtu

The battle inside the dimensional rift had reached a terrifying and captivating climax. The air was filled with violently swirling energy, thick black-golden mist enveloping the entire area like a living shroud of death, making visibility hazy and full of illusions. The already devastated muddy ground shook violently with every collision between the two primordial forces, creating new cracks that spread like the web of a giant spider. Energy shards flew everywhere, some flaring brightly before fading into black dust. The stinging ozone smell mixed with the acidic, fishy aroma of primordial blood, making every breath feel heavy.

Sylvia stood in the midst of that chaos like an unshakable queen. Her undead queen body was completely free of any camouflage. Her pale skin glowed faintly with black veins pulsing like living rivers of darkness, channeling an inexhaustible abyss energy. Her dark red eyes blazed like two hellish suns ready to burn anything they saw. Her elongated pitch-black claws trembled with lethal power, and her long black hair floated as if it had a life of its own, surrounded by small particles of darkness. Abyss chains spun around her like a living storm, their numbers increasing to hundreds, clanking as though they possessed their own consciousness and thirsted for blood.

The winged lion creature before her roared with uncontrollable primordial rage. Its dark golden fur was soaked with its own purplish blood flowing from deep wounds. Its eight pairs of wings were torn in several places but still trembled violently, creating sharp winds that sliced through the air and left gashes on the dimensional walls. Its golden-red eyes burned with hatred and desperation. Its curved claws, sharp as ancient swords, trembled with increasingly unstable storm energy. Its once majestic body was now covered in deep wounds from the abyss chains, its chest torn, wings ripped, and legs beginning to falter yet it still stood firm like an ancient guardian refusing to die, preserving its pride as a protector.

Sylvia leaped forward without the slightest hesitation, her movements full of elegant and deadly darkness. Abyss chains shot forward like an endless rain of darkness spears. Hundreds of pitch-black chains moved at speeds almost invisible to the naked eye, wrapping around the creature’s legs and pulling it down with tremendous force that made the ground rumble. The creature roared loudly, its voice shaking the entire dimensional space until the rift walls cracked even more severely. Its wings slashed furiously, severing dozens of chains at once in a single massive sweep. The sharp wind from its wings created invisible wind blades that struck Sylvia from all directions, like a merciless storm of knives.

Sylvia dodged with inhuman undead movements, her body bending, spinning, and gliding like a living shadow unbound by physical laws. Some wind blades still managed to slash deeply into her shoulders and waist, leaving gaping wounds that poured thick black blood dripping into the mud. The stinging, burning pain only fueled her rage deeper, like oil poured onto hellfire. "You will not escape," she hissed coldly, her voice echoing like thousands of death spirits whispering for revenge.

She raised her hand with a slow but majestic motion. The remaining abyss chains formed a complex, beautiful yet terrifying final attack pattern, like a giant hellish web woven by the hand of a dark goddess. The chains shot from all directions from the ground, from the shadows, from the air itself wrapping tightly and mercilessly around the lion creature’s body. Some chains pierced its torn wings, suppressing the storm energy within until it dimmed and smoked. The creature tried to break free with devastating storm-powered punches, shattering several chains into fragments of darkness. But there were too many chains. They kept emerging from the endless darkness, as if Sylvia’s abyss power was inexhaustible, especially strengthened inside this dimensional rift.

The creature roared in dimension-shaking agony, its voice full of primordial suffering. Its body trembled violently as it exploded a storm energy wave from every pore of its fur and wings. The wave pushed the chains back momentarily, giving it space to leap high into the air. It landed in front of Sylvia with terrifying speed, leaving swirling golden wind trails. Its massive, muscular, wet-furred fist struck Sylvia’s chest with full power, as if intending to destroy everything in existence.

BOOOOM!

The impact produced an extraordinary energy explosion. Sylvia was hurled backward with tremendous force, her body shooting like a bullet and slamming into the dimensional wall until new cracks appeared and energy shards flew everywhere. Intense pain spread throughout her body, her ribs cracked again, internal organs shaken, and black blood spurted from her mouth and wounds. The world spun for a moment in her eyes, but she rose quickly, her undead regeneration working at incredible speed. The wounds began to close, bones knitting back together, even as the pain still burned. Her eyes grew darker red, her rage reaching an unstoppable peak.

