Chapter 3: First Glitch?
"If you’re happy with that, I can put you in warehouse management," Urdur had replied.
When Dean heard these words, he nodded and replied, "All right then."
When Dean arrived at the warehouse a short while later, he took a deep breath.
Having worked in a similar job in the real world, he honestly thought he could handle this task.
Before him lay the corpses of monsters, each stretching to a length of five or six metres, wide and truly enormous.
These were corpses that needed to be wrapped up and packed away.
"These are medium-grade cuts of meat processed in the kitchen, sir. Your task will be to pack them, either whole or in pieces," Urdur had said.
Dean, however, had taken a deep breath.
He was well aware that he wouldn’t be able to move the monster carcasses he saw before him.
So, turning to the ghost who was smiling gently at him, he asked:
"Can you do something for me?"
When Urdur asked with great curiosity, "May I ask what it is, sir?", Dean replied:
"I don’t know how you can do it, but go out and hire some people for me. If that’s acceptable, I’ll pay them all a wage for as long as I’m here."
At Dean’s words, Urdur sprang to his feet instantly.
One could even make out the silhouettes of coin fragments in Ghost’s eyes.
"I shall do as you command; please sit down and wait," said Urdur.
Within seconds, he had vanished from sight.
Dean, meanwhile, had looked around, searching for somewhere to sit.
There was nowhere.
Still, outside the warehouse, he could see a place that looked like a restaurant.
He didn’t think walking about would do him any harm, so he stepped out of the warehouse and headed towards the restaurant.
As he approached the restaurant and stepped inside, he could see that all eyes inside were turned towards him.
He could see four of the people who’d entered the dungeon with him.
He could clearly see that they’d been trained for the job. He’d spotted an elderly woman with dishevelled hair, holding a huge, bloodstained axe in her hand.
The woman turned directly towards Dean.
"You’re late!" she shouted.
She didn’t even look like a ghost. She looked just like a human being. Only... she looked very old. And rather frightening, too.
"I don’t work here," Dean replied.
At Dean’s words, the woman’s face fell.
"Now, you are," the woman had said, and she’d thrown one of the bowls standing beside her at Dean.
Although Dean had tried to catch the bowl, it had struck him, fallen to the floor and shattered.
You could even see a spirit emerging from inside the bowl.
"That’s worth 40 Nether Coins. Now, do you work here or not?" the woman had asked.
Dean, however, had smiled and muttered, "Naaaaaah."
The woman gripped the blade in her hand much more firmly and began walking towards Dean with quick strides.
Dean smiled and thought to himself:
"System, give me another 10,000-coin bill."
With that thought, another bill appeared in his hand.
"Is this enough for that bowl?" Dean asked.
When the woman saw the note in Dean’s hand, she was speechless.
The woman’s trap had failed.
The moment the woman took the money from the young man’s hand, Dean saw that system window again, this time in the right-hand corner of his right eye.
[Task 1: Embodiment of Good
Spend at least 20,000/100,000 Nether and Aether Coins.
Reward: Sacred Pill]
"Bingo," Dean thought.
He walked past the woman and went round the kitchen counter to the area where the kitchen utensils were kept.
In an instant, he’d grabbed a bowl and then hurled it onto the floor:
"CRASH!!!"
Then another one.
And then yet another.
He’d thrown ten of them in quick succession and then, looking at the woman, asked, "How much do I owe you?"
The woman couldn’t say a word.
Dean rolled his eyes.
In an instant, a hundred-thousand-worth of a banknote appeared in his hand.
The woman’s eyes lit up instantly.
He had just turned round to smash some more bowls when a sudden voice echoed through the entire restaurant.
"Please stop breaking any more things. My business needs to carry on."
Dean, like everyone else, had heard the voice.
The young man smiled and said, "Alright, as you wish, whoever you are."
With that, Dean handed the bill he’d just taken out directly to the woman.
He then left the restaurant.
[Task 1: Embodiment of Good

Reward: Sacred Pill]
When the young man saw this system notification, he wondered how he would claim his reward.
"The name it has... I should be able to get stronger, right?" Dean thought to himself.
Still... he was to be very much mistaken.
Suddenly, a small beam of light appeared just ten centimetres in front of him. Whilst the young man was expecting a pill to materialise, something completely different appeared before him.
He opened his hand and placed his palm beneath the streak of light, waiting.
A few seconds later, something he hadn’t expected at all happened.
"Pop."
A stick had fallen into Dean’s hand.
The young man blinked a few times calmly and waited for the vanished streak of light to reappear.

[Task 2: On the Way to Conquer
Spend at least 500,000 Nether and Aether Coins in front of 50 people. Make sure to do this in a single transaction.
Reward: Rampage Soul (Summon)]
As the young man carefully read the two system windows that had appeared before him, he felt the need to look once more at the piece of stick resting in his palm.
"Inventory," he thought, and a small area that looked just like space itself opened up before him.
When the young man placed the stick from his palm into it, another system window appeared before him:
[Dead Oak Tree Stick (F-Grade)
An ordinary stick from one of the oak trees in the mortal realm that had died a long time ago.
It would be better to throw it away.]