"Now it’s my turn," she whispered coldly, her voice full of the authority of a long-dormant queen.

The abyss chains spun faster around her, forming a perfect and deadly final attack pattern. Hundreds of chains shot forward at once, forming a giant cage of darkness around the lion creature. The creature fought with all its remaining strength, its torn wings slashing furiously, its fists striking repeatedly to break chain after chain. Explosion after explosion of darkness and storm collided, creating blinding light that illuminated the entire rift. But more chains kept appearing. They wrapped around its body from head to toe, pressing down with the full power of a queen. Their sharp thorns pierced golden fur, flesh, and even bone, completely locking its movements. The creature roared, its body shaking violently as it tried to break free, but the cage of darkness tightened further.

Sylvia leaped forward at peak speed, her elongated claws slashing brutally and lethally across the creature’s neck. Four long, deep gashes were carved into its throat, purplish blood gushing out like a blazing fountain. The creature let out a final agonizing roar, its voice fading from rage into despair. Its body trembled violently, its wings trying one last time to create a final storm, but the abyss chains pressed down too strongly. With one final move full of dominance, Sylvia stabbed her claws filled with dense abyss energy directly into the creature’s chest, piercing its heart. The dark energy flowed in like ancient poison, destroying the creature’s primordial core from within.

The winged lion let out a long, piercing roar. Its body shook violently before finally collapsing into the mud with a heavy thud that shook the ground. The dimensional rift around them began to stabilize, the remaining storm gradually subsided, the rain stopped, and the energy mist thinned. Dim light filtered through once more, as if the dimension itself was breathing a sigh of relief after the fierce battle.

Sylvia stood over the creature’s remains, her breathing labored even though her undead body didn’t truly need oxygen. Her body was covered in wounds that were beginning to heal, black blood dripping into the mud and evaporating. Finally, she could calmly use her appraisal.

Umū Dabrūtu

Rank: Ancient Guardian (Corrupted)

Sylvia smiled faintly, even though her body still ached. "Umū Dabrūtu... Storm Guardian. No wonder you were so strong. You were a worthy opponent."

From behind, the rest of the team approached cautiously, their steps heavy in the wet mud. Alicia immediately cast healing magic without hesitation. "Recovery! Greater Heal!" Holy white light quickly healed Sylvia’s wounds, erasing the pain and restoring her drained stamina. The light felt warm and soothing, a stark contrast to the darkness that had just dominated the area.

Stacia let out a long sigh of relief, her face still pale but her eyes full of admiration. "Are you okay, Sylvia? That... was an insane fight. I thought this rift was going to collapse."

Elara and the others stood with wide eyes full of awe and a hint of fear. "That... was your true power," Elara whispered, her voice trembling. "Zombie Queen... no, Queen of Death. We felt like we were watching a war goddess."

Lira and Sylvana exchanged glances, their hands still shaking from witnessing the duel. Sol and Qilin approached, cautiously sniffing the remnants of the creature’s vanishing energy.

Sylvia only smiled faintly and did not answer directly. She took a deep breath, her dark aura slowly receding, though traces of her queenly power still lingered. "Let’s finish this first. The rift is still here, and there may be other threats inside. Umū Dabrūtu was only the gatekeeper."

They all nodded, their spirits reigniting despite their exhaustion. Alicia continued healing the other team members, Stacia began checking the rift’s stability with her grimoire, while Elara and the other elves inspected the surrounding area.

This intense battle had opened a new path deeper into the rift. Sylvia’s secrets were beginning to be revealed little by little to her companions, and their bond grew even stronger. However, they knew this was only the beginning of a greater storm. Beyond this rift, other ancient powers might still be waiting.

Sylvia glanced at the last fading particles of Umū Dabrūtu, her red eyes gleaming faintly. "Thank you for a worthy battle, Guardian. May your winds find peace."

With steady steps, Eternal Party continued their journey deeper into the now calmer dimensional rift, ready to face whatever awaited ahead.
